This happened a few years back, however, since there are up-to-date complaints about this company, I will be more than happy to discuss my complaints.
In early 2008, I started working at The Cattle Exchange. The ad was awesome. "Earn from $600-1, 500 weekly" This excited me, and plus in the add, it stated "Company vehicle provided." Well, I went in for the "interview" and "orientation." I went with two gentlemen, both of which names I will not mention. The first day, I was stuffed in the back of a Nissan Pickup truck and told not to get out because I could defer sales. Keep in mind, also, this was one of my "training days". I was frozen for over half the trip to the town we went to, which was Searcy, Arkansas. We went from door to door, attempting to sell meet. No one was ever interested. The truck was then running on fumes; and I was asked "Hey dude, do you have any money?" On the trip earlier, there was $15.00 placed in the tank, as well as an additional $10-12.00 for cigarettes and their McDonalds round, as well as drinks (for them). I was broke, as I was "starting a new job" and said no. They took offense to this, and did not speak to me the rest of the day til they got a sale.
After some time, they finally got a sale, for $5.00 less than what they have to pay the company back, but, it got gas in the tank and them off my back. They then hassled a few more people, got about a total of $800.00 in sales, they split their profit amongst each other, and went on their way.
The next day, I had made a phone call to the "Manager" of the store because I had a dead battery and a flat tire. So, she said "That's no problem baby, you just come on back tomorrow or when you get it fixed" I said "Great! Thanks!"
The day after I got my car up and running again, I returned to work at 8:00am that next morning. I was placed with a different guy...thank goodness because I couldn't stand the other two. I'm not judging this new person, but, he "left his drivers lisence in Alabama" So, I had to drive for this goober. He asked if I knew how to get to Russelville, I said "Yes! Man, my brother lives up there, we'll pay him a visit too and see how he's doing!" With that in mind, he questioned my every move and my every motion. I asked him why to Russelville, he told me "I promised this guy a freezer for his meat because his freezer was busted, and I forgot" I said "okay, no problem" We headed to Russelville.
Mid-way there, he told me to stop at Wal-Mart and so he could get some minutes for his cell phone, and I did. He told me to get out that he was driving, so, I complied. He drove the rest of the way because he knew exactly where he was going after Dardanelle. We went tho this person's house, and they were very thankful to see us, and he gave us access to his house and freezer to replace the thawed meat with the new fresh meat and freezer. All of the meet that I felt was cold, however, not frozen. All of the vacuum seal had failed and some of the juices were seeping out of the boxes. The driver called the "main office" (unsure of which location, Hot Springs, AR, or Atlanta, GA) and they said "Sell it for $60.00/case" For those who don't know, there are 6 boxes to a case, and a case cost $120.00 for the driver, and a box cost $20.00 to the driver. Back to the point, we were driving, and he said "Dude! I came up with a catch for it! Instead of saying it's flash frozen, I'm going to say this [censored] is freezer ready!" After using that on about 5 people, one person finally bit and bought the bad meat for $100.00 (giving him a $40.00 profit)
After trying to sell meat to more people, he became very angry and decided it was time to go home. He also was a very pushy person, as were the last 2 guys. My moral of this story; do NOT buy nor work for this company. Ever. It is inadvisable.
