Even tho' I am no longer a member of the LDS faith, I still have many family and friends who are. This app makes a very good and peace-making gift to the. The app is faultless. It has very nearly every translation available, maybe all of them. Plus, for several languages, it includes audio recordings that you can listen to. Finally, for non-LDS researchers, it provides an accessible resource for study. Go ahead and get it if you are interested in a unique, American religion.

With the exception of the auto-close shutoff aspect this app is convenient and user friendly. Even though the audio feature is available in the Gospel Library I like being able to access the Book of Mormon quickly and return to where I left off. I like the foreign language options. I like being able to locate a Sunday Service when I am traveling. I like the 'ask a question' and 'learn more' online features as I refresh my memory or answer my friends question. I am glad I am not beyond feeling.

I Love the reader, but every time I go back to listen to the next chapter, it starts back at the title page and then introduction. I have to scan ahead to the end of what he’s saying then go and re-input the chapter I’m on. If I have to stop in the middle of a chapter, it doesn’t save my spot. I switched to this version because when my other app updated, it switched to a different reader that I can’t handle listening to. It almost made me cry! (Ok, I teared up). I was so thankful to find the good reader here!

This app was amazing! I used it daily to listen to the scriptures on my. Immure to work. Unfortunately it no longer works at all. I can’t even get the text to continue to show up for me to read consistently. Please update this app! Having easy, seamless access to the Book of Mormon in this format should be one of the Church’s top priorities as it will put a Book of Mormon in every home faster than just about any other effort. Unfortunately they have not done a single update in 4 years! Please update this app!

I understand that the purpose of this app is for sharing and not necessarily cross-referencing and in-depth study but that being said, one should have the ability to share the app from within the app. Apart from that the only other readily evident flaw I see is that audio goes silent when the phone is Idol. Fix these two things and this review would get five stars. I placed a Digital Book of Mormon using this app on exchanges tonight. That was neat! Sent link from App Store as a text message to the investigator. This has amazing potential!

I testify to you that this book is true. It is another testimony of Jesus Christ. I know that together with the Bible, as far as it is translated correctly, a man can be closer to God by abiding by the precepts founds in their pages. I challenge you to read and feast upon the words of the prophets of old, then ask for yourself in humble prayer if they are not true. The Book of Mormon changed my life and my eternal destiny. I have read about Lehi, Nephi, King Benjamin and even Korihor and Laman and Lemuel. I know that they all lived. Jesus loves us all.

This is a little too simple. I think it needs a bookmark feature and a place for note taking. Someone reading the Book of Mormon for the first time will most likely have questions and want to write them down.

Also, since this is meant to be shared, how about a share feature. Hit the button and share a link to the App Store via e-mail. As it is now if I want to share this great app, I have to tell the other person, and they have to search the App Store for the app.

Otherwise, great. If you want all the other features you can download the Gospel Library app.

The Book of Mormon is amazing! It’s similar to the Bible except it’s the testimonies, prophecies and teaching about Jesus Christ from his prophets on the American continent. It even has a section that details Christ’s visit to the people on the American continent after he was resurrected from his death and crucifixion that happens in the Bible. This book goes along with the Bible and testifies that Christ is the Savior for all people, doesn’t matter the color of our skin or our race. If we follow his teachings found in the Book of Mormon we will find lasting happiness.

Love the Book of Mormon. Find this app unusable. It turns off as soon as your phone auto locks (1-2 min for most mortals). It turns off if you switch to another app (there are times I need to see if the email that just came in is important or not. And times—think the wars of Alma—that I may want to check the weather). Developers—check out Stitcher, iTunes, Audible, and every other app that manages to keep playing if a person’s phone auto locks. And, while you’re tweaking, give us the option of 1.25 and 1.5 times the normal speed. Seriously, the Book of Mormon deserves better!

I use to love this app.
It had been my go to for many years.
I listen to the BOM in Spanish daily during my 60 minute commute.
My app quit working long ago. I’ve downloaded and re-downloaded, restarted my phone several times. Nothing... blank screen. It has been so long since this app has done anything for me.
I was very excited to see this new update.
The intro worked and looked so promising,
Then nothing, blank screen.
Difference this time is that it at least shows the bottom tool bar... which does nothing.
Please fix this app!
I would pay for a working app if needed.

I love this app! It is my favorite Book of Mormon app. It’ does not work On my iPhone anymore. I don’t know what the problem is. Because I have helped so meany people Download the app and use it just fine. And other people that have it, have the same problem as me.

What keeps happening is I use the audio to listen to it. And it only works for 3-8 second and then it stops. The whole app just crashes and freezes so bad that I have to close out of it. And I have updated it and it still doesn’t work.

I really enjoyed when I had it. I LISTEN TO IT EVERY DAY. And I miss it a lot.

Seriously, this app could (and should) be a better proselyting tool than it is. The Gospel Library app, which IS updated regularly, can be daunting to prospective readers. Imagine if the missionaries dropped off a few hundred pounds of books on your doorstep - it’s a lot...

This app needs:

- to be iOS 13.0 compliant
- support for new iPhone screen ratios

This app would benefit from:

- 1.25x, 1.50x, and 1.75x playback options.
- match color schemes from Gospel App

Otherwise, it would probably be better to delete this from the App Store. The Book of Mormon deserves a relevant application.

I was hoping to use this app to listen to the Book of Mormon like an audiobook. Two important features need work before this will be useful. I wonder if any of the app developers are paying attention to these reviews...
Firstly, there are only three play speeds: 1x, 2x, and 3x. 1x is too slow. 2x and 3x are too fast. Most audiobook apps allow for 1.25x, 1.5x, and 1.75x.
Secondly, bookmarking. If I have to stop listening for awhile and the app gets closed, my place is lost the next time I open it. Would be nice if the app would remember where I left off, or at least allowed me to place bookmarks.

I love having the Book of Mormon available in other languages and have been practicing reading them, but I've had a few troubles.
1. Some chapters won't scroll down, so I can only read the first few verses in that chapter.
2. When listening to the Spanish audio it always starts from the introduction of the book rather than where you left off or which chapter you are currently open to. Then every time you listen again you have to skip to where you want to read/listen. This can be annoying when you get farther along in the book.
Even with these problems I would recommend the app, and would love to see German and French audio added in the next update.

This is an app that needs to exist, but not in its current state.

I believe all of these are essential tools for an app designed for people who are new to The Book of Mormon, or who would want to share it.

App content leads to extremely expensive in-app purchases given as donations to a company called Intellectual Reserve Inc. Based in Salt Lake City.

Content is derivative text containing large sections of the King James Bible. Text also condones and celebrates the beheading of local magistrates in retribution for property rights disputes, ordained and demanded by a middle eastern derived Deity. And this was in the first few chapters.

Racism, a thoroughly male focus and overt prosperity gospel pap plaster the remaining chapters.

There is a redeeming quality though. From a purely anthropological standpoint this text is excellent at condensing post enlightenment hand waving and American racial bias.

I’m rating the apps performance, not the Book of Mormon’s content. I love reading the BOM in different languages to spice up my daily studies, but recently it won’t load the text up. As of right now December 23 the app loads the picture of Jesus Christ and freezes. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. Thank you for looking into this.

Update: Dec 24, 2020. App still stuck on picture of Christ. Sure would prefer to study his words, not just look at his picture.

Another update: Jan 2, 2021. App still not working. Ordered a hard copy in Italian. Whoever runs this app, please do better.

January 13 app still does not work. No contact from developer.

Last update: reinstalled app, all progress was lost. I’ll stick to the hard copy. Deleting app permanently. Never contacted by those that update this app.

When I found this I was very excited to try it on my long commute and various car rides during the day. I was soon to be very disappointed with the entire thing except the fact that you can change the language.
Every time I close and restart the app it loads the chapter where I left off. That would be great, except when the audio plays it automatically starts back at the introduction even though the screen shows the chapter loaded where I left off. This is incredibly frustrating. Even if I re-select that same chapter, the audio starts to play the introduction yet again. I have to skip to another chapter and then go back to the chapter I want for it to finally load that chapter and play it properly. This is just a huge waste of time and unnecessary. I can't believe there isn't a setting to control this or an option to resume or select a new chapter when the app opens.
Further the app has been extremely glitchy with the new iOS update and closes in the middle of a chapter reading quite frequently. Once again when I reopen the app it starts all the way back at the introduction and I have to go through that same annoying process. I thought maybe it was an issue with cellular signal, so I tried it with wifi and have had the same problem.
On top of that I couldn't imagine a more annoying female voice that reads the chapter headings and intros. Not sure what that tone or expression is she is trying to add to make herself sound more spiritual or insightful but it is not easy on the ears and needs a change. However the voice for the actual scripture narrator in each chapter is easy listening, and a good tone and pace.
It's back to paper scriptures and my fm radio in the car. So long worthless BOM app until you are fixed.

The audio restarts the book when I close the App. I stopped reading for the day and when I returned it started the book all over from the beginning. It would be nice if the audio would pick up from where I left off.

It's a perfect addition for anyone collecting relics from destructive occult/cult relics. A religion based on golden tablets no one can prove real what a concept. Down load this quick to guarantee a planet and title of god upon death :D

Constantly goes back to the Introduction after I push the arrow to go to the next chapter. Usually happens when I open the app to start reading where I left off; I’ll then get to the end of the chapter, push the arrow, and it will zoom me back to the intro.

I was excited to be able to listen to it in my way to work. Well that is what I get for thinking. You pause it when you get to work then when you start it up again it starts all over again. Then it freezes with the circle swirling would not stop and play anymore.

Please change the women’s voice while Spanish Audio, not good at all! How can Nephi be narrated by a woman if he was a man, a man’s voice in the instruction of the chapter n a woman’s voice narrating Nephi? Please work on that! Nothing against women but i dont think is appropriate

- App needs fixing when playing Spanish.
- Won't remember were you left off and you have to go back and start from the Intro to be able to listen to the audio you had left off reading/listening
- Scrolling issues
- if need be charge for the app but please give us a working version

Everyday when I open the app, the chapter is blank. I have to flip to the next chapter and back to get words to appear. The problem then is that it doesn't leave off at the verse I stopped reading. I re-downloaded it and it still doesn't work. It's like reading a book without a bookmark.

I deleted this app from my phone because every time I opened the app it would go back to the beginning. Try as I might I could never get it to skip to the chapter I was on and begin reading there. After reading the reviews it looks as if this is still a problem. I’m super disappointed.

Why is it so hard to find an app that looks EXACTLY like my paper scriptures? This would be easy for this app to have 1 page of the scriptures in portrait mode and 2 pages in landscape mode. Just make this look exactly like the scriptures we hold in our hand. That's what everyone wants, but no one will do.

My app won’t work now so I deleted it and downloaded a new app but it still won’t work. It acts like it loads and at times I hear the first word and then it freezes. I deleted again and reloaded but the same thing occurs. I am using an iPhone 10 and had no problems for several years until now. What to do?

This book is hard to believe. It's full of factual mistakes and there is no geological evidence to back any of it up. I only downloaded it to compare it to the Bible and my findings are that the Mormon "religion" is leading millions of people to their eternal death. May God help you all. I'll be praying for you.

I give one star just to let you guys notice this problem, the Chinese scripture is not complete, is not readable, the first sentence of first niphi is wrong, and I don't know where else also has similar problems.

Also, could you guys put a Chinese recording task on vineyard online? We could help to perfect this app, please. Thank u

The text is nice but you can get that elsewhere. The audio is the exciting thing- it's great to have the Spanish audio to brush up on language skills with. PROBLEM: audio doesn't work when the phone sleeps. No one needs the screen on to listen to audio. I just want to listen while exercising. Once this is fixed I would give this a 5 star review.

This used to be my favorite audiobook for morning and evening devotionals . The narrator has a wonderful peaceful voice and it’s like listening to an old friend. Unfortunately this app has been neglected and hasn’t been updated. This Book of Mormon app is too important to let die. I can’t recommend this app to friends since it is defective. Sorry.

Turns out it is much easier to listen to the scriptures through the Gospel Library app. It lets you open a chapter and then click on the headphones. You can set it to keep reading or stop at the end of a chapter. Much better and more like an audio book. This app is fine, but listening through the gospel library app is better for what I want to be able to do.

The Book of Mormon is racist. There are the lamanites and the nephites among others. They have a magic ball that tells them where to go. It’s all fantasy and a bit concerning. The level of control the Mormon church has is absolute. They pay no taxes and they have billions if not trillions of dollars. They own stocks and require 10% of every members income. Honestly find a better religion. That is all.

The audio reader will only play on chapter if you are lucky. On some occasions it will move to the next chapter and stop.

If the option is there it’s not easily available or accessible or visually open to see. I’d love to be able to listen to the Book of Mormon by downloading audio to my Apple Watch, to listen on its own or to listen while reading along on the book. But the download option in not shown on the Apple Watch, and downloading on the iOS IPhone app doesn’t sync to the Apple Watch to download there as well.
