This company is the worst ever
This company is the worst ever. Once they have your money, it's over. They never return calls and they lie right to your face. They had the audacity to suggest filing for Chapter 7 and dropping the 13, just so they could make me pay them again. Someone should take that man's license and shut down this company. They don't help at all and the people in *** don't listen. This man deserves to be punished for the pain and suffering he causes people after taking their money. This company is terrible, so run away and don't go to ***. They won't help you, so don't go. Lord have mercy on their soul. The whole company is a fraud.
I filed bankruptcy with The Semrad Law Firm, LLC back in 2016
I filed bankruptcy with The Semrad Law Firm, LLC back in 2016. My payments were automatically taken from my payroll. When they needed paperwork, it was turned in on time. I called them in September to let them know I changed jobs. The lady I spoke with said I only had $1000 left and it would be discharged in February . She was supposed to email me the documents I needed for my new job, but I never received them or any calls from their office about payments. I just found out that my case was dismissed because I didn't submit my 2019 tax info. The only reason I found out was when I tried to get a new car and it showed up on my credit report. I never received any calls or emails telling me to submit this or my case would be dismissed. I've been calling all morning to get this resolved, but I keep getting placed on hold for over 3 hours. I'm really angry with this company. I worked too hard for them to steal from me.

In April , I finally finished paying off my bankruptcy. They said my case would be checked and I'd get my completion certificate in two weeks. But now it's July and the *** still says my case is "available for audit". I called the *** and they told me to call the downtown *** office. I called that office and they said someone would get in touch with me. After a few days with no response, I called every day and only managed to talk to office staff. I filed for chapter 13 bankruptcy in July 2022 to keep my vehicle and consolidate all my debt
I filed for chapter 13 bankruptcy in July 2022 to keep my vehicle and consolidate all my debt. I went to the hearing and set up a payment plan where they would take money from my work check. I made all the payments on time every week. I didn't get any calls, letters, or emails, so I thought everything was fine. But on October 24, they took my car because I hadn't paid since May. I have no idea where the money from my checks went. I tried to contact them and left messages, but they didn't call me back. I looked through my email and found Ndc.org, where I can check my case's status. I didn't know that my case was dismissed on October 10th. But they're still taking money from me. On October 21, I paid them almost 2k, but only about $200 went towards my car. And now it's been repossessed. They need to communicate better and let me know what's happening.
About six months ago, the Semrad Law Firm had my Chapter 13 case dismissed even though I had already paid them in full
About six months ago, the Semrad Law Firm had my Chapter 13 case dismissed even though I had already paid them in full. Before they filed for dismissal, I had spoken to Debtstoppers and made arrangements to continue making payments to them to prevent the filing. They agreed and started receiving direct payments from my paycheck, but still filed for dismissal. The court granted their request, but they continued to deduct money from my paycheck. When the deductions finally stopped, I called them to ask when I would receive my refund. They told me it would take two or three weeks, but I received nothing. I called again and asked, and they said I would get it soon. I waited another week, but still nothing. When I called again, they didn't answer, and they didn't even call me back as they usually do. They owe me $560.00, and I really want my refund. This is why they closed my case in the first place. They agreed to accept payments and had my Chapter 13 case dismissed even though I had paid them in full.
I filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy
I filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy. I just found out that my vehicle reaffirmation wasn't filed right with the auto finance company and now they won't add this debt back to my credit file. I'm really unhappy because getting my car reaffirmed was the first thing I wanted to do to rebuild my credit with my on-time payments and eventual payoff. The auto finance company said they tried to contact my lawyer multiple times to fix the document so it would be accepted, but they didn't get any response and the reaffirmation wasn't accepted. I did everything I was supposed to with the law firm and now the attorney who handled my case won't reply to my emails or voicemails about explaining and fixing this problem. The law firm was responsive while the case was going on. This is a big mistake that needs to be fixed so I can keep having a good credit history.
Long story short
Long story short. Paying for a vehicle that was totaled out by State Farm on a chapter 13 bankruptcy filed in 20*** case # -B17968 with Debt Stoppers. Attorney *** are handling My case. I'm still paying for a vehicle totaled out & paid in full through State Farm in the amount owed of $ *** on 2/21/22. My only responsibility owed on My bankruptcy now is Indiana State taxes of $ *** & the monthly amount taken from My check every month is $385.00. I am due to retire next year in 2023 & do not want this hanging over My head. This company calls, email & send out letters when You 1st file & then after that, They ghost on You. All I've been asking for is for the vehicle to be removed ( court ordered ) & My TRUE balance owed for the Indiana taxes d so I can pay in full & be done with this case. I now recommend *** to ANYONE that falls behind on Their bills & see no other way out or either pay something on Your debt. DEBT STOPPERS are NOT a dependable company.
I'm currently under a Chapter 13 with Debt Stoppers
I'm currently under a Chapter 13 with Debt Stoppers. I've been trying to reach them by phone and fax for about a month now. Because of COVID-19, they have people answering the phones and taking messages. I've left so many messages, but still no return call. I've even faxed my request three times, but still no response. I'm behind on my mortgage and I need to modify my Chapter 13 to include my past due amount in order to save my home. The lender has been working with me and said they'll start accepting payments once my debt is included in my Chapter 13. The trustee deducts my debt payment faithfully every two weeks. The lawyer from Debt Stoppers has already been paid in full for over three months. Now, I feel like they don't want to assist me anymore. It doesn't seem fair, and I feel discriminated against. We're in a pandemic right now, which is already stressful for me and my family. On top of that, I have to deal with the possibility of losing my home and becoming homeless because no one is helping me inform the trustee about the modification I need for my Chapter 13. I'm considering reaching out to the media soon.
I filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2020 for an *** debt cuz of foreclosure after my divorce
I filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2020 for an *** debt cuz of foreclosure after my divorce. On 6/16 I got a letter sayin' some docs were missin', so I told the lawyer *** and he said he took care of it. Then I got another letter sayin' the case got dismissed, so I reached out to the lawyer again and he got it reinstated. The chapter 7 bankruptcy got done and I wanted to make sure the *** debt was included, so *** said it was. On 8/23, I got a letter from *** sayin' I still owed money. I contacted the lawyer again and he said he'd handle it. But I never heard back. Then *** got in touch sayin' she'd handle my case, but I never heard back from her either. Finally, after callin' the law firm a bunch of times, *** the lawyer called me on 2/2/2022 sayin' she'd take over my case. I reached out to the *** and got my transcripts and sent 'em all to *** (the lawyer). The *** said the debt was in the bankruptcy at one point, but then it got taken out. They think it happened when the case got dismissed and it didn't get added back in. And of course, she hasn't returned any of my texts or calls like I expected. I talked to the *** to get an extension 'til the bankruptcy gets fixed. I got proof of all the unanswered calls and texts. Obviously, since I paid everything, they don't feel the need to get back to me. I did my part, but they didn't do their job right or complete. The law firm needs to finish this. I ain't givin' up 'til it's resolved. It's been a month and they still ain't answered any of my calls or texts.
I filed a Chapter 13 with Semrad Law Firm in February to pay the arrears on my rental properties due to my divorce
I filed a Chapter 13 with Semrad Law Firm in February to pay the arrears on my rental properties due to my divorce. They charged $4000 and have been paid in full. First, PNC Bank does not send me statements and I missed quite a few payments. However, when Codelis and Associates, the attorney for PNC filed a motion to lift the stay unless I brought the account current, I paid what was owed. In 2021, I asked PNC for COVID-19 relief due to the tenant that was struggling with the payments. After 9 months of forbearance, I was able to resume making mortgage payments. Because of the status of the loan, PNC requested that I complete a hardship request to see if I would qualify for a loan mod which I did. In the meantime, Codelis filed another motion to lift the stay unless I brought the account current or the stay would be automatically lifted. I tried getting ahold of my attorney S. Miljuis and his paralegals to let them know that I was waiting on PNC to review my hardship package for a loan mod but he never responded and PNC was able to get the stay lifted. The motion filed by Codelis states no further payments are to be distributed to PNC as of 3/30/2022. On March 30, the Trustee made a payment of $3347.38 and another payment on April 28 in the amount of $1115.76. I tried contacting S. Miljuis countless times in regards to this issue, but he never responds. Also, my loan with US Bank NA was sold to ***, but the Trustee is continuing to pay US Bank. Payments were made to US Bank NA on 3/30/2022 in the amount of $353.44 and again on 4/28/2022 in the amount of $117.81. I was granted a loan mod with *** in March 2022. They sent the paperwork that I need to sign to Semrad Law Firm. I never received anything from Semrad. If the Trustee stopped paying PNC and US Bank NA, and the funds were applied to the other arrears I have remaining, my Chapter 13 would be completed. My calls and emails go unanswered. No one will get back to me.
