I placed an order for four Dickies pants for my godson. When I received the package, there was only three, the Charcoal size 14 was missing. I initially called customer service on Friday or Saturday (August 18th or 19th) and I was told that I would be called back. Monday came and I was never called back, so I called today which is Tuesday, August 22nd. I was told that their manager would contact me via email shortly. I ended up receiving the email that I will attach a screen shot of. I was told “You may contact your local authorities to file a report” and that they closed my missing item claim. I called back in immediately, I asked the representative if I could speak to a manager about this because I needed to know if I would contact the mailing company that handled the package (Not sure if it’s USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc) but I asked “Would I file a report with them since they’re the ones who handled the package or do you guys literally mean going down to the police station to file a report that a pair of pants was missing from my Tilly’s package?” The representative told me the manager was not available to speak to me but he could ask him for clarification on my question. He gets back on the phone and he stated “Yes, you would have to contact the police department.” I replied “That seems outrageous that I would go down to the police station for a missing pair of pants from a Tilly’s package or even call 911 for this matter.” I’ve never heard something so outlandish before but if this really is the only way then I suppose I have no choice but to do so. Is this really protocol for handling something so minuscule? Because it seems like I’m being messed with. Either way, I’m emailing to file a formal complaint on this matter. Also, if there is another email that I can contact in addition, please let me know. I can’t believe that the company is ran this way and treats their customers so poorly.
Desired outcome: I want my money back for the missing pants or a replacement.
