The Great American Photo Contest Not a scam

Hey guys ! I just want to give some feed back on the great American photo contest ! First off my daughter was entered in December of 2013 and I thought there's no way she is going to win ! I was wrong my daughter Brynlee won tfor the month of Demeter 2013 and we just received her check in the mail today ! Although it it time consuming to get all the votes in and actually count, it is a legit contest ! You will receive multiple emails about buying things but I did not buy one item and she won ! It's doesn't help your chances if you do buy something so unless you want the product you don't have to buy anything !

The check will go along way for Brynlee ! So please take this into consideration when entering your child into the contest that it is real and if you don't win that month keep trying because when you think it's not possible it is ! Thanks guys for taking my advice :) wish you all luck in the contest ! And thanks again to the great American photo contest I will be putting my daughter back into the contest :)!

I received emails that my daughter had been selected to be in the America's Most Beautiful Babies 2015 edition. When I tried to find out how to order the book I only found negative complaints that I'd too been a victim of fraud... Thank Goodness I didn't purchase the book, but would like my $19.99 entry fee back please...

I entered my daughter in their contest and they said she had been picked to be in the 25, 000 dollar contest and in a book called Most Beautiful Babies in America, so I ordered a copy of the book for 90 something dollars and cents, yet we haven't received a copy of the book, this was 6 months ago. Who do we contact to complain and find a way to get our money back.

The Great American Photo Contest No Complaint - Not A Scam

I too was a bit concerned with this contest, especially after reading so many posts from everyone. However, I entered my dog in this contest, yes you must register a cell phone number because the advertisers will use it to try to sell you stuff. Just unsubscribe after you receive your Great American Photo Contest confirmation e-mail (wait for the confirmation because you need it to be able to vote). Remember to vote for your photo and have friends vote too. And yes, I got some e-mails stating my dog was the judges pick, and I could buy a photo book, etc., BUT I NEVER PURCHASED ONE ITEM, EVER. So, guess what? I AM THE WINNER FOR APRIL 2012. Yes, my beautiful dog Lacy won this contest. Even after I received the phone call saying I won, I was still a bit unsure of the legitimacy of this contest. Well, today I received my $1, 000 check - So, YES this is a real contest. Keep in mind that over 100, 000 people enter each month, so the odds of winning can be slim. Just keep voting for your photo, don't give up. You can go to their site and look at the April 2012 winner - it's my beloved little girl.

The Great American Photo Contest Scam

I entered my son into this contest, they emailed me and said that he had made it into the cutest babies of 2011 book! I was excited and wanted a keepsake. I ordered the book March of 2011. I have a purchase receipt and everything, but no book and no contact from them. I have emailed them over 10 times for my money back. I have now taken it as a lesson learned and as a loss of almost a hundred dollars. Can anyone say SCAM!

This site is a scam. They have you submit a pic and take you to online surveys in order to vote. My inbox has been packed with junkmail since going to this website.

I submitted my son's photo into the 'Great American Photo Contest'. About 10 minutes later I already got an email saying my son's photo was reviewed by the judges and he would be in "The Cutest Babies In The World" (or something like that) hardback book for 2010. Also the email told me to verify his photo and to follow a link so his photo would be published. Well I went to the link and it had all the information about the book. But in order for my son't photo to be in this book I had to buy a copy ahead of time. It sounded to me like a scam so I didn't give the site any of my information after that.

Also, one of my emails told me to send a link to all my friends so they could vote for my son's photo. Well my mother told me when she went to the link she had to give out her email and phone number to these people in order for her to vote. Sounds legit enough for me so I told her just to go ahead and do it. So she did and it took her to a site saying she won a free Apple ipad and wanted her address and credit card number for shipping.

And finally about an hour ago I received another email saying my son has been entered in a $25, 000 photo contest and he was one of the finalists. So I go to the link they sent me again and it was the same nonsense as before.

So if you see this contest I advise you not to enter. Otherwise you will have about 100 spam email's and a lot of hassle.

My last e mail back.. I am mad.
you know that is bull, If you look...i e mailed awhile back about this problem of no pix. and recieved a answer pic are there, also not one day has gone by w/ out me voting on all three, when i recieved that reply awhile back I explained that i chked websites about your photo contest and and listened to what your cust. serv person had said and gave a chance and still stayed on voting EVERYDAY never evr missing, why did you say that? when it is not true, I am disabled for 20 yrs and Mystie is my life, and tried to do my best for her/me and enjoy this contest believing what your cust. serv person said to me, about not paying attention to blogs etc. its pityful, how in god name can you live with yourselves knowing the hurt you are causing people who have hopes up high and proud of thier pets, and its a frarce to buy the book, I wanted the book so so bad, but i am in a bad, and I mean bad financial situation since my hubby passed away, losing my home every damn thing we worked so so hard for. we always helped others all our lives and believe in "KARMA", its unfornate I have to write this, and i its because I am in so much physical pain (spine) right now, and its worse due to my nerves right now.
I really dont know what to say that you already don't know and continue. to lie and hurt. I hope that is not the case and you just did not check my /our votes since i started, as I said Not 1 day went by w/ out a vote, even when I was in hospital, my caregiver put it in.

The Great American Photo Contest Pet Photo Entered

Update on the Great American Photo Contest emails to enter a contest by submitting a photo are still making big bucks off of people that are submitting them. The price of their book to see your picture in is now at $69.99. Others have purchased this book and have said it was a low rated quality and being very flimsey for the price. On top of that they said that their picture was very small and when they had paid the extra $10 to put a comment along side of their photo they had submitted it was never printed. Also don't forget the $20 they ask you for to enter the contest. Whether the photo is of a baby or pet, the emails are all the same to hook you in on their scam. In this case you don't get what you paid for as far as quality. That puts a red flag up on their contest also. As I put this information on they are running a contest for America's Most Adorable Pets $10, 000 cash prize for the winner. Your choice! Your money! God Bless Everyone and save your money times are hard now so don't get hooked.

This contest is in fact a scam. There's no way for anyone to even vote for your pets pic w/o giving up a phone number (cellphone) that states in the fine print you will be charged $9.99/mo. You can input a landline no. then a popup tells you to put in a legitimate cell no. but there's a pass link you can click on. You then have to go through two more marketing screens which you can alao click pass on. When you get to the pic you want to vote on, click on it..your vote does not get counted. You'll notice if you check on all the photos entered, they all have only one or two votes. My email is flooded everyday with junk from GAPC about how my pet has been picked by the publishers as one of the most adorable. They are nothing more than a marketing scam! Boston Terrier owner

I also received emails saying that my Dog's photo had been selected to be published in the book. I look at it this way, if they really think my dog is as adorable as I think he is they will put him in the book regardless of me sending them money! I am waiting it out, when I see the book for sale I will look through it & IF I see my handsome boy in the book, I will send them some money, I will order the book from them! Then & only then will I send them money! I have heard of this contest being a scam over & over. I have been conned before & I am not sending anyone any of my hard earned money until I have proof that they held up their end of the deal :) I would love to see my dog in a book, I think he deserves it...then again, I am partial to him! Anyway, my opinion is that it is a scam of some sort...We shall see!

Well, I saved a copy of the email they sent me plus a copy of the receipt of my purchase from them which I will submit to the Better Business Bureau along with my complaint against them if I do not receive my book by January 20 which will be exactly 5 months after the date I purchased and they said give 3-5 months. So, if you guys just happen to stumble upon this, consider yourself warned.

Most Adorable Pets in America is a SCAM!

I received an e-mail to submit a pet for the "Most Adorable Pets in America", it sounded good so I submitted my pet photo. The next morning I received an e-mail from them saying that my photo was accepted. I thought WOW! that was quick. It said to send $19.99 to submit photo, I sent them an e-mail back saying why would I pay for it to be submitted, & I won't send in the money. The next day I received another e-mail last chance to have your photo in the book for $64.99 get your copy limited copies available, I sent back & they never contacted me again. SCAM...SCAM...SCAM don't do it

The Great American Photo Contest Unauthorized charges

I sent them $20 so my baby could be entered in a contest and never heard anything else. They just kept sending me the same thing 'your photo has already been selected just send $20 for entry fee' after i already sent the money.

I e-mailed them over and over again and no response i really don't care if i get the money back because i probably want i just want to see them stopped and punished for it.

I didn't have to pay to enter the contest, but to get through and actually vote there are several spam ads. Yes, you can skip MOST of them, but I got to a point where they wanted my cell number so they could send me text messages and charge something like $8.95 a month just to move on in the voting process. I had seen "skip" on all the other ads, but there was no skip button on that one, so I was not able to complete the voting process and had to then warn all of my family and friends that this contest was probably just a scam. :( What a bummer.

Well Sh'Ronda,
You're the first person I've ever heard of being able to participate in a contest with the company they work with. Usually television and radio state that you cannot be employed or affiliated in any way with the company, so I don't really believe you! I also think you & everyone needs to Proofread!

WOW! I just can "NOT" believe all the negitive comments about "GREAT AMEICAN PHOTO! I really must say i don't know what website some of you logged into, however their is no money requierd to enter this contest. Secondly the ads you see do not mean you have to accept them that's why u have the option to skip it! I's just like going to the movies and seeing all the up coming attraction or getting junkmail ect... and all the ads you see are all the companies who "SPONSOR" G.A.P so that they are able to give the prize of $2, 500 each month. I do not work for this company however i will say they are 100% LEGIT! Not only did i enter my son but he is (September's Winner!) Tommy now has $2, 500.00 extra dollars to ad to his savings account! So before you TRY to slander or keep trash talking this company do your homework! Last but sertainly not least Thank You Great American Photo! For all who enter just know that the votes just don't appear you have to get your family and friends to vote as well.Who knows you just might recieve a phone call from the CEO of this wonderful and honest company like i did telling you that your beutiful child is the winner! GREAT AMERICAN PHOTO is NOT a SCAM so give it a try your child mahy be the next WINNER! Sh'Ronda B.

Hi there! While I would LOVE to be able to jump on the naysayer bandwagon... I feel compelled to clear the air for all those parents out there who want to show off their beautiful babies. In November(I think) of 2007, I submitted a photo of my daughter, along with $20 to the "Fame & Fortune Contest" - please note, the Fame & Fortune Contest IS a part of the Great American Photo Contest... however, it's the alternate contest where you actually pay an entry fee...and I believe it's a bi-annual contest. They also have the free entry contest that occurs monthly, and yes, you DO have to deal with the spam of ads and offers... how do you think they keep the contest free? But I digress... the point here is to tell you... IT'S LEGIT! How cool it was to find out last Thanksgiving (November 2008) that we had won the Grand Prize! As it states on the rules you get a U.S. Treasury Bond... which means, yes, it's valued @ $25, 000... but you gotta wait until it matures... but hey, it's a VALID, US TREASURY BOND... and wow! You WON! Additionally, we were so excited to have had the opportunity to meet Mr. Gillon (CEO) and his family when they came down to personally deliver the prize. They also brought my daughter a trophy so that she had a tangible memory! Not only that, but we got our 15 minutes of fame...we were published in the local paper, The Orland Sentinel...and then... just this past month... we were proud to see our picture in none other than People Magazine!

Moral to this story: think of ALL the people who enter these contests and the hundred or so who may have had an issue with them... think of other large companies that suffer similar statistics. I'm not negating other people's complaints... what I AM saying is that the contest IS a valid contest. People DO win... and if my daughter hadn't exceeded the age group limit... I'd be entering her again! I think she's JUST...THAT...CUTE. So for all you parents who want to show off your kids, this is a contest worthy enough to give it a shot!

I submitted my daughters picture, and they are asking for 20$ but it was never on the original site that there would be any fee's to enter... HaHa! "better luck next time".. Im glad i found the complaint board, or i probably would've considered it. What parent doesn't mind throwing 20$ on thier child on any contest.. It also makes you think its legit with the photo of your kid and a seal they send back, 25, 000 is a great amount to help with college... GREAT AMERICAN PHOTO IS A BUNCH OF BullHOcKey!
IT never hurts to check things out before you purchase online... And it wont bother your child if you do either... THANKS AGAIN COMPLAINT BOARD

This website (http://www.greatamericanphotocontest.com) is a scam. I, being a new parent, thought it would be fun to enter my daughter's picture into a contest to see how she did.
