I was hired to do an install job by The Carpet Store, which has locations in Corning, Clarinda, and Red Oak for a home in Boone, Iowa. This has been one of the worst companies that I have ever worked for. It has been nothing but problems from the get go, Matthew Riley, the owner of the store has been extremely rude and very difficult to work with. The sub-floor had been installed before I did my work. Hanks Specialties out of Urbandale looked at this particular job as well and tried to cover it up for Matthew Riley. The matter has been to court and was ruled in my favor, though no payment for work completed has been received. It is clear to me that he is running a terrible business with hundreds of dollars of judgments against him. As an individual looking out for the consumer I would hope that they have second thoughts about bringing their business to a place like this. Beings that this business is a member of the chamber of commerce I would have hoped my dealings with Matthew Riley would of came to a more favorable result. I personally feel obligated to share this with the public so other people don't get scammed by him.

Please refer to this court case for further proof as to the type of business that Matthew Riley is a part of.

Here goes Tom Schweers of Tom's Floorcovering from Glidden Iowa, making false statements about the Carpet Store Inc. First thing Tom, find documents that state that I own the Carpet Store. Please state facts only! After talking to the owner of the Carpet Store I found you have only done 2 or 3 jobs for them at which there was 2 known complaints with your service. Since the Carpet Store was expanding and growing they were trying to give you a try to bring you on their team. The Carpet Store stated that after those few jobs you no longer work for them. With what you have done to my floor I understand why you don't. Hanks did come out and look at the floor - which Tom never showed up on two different occasions - and they inspected the floor. Conclusion was the underlayment was installed right but Tom did not do proper floor patch. Tom charged the Carpet Store for floor patching. I have the documents to prove these facts anyone can contact me and I would be happy to provide to anyone. As for the courts we made a mistake and not hiring an attorney to handle. We did it ourselves because we thought it was pretty clear to what the issue was. We must have not explained our side clearly. The judge is NOT a flooring expert. The bottom line is the documentation is available for any one to look at. I (the home owner) have nothing to hide unlike Tom. The only judgement is Tom's which had been paid by the Carpet Store on 4-7-2010 with check #1887. I have bought flooring from the Carpet Store in the past and plan to continue to do my business with them. I understand that this was a one time issue with the carpet store. The Carpet Store took care of me even when bad things were happening. That thought alone made my relationship strong with the Carpet Store and my future business. Thanks Carpet Store for taking care of me! Tom Schweers well - you make the call -Tom has been involved with several types of law suits dealing with small claims Here are just a few:

1. Flying J Travel Plaza - Case #05771 LNLN021487
2. Tim Phillips DBA Phillips Floors - Case #02141 SCSC006452
3. Bierl's Interiors - Case #02141 SCSC001352
4. Ronald Loeffler - Case #02141 SCSC002144
5. Randy and Jackie Hackett - Case #02141 SCSC004355
6. Keith Hoffman - Case #02851 SCSC034635
7. Allen and Jannie Darrow - Case #05391 LNCV080905
8. Adda Sayers - Case #05771 SCSC471683
9. Debra/Casey Jones - Case #05771 SCSC471683
10. Mike Rozend - Case #08791 LNLN100408
(I am working on phones numbers from these people for references for TOM SCHWEERS. I will post just as soon as I have them all.)

My opinion is if you do good work people will pay you and you will not have to spend you time in court trying to get paid for jobs being hacked in with BAD BAD BAD workmanship. You make the call...

In life people make up stories to make them selves look better, it is a disease. Actions speak louder than words - 10 small claims - ummmm ummmm little odd don't you think. I will provide the documentation to anyone who wants to see the reports from the manufactures on bad installation. It does not take a rocket scientist to read the instructions that are sent from the manufacture which TOM SCHWEERS admitted under oath that he DID NOT READ.
Tom will never be allowed on my properties again. I have no tolerance for ignorance!
MATTHEW RILEY - Property owner.

The rileys are know to state that judges aren't experts in what ever sham they have lost (several). In fact there is a court document against both of them for financial exploitation and adult abuse for taking advantage of Matt's father stealing aprox 300k and up, just somehow 80k is "unknown whereabouts". With that being said they harrass people and make false accusations all of the time because they are trash. Oh, wait it gets better! Matt was just arrested for attempting of sexual assault in one case another case was confirmed sexual assault and burglary all from 2018 but just arrested a few weeks ago. Most of their funding comes from government pay per the conversation they had while one of my clients was present for the conversation and later shared with me and others.

Matthew ariely and Denise Riley do own the Carpet store. As these two scrums of the earth receive mail under their names to the ownership of the business. All you have to do is see who leases the property it sits on runs under Matt's name. Funny how they try to charge people for their [censored] jobs or there lack of. No one likes them and they will make false statements towards and about you to make you sound bad when in fact they're so bad that judges will only do phone conference with them and lawyers in and near the town they reside in wont even represent them. Straight garbage.
