Tomb of the Mask Great Gameplay, Tired Monetary Model

I found the mechanics, controls, art and graphics, sound effects and just everything gameplay-wise about this title to be great. I believe, "Tomb of the Mask", is a game I could see myself playing on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, the developer of this game fell prey to the unscrupulous and unethical lure of trying to con gullible, naive or just plain dumb customers into paying him money every time they open the game up. Through another tired and pathetic in-app purchase/micro-transaction currency system. In my opinion, 99.99% of the time that in-app purchases are used in video games today, the motive for said use stems from immoral and unethical greed. Why make one sale from your customers when you can try to strike it rich by constantly draining a never-ending supply of cash from them every time they play your rigged game.

Sadly, I've found today that developers selling quality game titles for a one-time, fair and reasonable price, are very much in the minority now. Had this developer done that and sold the entire game and all of its functions for one single price I would have been glad to give him my hard earned money. But, I refuse to throw away cash on a retarded cycle of micro-transactions to fully experience everything the game has to offer. Luckily, though, as I said, there still are a few developers and or studios out there who haven't fallen into to the fetid practice of leasing their games to customers and still offer value for money spent.

Considering my immense, unfettered loathing for all things in-app purchase/micro-transaction-related. Well, I personally feel generous leaving a neutral three stars as my rating for this video game. If this developer ever decides to curtail his avarice and sell this game for one price, devoid of micro-transactions. I'll gladly purchase it and positively review it accordingly. Instead of continually throwing your money away here, I highly recommend saving it and buying a title that is in-app purchase-free instead. Again, though, I do appreciate the fun gameplay and aesthetics that I believe the game has going for it. It's just too bad in my opinion that the developer's business ethics are so pathetically predictable in today's bogus mobile gaming climate.

Tomb of the Mask Addictive

The game is fun and has just the right amount of easy vs hard levels to keep the player engaged.

Though one of my biggest gripes comes from the frequency of ads. While this is a game I’m far more willing to watch ads on as it has a level of quality behind it, getting a 30 second to a minute ad after one of the easier levels (taking less than 30 seconds in one try to beat) can get really annoying really fast as they start to break up the flow of play.

There is also somewhat of a problem with the hit box in the menus. One such example is that the x in the first menu after you beat a level doesn’t work, you have to hit to continue and then hit the x on the following menu (the one to proceed into the next level). Another such problem is on the chest menu after you’ve opened one, if you accidentally hit the screen during the cool down for cancel to be an option you pay 200 coins to open another chest (you don’t even have to press anywhere near the button) - and the cancel button has a similar problem where it’ll sometimes make you open another chest despite clearly hitting cancel.

My only other problem is the energy system, there’s too few energy and it regenerates too slowly. It doesn’t even serve to limit playtime properly because as long as you don’t die no energy is wasted. However, some levels are hard enough that a fair bit of players will loose the majority of their energy on it and only get to play for a minute or so before they run out - making it so you can only play for 1-2 minutes sometimes. And this isn’t a problem solved by arcade, as quite a few players prefer the premade levels over the randomly generated one.
Though arcade could be changed to fix the energy problem and provide more of an incentive to play arcade outside of the frankly repetitive achievements. For every so many points you earn in arcade you gain an energy. Make it a relatively high number based partially based on the players level.
In general, limiting play in the type of game people often play to waste time (like while waiting for something or while on a long trip) is kinda stupid - especially when using a system tied not to time, but to your own skill level - the players who are unskilled are forced to not be able to improve because they can’t play for more than 3 minutes at a time and must wait at least another 30 minutes to 2 and a half hours to get another chance to improve.

Tomb of the Mask Fantastic until the subscription update

This game is great- simple addictive, rewarding, beautifully designed but the subscription update is still sloppy, which is I’m rating at four stars.

First, about the subscription: $8 per week — what? I love this game but absolutely not, that is insane amount for a subscription let alone a mobile game. I don’t know who with what kinda salary thought that was reasonable but it’s ridiculously outlandish. That’s $32 dollars a month on a mobile game. The subscription gives you free coins daily, unlimited energy (lives) and takes three of the masks and makes them subscription only (there’s also a fourth mask I think was designed for the subscription update)

Free coins seems unnecessary as coins are bountiful and you never have to grind for them.

Unlimited energy makes a little more sense but in arcade mode only. Its good having a limit so I have to put the game down but honestly I rarely run out of lives unless I’m playing arcade mode.

The masks though is the one that gets me. I had unlocked three makes through opening chests and now I can’t use them. The real kicker is the button still reads ‘select’ as if I can still select them but no- they’re subscription only. They should read ‘subscription only’ so I’m not closing and opening the game thinking it’s a fluke glitch then seeing the pop-up add for subscription again and putting the pieces together.

Also the ‘watch ad to double reward’ option is only on the free chest (it used to be every chest) and that button on the free chest also mysteriously doesn’t work. Is this now also a subscription only thing?

And now I get one generic pop up ad and one TotM subscription ad every time I open the game. I paid for no pop-ups, I get the subscription one (if it eventually goes away but you gotta promote- I get it) but the generic one makes me want a refund.

The subscription might make sense for people who want to speed run and dump it but I doubt that’s the majority of players. It’s an arcade so even if you burned through all of story mode (which I believe gets updated anyways) there would the unlimited playable content of arcade mode. I just can’t see how someone would justify $32 monthly on this.

But ridiculous subscription aside. Can we please get an update that properly labels subscription only content?

Ps: Also I’d be stoked if we got ‘watch ad to double reward’ back. Me watching ads benefits you so why not give me the option to do that?

Tomb of the Mask Impressive Piece, Very Fun

When I saw an ad for this game, I enjoyed the little demo and decided to download it. The gameplay is simple, fun, challenging without being punishing, and I found myself addicted instantly. I was impressed by the art style and animation, and the game is solidly built. I test software for a living, and I always try to break the apps I play—I ran into only a single glitch in the entire game, and I took a screenshot for posterity, not even caring that it cost me a life. I can’t remember the level unfortunately, only that it involved rising lava and teleports, and somehow the teleport put me outside the wall of the level. I ended up shooting myself off into nothingness and waited for the lava to claim me. Probably the most amusing glitch I have ever seen in a while.

The only critique I have ever had with this game are the moving buzzsaw items; if you end up dying to one or near one, reviving teleports you right back in its path and kills you instantly. This seems like a bit of a design flaw since death is usually easy to recover from, with obstacles either paused or destroyed to prevent you from dying instantly upon revival. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed in a future update, since this is the only obstacle that has ever truly frustrated me to the point of quitting after losing three energy in a row due to dying in the same spot in a level, and being unable to revive.

Normally I’m wary of free to play games because of various money traps, but this game isn’t one. The ads may seem excessive initially, but the option to pay to remove ads is always a welcome one, and I’m always willing to watch ads to gain power ups on my own time. There is a slight problem with slowdown from banner ads, but this is an issue across most games I play with banner ads, so I don’t consider it a problem with the game itself. You aren’t pressured to buy anything, and the game is easy to play without spending money, especially if you’re willing to drop the money to cover the Remove Ads feature. There’s also a subscription option for players, which I’m normally wary of, but given you can enjoy the game to its fullest without it, I see it as a way to support the developers and get a little bonus out of it in the meanwhile.

Tl;dr - This is a great game that’s fun to play, and it’s easy to enjoy even if you don’t have the money to spend on a subscription or a ton of in-app purchases. Well worth the price, and still one of my favorites to play.

Tomb of the Mask Your thumbs will thank you

I'm gonna start off by saying that the only bad thing about this game is the in-app purchases and ads. Though, it's much better here than most other games on the App Store, and most of the time the Ads are optional to help get you lives or coins (which is awesome)! And the in-app purchases really aren't so bad either, with lots of benefits!

The good thing about this game is pretty much all of it. It's fast paced procedurally generated arcade mode is my favorite because I can just play over and over and there's no penalty for dying other than having to restart. You only gain coins and score from playing and you don't subtract any from dying. This is the perfect kind of game design for a mobile game. I never feel like I am stuck in a timed raid or have to get to the end of a run to get my points, it's so liberating. Oh also it's super satisfying to get a really high score! Not to mention, the sound effects in this game are top tier, I'm at the point where I don't need to buy anything with the coins but I still go after them because collecting them makes an extremely satisfying sound (and slight phone rumble)!
The graphics also, they're amazingly stylish and beautiful. You could say it's "bad" graphics because it's designed to look pixelated, but if you're that type of person why are you playing any kind of video games anyway. I think the pixelated design adds simplicity and creativity to the graphics, as there's a lot of hidden detail everywhere. Like how the arrow shooters are not simply boxes that shoot arrows but they open their mouths to shoot and also light up. Great game design there but also it looks magnificent too! In fact, pretty much everything that's dangerous becomes highlighted first to let you know that there's danger and that is fantastic, I never feel like I died because the game pulled a cheap one. It feels fair every time!
For those who prefer no timer, go at your own pace puzzles the "campaign" mode is for you. I love how creative the level design can get, and how the difficulty is given to the player very gradually instead of all the dangers at once you are introduced to them one at a time.

If this game was on NES or somewhere else I would play it there too because it's so much fun but, I think being on Mobile is the perfect place for this game. It's definitely designed to be played on a phone and it plays to every strength it can. I would say this is as much of a classic to me as Temple Run is, though this game is prettier. 10/10!

Tomb of the Mask USER CREATED LEVELS. Please!

Great game, always able to keep me entertained for hours, if I let it. However, my favorite part about the game is the levels. Problem is, there’s a limited number of them. But users can design their own levels and upload them for others to play, the devs won’t have to lift a finger, and there will be countless more levels! I think that’s a win-win situation. The game will have endless replay ability. Of course, if it’s necessary to make a purchase for this content, the participating player base would be much smaller, and there wouldn’t be nearly as many unique, cool levels for people to enjoy.

Which brings me to another point. Seriously? This game has great design, but it can be a giant money grab a lot of the time. The ads are terrible, almost makes the game not worth playing. I made the $2.99 purchase to get rid of the ads (I’m not happy about it ) and it’s been better, but even still, ads are pushed far too much in return for in-game items/favors. As for the so-called “diamond” subscription, $8 per WEEK is RIDICULOUS. People are NOT going to pay that much for a few extra masks and coins, even with the unlimited energy and no ads. Spotify and Apple Music charge $10 per MONTH for their services, and to be honest, for something that is much more valuable and useful to me. I mean, I understand that you want to make money (don’t we all?) but this just shows complete disregard for the fan base of this game. The ads are already around enough that you have to be making quite a lot from them compared to other games, especially since this one is so popular. I think you would even make more money off of the game if the prices were more reasonable, and possibly getting rid of the subscription service, because if it’s more affordable people would be more willing to fork out some cash. I might pay $20 to get all of the perks and forever, but certainly not more.
Overall, it’s a great game, but the very frequent and nearly unavoidable advertisements, bad energy system, and the insanely priced subscription-based IAPs are hard to get over.

Overall, I’m giving it 4 stars because even though the overall design is very flawed, I really enjoy the game itself and I see tons of potential. I really hope the devs see this and maybe start thinking about some of my points. Especially about the user created levels! I’m SURE that if that was implemented, popularity would skyrocket and people would be playing it for much longer. That would be very cool to see. So great job on the game, keep it up!

Tomb of the Mask This game so far

Before I start, let me say that I love this game. Personally, I payed for the no ads option and have been playing before the introduction of the premium feature.

Let me clarify and set the record straight by saying that this game is phenomenal gameplay-wise. The combination of fast-paced action with required patience makes the gameplay excellent. Everything else with the game does have room for improvement.

One thing I’d like to see from this game is an option to not get spammed with the premium membership offer. Every single time I open up the app, the first thing I see after the title is the offer to join a premium membership. This also occurs whenever you leave the app and come back. Please incorporate some sort of toggle feature for these admittedly annoying pop-ups. Furthermore, the premium membership itself is something I need to talk about. Almost all of the masks of the premium membership have been directly stolen from free to play players that have had the masks in the past. I was at a point where I had all of the masks in the game. One day, I was not able to access some of the masks I had. I brushed it off as some sort of glitch. After time had passed, I deleted the app; later on, I re-downloaded the app. Once I saw that my previously inaccessible skins have been used for a premium membership, I felt betrayed. I understand the reasoning, but at the very least, you could have made 3 other new masks instead of stealing 3 and creating 1.

Another thing I’d like to see from the game is an option to start on the difficult levels of arcade mode. As you progress through the arcade mode, the level of difficulty rises with more rare and intricate layouts. It would be nice to start on a high level of the arcade.

Finally, I would like to report a small issue with the game. I personally play the game using 2 thumbs. One thumb for up and down swipes, and the other for left and right. When I play the game at a fast speed, I am obviously bound to make mistakes. But when I accidentally tap and swipe, the game counts it as a double tap. The result of this is that my shield is activated without my intent. There are no settings, to my knowledge, that disable this double tap feature. I would suggest that you would make this feature have a toggle. I have no idea what the pointer finger option does. I have tested in arcade mode using this option to determine its use. I initially thought that it would turn off the double tap. However, at both trials, it seemed the outcome was the same. Please tell us what this mysterious finger option does.

Thanks.

Tomb of the Mask Stupid, hard & awesome

It’s not your fault that you made it is stupid and hard but I swipe where the path goes and it leads to the wrong way that makes me die, it was feeling trapped so I wouldn’t tap enough for this..I was forbidden from swiping correctly, usually I never get to lose or win but either way this feature needs to stop losing my mind or mega game. Actually I get hypothetic from this game for swiping, it’s to fast for this hypothetical game to make me real win, but I realized that I keep trying to win quests/arcade for coins but I actually wasted my coins by accident somehow, it was already ready to get started on the game. Hypothetically...I deserved that for some bad respect about your game, my fault ‍♀️ but I don’t understand...you some fix some swiping bugs. I was actually loving your game but this happened for some technical reasons and why I care because “I love your game”. Also I kept resetting it...also it ruined my data but one time I revived myself to watch an ad but the ad’s time wasn’t over and I couldn’t exit yet, but while that it just killed me my it’s self. So I judged about it in a broken heart... so I deserved everything about that- But above my disrespectful brain it was getting even worse, I played many times in an arcade and it was an annoying mode, it got too fast but nothing happened. The timer didn’t go down while that also, that was some mysterious glitch but I accidentally “almost” broke my phone for arguing ..with it. This feature is actually pretty true “cool” because I was disrespectful and distracted by this game! Here are some updates for your game:

1. Add questions to earn coins also when you get some questions correct, you “won” coins!

2. Add eventually a fun feature that are: Being invisible to not get killed but when you touch the killing stuff, you are still invisible and not getting killed - invisible timer: 0:12

3. Add another feature that is also fun, being fast and speed like sonic, speed timer: 0:08

4. Sabotaging “breaking” the betraying stuff or killing stuff to get broken without hurting our characters or having some weapons, Sabotaging killing stuff timer: 0:08

5. Add a practicing center to practice and swipe a lot to get better!

6. Making your own stage “level” to play with your own build mode and add slots.

7. Invited friends or add friends by adding an “Meet Friends!” button to make friends and buddies to play with. :)

8. Add some clothes like: Shirts, pants, sleeves, shoes, socks, hats, jacket, mask, headband and face accessories.

| ~ Results ~ |

Ok! That’s enough updates for you! Thank you so much for reading. :)

Tomb of the Mask lives

the whole lives thing gets on my nerves so much. occasionally, if i’m lucky, i get the option of another life if i watch a video. which is great! love that a lot. but most of the time it’s not there. that’s just really cool, y’know? SO cool. BUT the app then goes on to make me watch an ad right as soon as i officially lose the life for dying. why? would you not offer me the option of watching a video for a life every time? if you’re going to get ad money either way? like this benefits both of us my dude. mutualism. you get ad revenue and i get a retry. you give AND take. you can’t just get your ad money and leave me hanging! this game drives me insane on the harder levels where i end up with only five tries because the video for a life option is almost never there. this is absolutely a spur-of-the moment anger-fueled rage quit, but i’m SO fed up and no game has ever frustrated me this much. please have just a LITTLE pity on the broke boiz like me who cannot afford to buy anything and just want a game i can use to pass time for more than two whole minutes.

edit:
okay i’m BACK AND ANGRIER THAN EVER. i really love this game, and it has so much potential to be an incredible app, but the LIVES! MY GOD! I CANT PLAY THIS GODFORSAKEN GAME LONGER THAN ONE FRUSTRATING MINUTE AT A TIME! i would once again like to complain about the stupid stupid STUPID life policy or whatever it is. honestly, if you ask me, it should be a GIVEN that you have unlimited lives on a game like this, not something you have to pay for. at the very least make the regeneration option more accessible. i’m totally fine with using an ad to regenerate and then seeing another ad when i finish the level, but to die, get mad at how i died, and then see another ad? that’s cold, man. way to rub salt in the wound. like maybe my connection is bad, that’s cool, but it’s clearly NOT most of the time since the app easily plays an ad after! and aside from all of this is yet another option that will make me stop considering deleting the app and saving myself the mental breakdown after every time i play: just make the life regeneration wait time shorter! thirty minutes seems WAY excessive, since you can blow through all five lives in less than that. if i didn’t have to wait so long, i’d stay on the app longer, thus giving you MORE ad revenue! why would you make it like this? is it some stupid reverse psychology thing? because my dude, there are much easier ways to convince people to stay and play your app, such as, i don’t know, GIVING THEM WHAT THEY WANT! i’ve read a few of the negative reviews, and every single ONE was about lives and/or ad issues. i totally understand getting ads, since this is a free app and all, but the way the ads occur is getting on my last nerve. please do something about this, i’m losing my whole mind over here!

Tomb of the Mask Controls not reliable, needs buttons

I've reached level 145, and my high score in the arcade is 31k.
-At first I liked it, even with all the ads

-NOW I swipe to the side and it'll swoosh me up or I'll swipe up and it'll take me in another direction, often times this will either significantly slow my progress when I'm trying to run from the water in arcade mode, I also have tried doing it slowly when the freeze block thing is active, and the swipe controls are no longer reliable
>there needs to be an option where you can use arrow buttons instead of swiping, I go to settings and theres a square with a finger touching something, and I've clicked it so its on and it's crossed off, and I havn't noticed a difference with it on vs with it off

-I've noticed that with some of the higher levels there'll be chunks of the level that are exact copies of some previous levels and it's both confusing and disappointing because it's like what level is this?!?! And also if I'm watching all those ads and giving you guys that much ad money I want to be playing something new that's not just a copy of a previous level, lol, I'd be really mad if I had actually paid for anything.

-I will say though, especially with some of the levels in between 100-145 that they're really well done and creative with the clear blocks that go hard when you pass through them, especially that level that had a big chunk of a bunch of those clear blocks and you kinda go in a circle to make them hard and kinda work your way over to the left until you pass through that block and then you continue with the level, and also the spinning and transport blocks are pretty cool

-It is not ok to put a 5 second ad everytime the player exits out of a level or arcade or goes to the next level, because I've already had to go through several 30 sec ads to revive or to get a shield or whatnot, ads may get you money, but they also make the player want to delete your game. There's a fine balance between getting your money from ads and keeping people playing your game so they watch the ads. With those 5sec ads YOU CROSSED THE LINE.

-So far I've only ran into it 1 time, but i the arcade theres a bonus level that's literally impossible to get to, there's 3 blocks lined up horizontally that travel vertically, and the hole they kinda pass by is only 3 blocks wide, when you pass by the hole you're traveling horizontally so you either go right past it, or you land on the side of one of the moving blocks and stop it when it moves towards the hole, but there is no way to travel vertically into the hole, and that is a no no. Also sometimes a powerup will be positioned in a place in the arcade mode where it is 100% impossible to get to and there'll be a dead end that's running horizontally and thats perpendicular to a vertical pathway and it's like a T intersection and it's literally not possible to get to for anyone.

Tomb of the Mask Please Read

Hello Developers. I have been playing this game for 2 months now and I must say — I absolutely LOVE it! I have completed all levels with all stars and I’m now focusing on improving my arcade score and leveling up. There is something I’d like to share or go over with you in order to make this game even better, which is why I gave it four stars.

Decrease Ad Quantity
Now, I get it, you want to make money off of this very popular game with ads. I totally understand that way and do agree with that process, but do ads really have to appear as frequently as they do in this game? Without my airplane mode on, I do not enjoy this game whatsoever. It really pains me to see that after or before EVERY level or arcade run, I am always greeted with an ad which cannot be skipped. I understand this marketing strategy however I know many people who don’t play this game anymore or don’t play as frequently because of how often ads come up. It’s so unfortunate to see how people are dropping this game VERY quickly because of how much ads come up.

Level Editor
Unlike the last paragraph, this section isn’t a complaint! I love this game and am astonished with how creative the levels, traps, and map design are. I really enjoy this game to the fullest, but there is something that could make it even better. Now that levels don’t come out as frequently, some users may not have a desire to play this game anymore. I get it — finishing a game 100% and being left with an endless arcade with not much to achieve really makes the journey of this game boring. This was the only game I had on my phone (because I played and enjoyed it so much) for a while before I completed the entire story mode run. It would be nice to include a level editor which allows you to set multiple things such as trap placements, point placements, map color, map design, and more! It would be really sweet to play with my friends and try out our own levels. Even making a competition out of it or something. It would really allow me to enjoy this game so much more and make endless possibilities in terms of difficulty. With functions similar to Super Mario Maker in the level editor, this game would be so much more fun and I have no doubt it would be even more popular.

More Masks
This is more of a cosmetic part of the game which I love the concept of! Different sounds, looks, and effects to spice up gameplay and motivate you to play more. I just wish there were more masks which required you to unlock them with actual challenges. For example, one mask could be unlocked by obtaining a certain amount of stars. In addition to this, another mask could be unlocked just by completing a certain amount of challenges (since there is basically no other use for coins after unlocking all masks...).

This game has potential to be the best free game on the App Store, I really believe it! But, there are some things the developers have to add in order to really spice things up and encourage users to play and stay in the game’s environment. Thank you for reading!

Tomb of the Mask It has fatal bugs

Sure this game is fun and challenging but the fun is ruined due to glitchy, and even unresponsive controls.

Where do I start?

So when you have one of those orbs that chase you through the tomb or when you have the blue field slowly rising from the bottom, time is of the essence. Well nope, that’s really when the game screws you over as calm swipes are registered, but when you need to move fast, the controls become unresponsive, which in my case always meant death. The most recent incident, was just the round prior to me writing this review. I needed to move down. I swiped down three times but the character simply would not move and so I died.

Let’s talk about moving in the wrong direction. When I swipe left, especially when trying get past a bunch of arrow shooting heads, timing is important. And to make sure the first couple of times wasn’t just a panic swipe in the wrong direction I made a conscious effort and observed my swiping on the screen. Low and behold there is another glitch which causes your mask to move in the direction opposite to the swipe, which in most cases sent me into a death trap.

Let’s talk about the moving platforms. Trying to get off of them while in motion tends to send you downwards instead, into a blue wall. Not advised to get off while in motion.

Next, and my least favorite, teleportation glitches. When you get teleported on a high level map, there exists a small chance you may teleport off the map and into the empty. It’s almost like watching a Pokémon Blue game glitch out. You can’t recover from that except to exit out and restart which of course costs an energy. This brings me to the last item.

It’s nice there exists an ad-free in app purchase for $2.99, but I expect it to actually be ad-free. It’s terrible enough the ad version jams an ad in there whenever possible, but honestly now, a revive shouldn’t require you to watch an ad to do after purchasing the ad-free package. I have half a mind of having apple reverse those charges as continuing to play the game forces you to continue to watch ads. Stupid. The true ad-free version is this ridiculous Diamond Membership for $7.99 per week, which lets you play for free an unlimited number of times without having to recharge your energy, and you get 4 masks to go with it, ooh. I wonder if you lose these masks if you cancel the subscription. For that weekly price which boils down to over $30 per month on average, I would expect more. My Pandora, Netflix, and Hulu subscriptions combined cost less than that.

Just for reference, I’m on stage 102, so I’m not just bad or inexperienced with the game.

If you’re still reading this, I hope this review helps. The game itself is fun, the 8-bit UI is gorgeous, but it needs fixing in terms of controls and needs a new ad structure. It smells like an attempt to really rake in the money.

If your a developer reading this, please take this as constructive criticism as I really love the game in general when it works.

EDIT: knocking off one star because of the ads. It’s either Dragon City, Merge Dragons, or Episode, which is rather inappropriate, and i could swear I just got a porn ad. The shields are all but useless. When you crash into a corner of wall spikes it’s still instant death. What a waste.

I'm very thankful for this game. It has given me solid evidence that Editor's Choice is now given to meaningless crap!

This "game", if it can even be called that, is representative of everything wrong with mobile games in 2018:

• The god-awful "energy" system, which seems to have permeated every game on the App Store since Candy Crush took off. Basically you're given 5 lives and every time you lose a level you lose a life. When you lose all 5 lives, you have to wait 20 minutes for ONE of them to regenerate. Or, you can refill them all with our COINS! Available for real money or on a literal gambling wheel. Which brings me to my next point.

• Actual gambling in a game available to children. This seems to be a problem in games from the App Store to AAA PC/Console games, and Tomb of the Mask is no exception. Basically, you get loot chests as a reward sometimes, and when you open one you get a Wheel of Fortune-style wheel that gives you a different coin reward depending on which spoke you land on. And these rewards vary WILDLY. Like from 25-200 coins. This is an opinion I've held for a while, but randomized loot boxes are NOT OKAY. They create a gambling-like experience, and considering that children or people with past gambling issues might be playing this game, that is really messed up. In addition, companies that utilize these systems have been known to hire psychologists to make these systems as addictive as possible. That is so morally reprehensible I don't even know where to begin. Same goes for Candy Crush/Star Wars: Battlefront II/Overwatch/Destiny or ANY game that uses these despicable money-making methods. Fortunately, countries such as Belgium are beginning to ban these systems. The day that my country bans these will be a bright day in the world of gaming.

• Pay-to-play: In theory this game can be played for free, but in practice your wallet will be screaming for mercy by the end of your first hour. This game is riddled with ads on every corner (which can be blocked for $3, one of the few things this game actually does right) and the energy system that I mentioned earlier is inherently cash-grabbing, but the most ridiculous and blatant pay-to-play system is the diamond membership. This membership gives unlimited energy, removes ads, and gives a bunch of other perks. It would be one thing if this was a $10 purchase or something, but nope. You are charged $8 per week for these privileges. You read that right. Per WEEK. Most of the things I mentioned here are things I've seen a million times before, but this is a new level of pure greed. Honestly, this just concerns me. If this is just the latest step in cash-grabbing, how low are these games willing to sink? Will they start charging 99¢ for every level? Will you have to pay $10/week to play the game? Considering that most free games had No Ads as their only in-app purchase just a few years ago, I think that mobile games are going to sink to this level eventually.

It's sad because Tomb of the Mask could have been a mobile Game of the Year. Its gameplay is fast and exciting, its idea is unique, and its art is beautiful. But this beauty has been submerged under a world of greed and filth by money-hungry executives.

So until this game ends its greedy and predatory gambling/overcharging practices, PLEASE refrain from supporting this game. If we vote with our wallets, things will change. But until we do, this game will remain a shadow of what it could have been, and developers will be encouraged to make garbage like this instead of making beautiful games like Monument Valley or Alto's Adventure (both of which are much better than this and you should check them out immediately). So withhold your money and the App Store can change for the better!

And Apple, please return to the time when Editor's Choice was a reward given to games that respected their players and created beauty in the world. Because this game does the exact opposite of both of those.

Tomb of the Mask Good game, but needs some improvements

While this game is pretty good, it still needs some improvements. I’m going to list my suggestions to improve the game.

1. Fix the teleporter glitch. I ran into a glitch once where I got teleported into a block after entering an teleporter. When this happened I got teleported into an solid block next to the teleporter.

2. Pressure sensitive platform. These platforms will begin to move to an location in four directions. These platforms will trigger if you touch it. After the platform reaches its destination, it will stay there briefly, then move back to where it once was.

3. Level editor. I’m pretty sure it’s possible for an level editor to exist in this game, due to the way objects are placed. The objects are placed in an grid, making it easier to place objects where you want it to. There will be an bar at the bottom that has all of the objects inside the game. There will also be an eraser icon next to the bar. Once selected, you will erase anything that you placed, provided you touch them. To turn off eraser mode, simply tap the eraser icon again. While active, the eraser will have an yellow outline, when disabled, there will be no outline. The objects in the game will be locked until you clear the level in which they first appear. You also have to beat level 25 to unlock the level editor. Here is an list of special objects and how to customize them below:
3.1. Moving blocks: Once they are placed, you will also have to place an destination to the right, left, above, or below the moving blocks. The first destination will already be placed, it will be in the location of where you placed the block. If you don’t know what I mean, I mean the blocks that appears on level 40.
3.2. Bats: Same thing as the moving blocks.
3.3. Arrow launcher: While placed, it will be facing left on default. There will be an arrow ⬅️ on the arrow launcher that rotates it 90 degrees when pressed. If you don’t know what I mean, I mean those things with an face that shoots an arrow every second.
3.4. Long thing: They must be placed on an block. When placed, an end point must be placed to the left, right, above, or below the long thing. The end point must be placed on an block. Once placed, the long thing will turn towards it.
3.5. Rotating blocks. This block will rotate, rotating any blocks connected to it. It will have an arrow like this . This will tell which direction to rotate. When tapped, the arrow will flip, and so will the rotation direction.
3.6. Saw ball: When placed, an one way block will be required to be placed near the start, and another one to be placed at the end. Then, you have to trace the path for the ball to travel. The path cannot cross solid blocks, one way blocks, and the path created. The path will be required to end at the one way block at the end. When the first one way block is triggered, the saw ball will trigger as well.
4. User created levels. When selected, you will go to an menu that has all of the levels created by users that has been uploaded. It works similarly to super Mario maker.
5. Upload level. This will appear only in the level editor. When you feel that you’re done building the level, you can press pause, then select “upload level.” You can remove the level if you want to, but that will be in the next idea.
6. Save level. This will appear only in the level editor. When you want to save the level you created, you can press pause, then select “save level.” When selected, it will send you to the save menu. It can hold up to 50 levels. You have the option to select an file to save the level to. If an level is selected in the save men, you have the option to overwrite it, upload it, remove it from user created levels, or delete it.
7. Load level. This will appear only in the level editor. When you want to load an level you saved, you can press pause, then select “load level.” When selected, it will send you to the saved levels menu. It can hold up to 50 levels. When one of the level is selected, you will load the level.

Anyways, that’s all of the ideas I have right now!

Tomb of the Mask "Get rid of annoying ads" paid feature stolen.

2 years ago I got this game and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Enough to be willing to shell out a dollar to get rid of ads. I continue playing for a few more weeks and start playing it less and less. But recently I decided to try to pick it up again, and all of the ads were back at an even higher frequency than before! On top of that, the in-app store had the remove ads feature available for $10! And that was a limited sale, its actually supposed to be 14 dollars. That's ridiculous. I have already reached out to their support email and I have also attempted to restore purchases from the settings, but to no avail.

It is very unfair that I lose access to a feature I paid for simply because playgendary decided to pull a predatory practice. I'm not alone in this problem either. If you go to the Google reviews page on the Play store for this app, you will see many others complaining about the same thing.

Attached is proof that I actually bought this product 2 years ago.

Claimed loss: $0.99

Desired outcome: A refund or reinstatement of my no ads feature without any additional cost.

Tomb of the Mask Horrible pricing practice - “ad-free” option is anything but

I hate to give this game a one-star review, because the core mechanics of the game actually aren't that bad and kind of fun, but system that the developers have implemented to handle ads is just revolting. I paid for the ad-free option in the app, but all that does is remove the ads that are displayed between levels. You have a limited amount of "energy" (essentially, turns playing a maze) before you can't play further until enough time has passed to recharge your turns. Want some extra energy to get you through the downtime? Watch an ad.

Did you fail in the middle of a level? Watch an ad to continue where you left off.

Want a randomized gift? Watch an ad.

For Pete's sake, I paid to remove ads - let me play as much as I want without ads! Oh, but there *issuch an option, but you have to pay a $7.99 A WEEK subscription to do so! That is absolutely abhorrent and greedy in what should be at most a $5 game. I would have had Apple refund my purchase after seeing how the "ad-free" option truly works, but my kid really likes the game hidden behind all the ads, and at least I’ve removed some of the ads that constantly interrupt your play. Honestly, pricing practices like this shouldn't be rewarded, so I leave this review here for others to know what you're getting into before you even start playing the game.

Tomb of the Mask Garbage

This game follows a trend of mobile games these days where they barrage you with ads and shove ads down your throat and force-feed you ads constantly unless you pay them 8 dollars A WEEK for a “premium membership”. This is a minuscule phone game with one primary fundamental game function, which is swiping. Sit down, game, you are not the Church and you can’t steal money from people that easily. This game does not deserve Editor’s Choice. Remember when Lite games existed, or even just free games in general that didn’t have the most obstructive ads you could possibly imagine? Why not have a bar at the bottom of the screen that displays ads? Why do you have to absolutely annihilate the player every single level with an unskippable ad? Mobile games these days are absolute garbage. It’s a shame, because this game could have been fun if I wasn’t being incessantly fed the most annoying ads of the century. Better yet, you could just make this game what… a buck? 2 bucks? And not lure kids playing this game into paying 8 dollars a WEEK for a membership in a MOBILE GAME? It’s sad how far mobile games have sunk. Every developer is a cash-grabbing greedy fiend these days. Trash. If you don’t particularly like to play a game that’s more ad than game, I would suggest not picking this piece of trash up. Save yourself the hassle.

Tomb of the Mask Too many ads, breaks the immersion

This style of game has always been one I’ve been attracted towards. It plays beautifully, it was developed flawlessly, and it’s incredibly fun to get into the zone with this masterpiece. Though it plays well, it’s just like every other cheaply made mobile game. Advertisements aren’t a problem, one every once in a while is ok, it’s how developers get pain, I think everyone can respect that. But there was once a time when a quality game was shown before you even click on the app in the AppStore, it was an app that showed $4.99 instead of get. I would without hesitation spend five dollars on a mobile game if it had a trailer that looked as cool as the gameplay from this game, but this game was taken a different direction, the kind where you need to subscribe to a monthly plan just to get the few benefits the game offered. This game is amazing. I even once was in a video game design class and remade this game for my final, (I passed with flying colors). If the developers are going to read this, or anyone working on this game at all, please consider making this a game on steam with a story, or even just making people pay a flat fee like in 2010. All of my favorite mobile games were from then, and the potential is gushing out of this game. Thank you for creating this amazingly fast and colorful game, and I hope this helps start something even cooler. :)

Tomb of the Mask Complete frustration

I open the game, forced tutorial with full volume and no access to settings. Play through the tutorial, get to the level selection screen and click the gear icon to get to settings and it opens a 30 second ad. It’s unbelievably blood boiling to get locked behind an ad when I want to turn off the sound, and then after the ad when I can select the sound off, I click to turn off notifications (because it seems it’s on by default without asking). The next moment I close the window it has a pop up to turn on notifications, there isn’t a “no” button, so I tap off the edge of the pop up and it does nothing. Baffled I stared at it for 5 seconds before the “no” button appears. Next thing it pops up I can double my chest reward with an ad, having already been bombarded by ads up to this point, I don’t want to watch another and get at least another 30 seconds of game play. Again, there isn’t a “no” button so I tap off the pop up border, and it plays the ad anyway (I guess you need to wait 5 seconds to say no to watching an ad). I play 1 more level, and it gives another ad at the end of it. This game has 0 respect for the players time, if I want to spend money on the game it’s so I can support the developers, but instead it’s as frustrating as possible to try and force you to buy “no ads.”

The gameplay is fun, but I would never waste my time to play if my time isn’t respected at all.

Tomb of the Mask Another game destroyed by greed

This game was in need of an update, as you can see by some of the similar reviews. Well, we got it, and now I wish we didn't. Everything was adjusted to make it more difficult to upgrade and get new stuff without using real money to boost you along. Power ups last at least half the amount of time, the wheel of fortune, which was a big helper for money, was effectively cut in half, for example, you used to be able to win 450 coins, now 200, you used to be able to win 50 coins, now 25, 2 shields, now 1. It was such a fun game and now they have decided money was worth more than our enjoyment. I got this game last July, and it had only received a few bug fixing updates and it was still fun and enjoyable, a good time waster, and then they pull this crap and hype it up with a new stage mode, and ruin the game. On top of all that, they tried to get rid of the "old players," used to the old game, by deleting all your data and making you restart. They claimed to have restored the data, but five people, including me, never had our data restored. I do not suggest this game anymore, probably mostly due to the fact that I am used to the old game, but you can try it out for yourself, but before you invest six months into it, remember the company who made this game tried to force out all its older players and bring in new ones, who were not accustomed to the old, not money hungry gameplay.

Tomb of the Mask Bad business practice

This game is a lot of fun. It has a great art style and I have thoroughly enjoyed playing it, however that doesn’t excuse it from the two major flaws it has. The first major flaw is the ads. It shoves ads down your throat every chance it gets, and it gets really annoying. I’ve gotten to the point where I turn on airplane mode just to be able to avoid them. The second major flaw is the membership program the game has. I’ve never seen anything like it in a smartphone game and it kinda scares me. The game allows you to pay 7.99 for 4 masks (in-game skins), 500 coins per day, and unlimited energy all of which, in my opinion, should be free. The membership program really doesn’t offer anything substantial and has no use of being in the game, it’s just blocking you from things that should already be included in the game, plus, the price is just absurd. Paying 8 dollars a week for something that gives you a few items that should naturally be in the game is just awful business practice and shows that most companies don’t care about the consumer anymore. This game is lots of fun and I would definitely give it 4 stars if the developers showed they cared about the consumer and didn’t have these awful, greedy, practices within their game. The saddest part about this though is that everybody just gobbles this game up and gives it a perfect rating, not even noticing what’s going on with the game.

Tomb of the Mask I remember when this game was good

A few years ago, I played this game a lot. Happymagenta made an amazing, free, addicting game that I would’ve happily paid $1-5 (an ordinary price for a mobile game) for...

and then Playgendary messed everything up.
When I recently reinstalled this game, it was so much different, so much worse, than the game I had previously known. The first thing you see when you tap the title screen is a subscription service for $8 a month or $100 (that’s right, 100 dollars) a year, and then when you close that popup, because who in their right mind spends $100 a year on a mobile game, an ad instantly pops up at the bottom.

This game fell into the trap many mobile games do- littering it with ads and microtransactions.
So many other mobile games do the freemium model well- Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, even Fortnite to name a few- but I guess this isn’t one of them. This could have even been an amazing, paid mobile game without ads or microtransactions, like Downwell, for example, but instead, it’s a cluttered mess that's littered with ads every single time you die- and, even for the people who spend $3 to remove ads, it sounds like the energy system for the levels it gives to you still stays and gives you the option to watch an ad.

I remember when this game was good- a simple, addictive mobile game that did its paid system right- and I don’t believe there’s ever gonna be a way to go back to that.

Tomb of the Mask A smarter but still insidious money vampire

Look, I do not mind games that offer some in app purchases to either help less twitchy or more casual game players but any game whose entire existence and game play is built on draining money or making you watch commercial after commercial to get any game continuity is a loser in my book. I wish apple would stipulate the difference between games with add onscand games that are limited or unplayable without constantly pouring money in. This is an attempt to tone down the avarice by a tiny amount but the the net result is that the hope to get even more money out of you in smaller monthly bites so you do not call up and ask apple to cancel the fees you cannot afford. Gaming should be safe to a gamers wallet. And game mechanics where you pay to get rid of the ads should then be fully playable with the key fun features without additional theft of your time or money. This game does not even have the complex graphical overhead to justify its money grab. Some people might be ok with it and if so, more power to them but I will not support gaming as a constant drain on my wallet simply to fully participate or worse play. This game insists you start back at the beginning unless you pay them or watch an ad. If you want to strike that bargain fine but not me. When I am in that kind of mood I will just gamble where there is a minute chance a slot machine will pay off big. I think these avaricious gaming models are an irresponsible and social destructive business model and I will not participate.

Tomb of the Mask Great game but almost unplayable

Update: Ok so this game got updated since my last review (below), and I am sad to notice that nothing has changed. More levels. Woo. Still controls worse than trying to play Dark Souls lefty. Taking away a star.

I really enjoy this game. But the controls are so ridiculously unresponsive. I find myself swiping left and having the character travel down into spikes, or trying to swipe left away from a cannon and it just sits there and I lose. It happens almost every level.

Also there’s just way too many ads. I understand it’s how the devs make money but holy crap I think it could be toned down a little. I don’t make IAP’s to get rid of ads, I do it to support the devs if I really enjoy a game. And too many ads make it unenjoyable. I’m not going to pay any money so I can enjoy the game, I’m going to pay money if I enjoy the game.

To sum it up, I love the idea of this game. But I’d say increase the tolerances for move inputs so there’s no disparity between what move I intend and what move is made, and add a short term move queue. So if I swipe left a split second before my character stops from a previous move, then that left swipe is queued and once the character stops, they’ll immediately travel left. I’d also say to tone down the amount of ads a little. With those few changes, this’ll become a 5 star game. Without the ad change I suggested (I get it, we all need money), I’d call this a 4 star game. The worst part is how these two problems combine. I lose a lot because of unresponsiveness so I hit even more ads.

Tomb of the Mask From release date to present

I had this game when it first released and what had happened to this game is a true tragedy. When it first came out the game was just a mindless, beat your highest score, type of game. But I had deleted it before cause I just forgot about the game completely, there was nothing wrong with it it actually pretty great mobile game to play when waiting for something to do. It had the masks which gave curtain power ups and immunities and eventually it had came out with a story type of mode which came out every so often. The was 9-10/10 game when it first came out.

Recently I’ve decided to look up old games I’ve played in high-school and this was one game that came to mind easily. But sadly it had come to my attention, I forgot who originally made this game, had sold it to its current holder. Which concerned me when I saw who’s hold this game up, and that’s when I realized I was gonna be disappointed. When I’ve played this game again it just felt wrong off the start. After the first game I played it just felt laggy and just wasn’t smooth at all, but then after the game came a ad...literally the worst possible thing that can happen to a free mobile game. I’m not saying that all mobile games that have add are bad, but they ruin the gameplay completely. After everything you touch a ad will appear, done with a level ad and after that level ad.

This game was once great and now it just was made into an unenjoyable game that has ads constantly. RIP

Best way to fix it is just to REMOVE THE ADS AND ANY MICRO-TRANSACTION! And just like that companies just shook in fear.

Tomb of the Mask Ad filled cash grab

This game is amazing and would be extremely fun if it weren’t for the ceaseless ads. There is an ad after every play.
This might not sound so bad until you realize that gameplay is extremely fast paced. This game is about reflexes and speed. Story mode maps are short and after each map you get an ad. Arcade mode is longer term but requires being faster because in this mode if you’re too slow you drown. The moment you die and go to restart the arcade mode you get yet another ad.
Then to add insult to injury the ads make the game lag so while you’re trying to play quickly and precisely your game will start to lag to the point that you can’t control your character.
On that note let’s talk about the controls here: they don’t like to respond to begin with. They can be rather testy. So then when the game starts lagging because of the ads you’re bombarded with its almost impossible to control.
The control that isn’t testy is double tapping to use your (paid) or otherwise limited amount of free shields.
It’s especially hard to not accidentally use them when the ads lag the game.

If it weren’t for the obvious greed going on this game would be phenomenal. If the ads weren’t screwing over the frame rate the game seems like it would run really well and it would be legitimately enjoyable to play if it didn’t feel like playing it was imminent of itself a form of punishment because of the ads.

The audio is amazing, the graphics are very well done, and the tombs you’re navigating are randomly generated (in arcade mode) and can be legitimately challenging to get through.

Tomb of the Mask Predatory

$8/ a month for a game is predatory enough as it is. People who play MMO’s at least have nearly endless content, and regular updates. This game wants to charge you $8, every week, just for more lives. After taxes in my state, that adds up to $445 per year. This game may be good, it may be the best game of the millennium, but it isn’t worth $445 up front, much less PER YEAR. This game is designed to lure children on their parents phones into charging ludicrous amounts of money onto their parents cards. It’s normal for a child to want to play a game from the app store that costs $2.99, so $8.99 doesn’t sound THAT bad, right? Nope. 52 times that. The incredibly small text that says “a week” is such blatant misdirection, and with such a huge payout if a parent isn’t paying close attention. Imagine if the charge were to get lost among your other bills, and you had no idea you were being charged $8 a week for a game just as thoughtful and creative as Pac-Man. This is the most disgustingly predatory app on the App Store, with the potential to steal $445 a year, this game should AT LEAST have a 17+ rating. Yet it doesn’t. This game shouldn’t be playing ads after every level, (and every other action you do) just to say right after your 30 second unskippable ad plays all the way through, “Watch a 30 second ad for a free shield!” As if the game forgot that you just watched an ad for beating a level, just watched an ad for making a purchase in the in game store, and just watched an ad for turning the music off. This is gross. The slimy practices from these developers is shameful, and predatory towards children. Shame on you.

Tomb of the Mask Everything is constantly flashing

I’m a big fan of games like this. I find them a lot of fun and while the ads are annoying, they’re manageable most of the time.

Unlike the ads though, the flashing is far less manageable.

I am not highly photosensitive. However, parts of the screen are constantly flashing because you can watch an ad to get a shield and there’s coins and here’s a wall of death that’s chasing after you and you reached a goal that you need to grab and the walls are flashing because they’re going to try and kill you if you stand next to them too long and on and on and on. After a while it all just gets to be too much and actively took away from my enjoyment of the game.

I will acknowledge that this is fairly common for the aesthetic that the developers were going for. However, we live in an age where games like this are not stuck to the limitations of an arcade cabinet. Settings are able to be changed to user preferences. Yet there is no way to change how much the screen flashes, if at all.

I honestly could care less about the microtransactions and the ads. Devs need to eat and that’s the easiest way to do so. But I’m tired of the only criticism of the game being that there are too many ads and the progression struggles, especially when there is a problem that could potentially cause harm. Due to the lack of accommodations for anyone who might just not want to deal with up to 90% of the screen flashing for some reason at any given time, regardless of photosensitivity, the game can become downright unplayable.

Until this issue is fixed, I’m deleting the app. It is unfair to everyone to not offer basic accommodations, especially if they are related to flashing graphics.

Tomb of the Mask Ads and unfair practices

Ok, so this game is good. I’m not gonna lie. I love the classic style of it and I think it’s a decent way to pass the time. However, ads are everywhere and it forces you to watch ads any chance it gets. Even for the treasure chests that you win, and I mean come on guys! The reward system should be part of the game, not something to be monetized. Usually if I get a chest I just forget about it, because I really don’t feel like seeing what’s in it if I’m gonna have to waste 30 seconds or more to get what I earned in the game. Also, the life system is broken too. Remember when you had to wait almost 30 minutes to get your lives back when playing in a video arcade? No?!?! Well of course, that’s because you used coins or quarters. Sure you only got three lives, but that is how a classic arcade game should play. Three lives and then you have to start over from the beginning. But at least you could just restart! Here you have to wait literally, no joke, thirty minutes or more to get lives back. And you can only hold five. So if you fail too many times then your forced to...not play the game...I mean Jesus, if the developers really didn’t want me playing that bad then I could just uninstall it. This needs to change! Also I am not sure what has been going on with monetization recently, but $7.99 a month for a premium membership that includes basic functions to the game that should already be implemented! I’m sorry, but I’d rather stick with the actual classic’s like Sega, Nintendo, or Atari. Don’t be fooled by these graphics and style. It’s not a classic, it’s a cash grab. I recommend avoiding this one. I think your money will be better spent on Sonic 1 and 2, which are also on the App Store. Or buy a console or get an emulator. Whatever works.

Tomb of the Mask Good game, terribly flawed business model

First, I love the game. Simple controls and graphics, yet complex levels and deviously good fun. However, this game has a major flaw that one would have to consider before getting this game. The advertisements. This may be a trite expression, but the ads can (and have, for me) water down, if not ruin, the potentially enjoyable experience that is this game. One revive if you die costs 200 coins, which is EIGHT levels’ worth of completion bonuses, or you watch an ad. If you close the window to escape watching an ad, an ad pops up when you close the window. You have to watch an ad regardless. If you beat a level, you watch an ad. Lose a level, watch an ad. Go to the shop, watch an ad. Leave he shop, watch an ad. To remove ads, games would normally charge you one dollar. To remove ads in this game, you have to pay three dollars. Also, there is an energy system. When you lose a level, you lose one energy, and it takes HALF AN HOUR to regenerate ONE energy. Of course, you could watch an ad or pay 1000 coins to get max energy, which, by the way, 1000 is FOURTY LEVELS worth of completion bonuses. Then there is the greedy “premium membership” which charges you EIGHT dollars per WEEK for 4 exclusive masks (skins), unlimited energy, and 500 coins per day. All of these should come with the game. This game is a time waster, not something to get very invested into. I would gladly pay one dollar to get this game, however this amount of ads and the membership can and most likely will annoy if not frustrate anyone playing this game. I only recommend this game to you if you can withstand the flood of ads this game will unleash upon you or if you are ready to pay up. I would give this game four if not five stars for the very fun gameplay, however the ads prevent that.

P.S. The shield is useless. There is no period of invincibility after being hit and losing the shield. You could die from hitting an enemy once even if you have the shield. For instance, I had a shield up and ran into a bat. The bat destroyed my shield and killed me at the same time. Please fix this.

Tomb of the Mask I understand why this game doesn’t ask for you to review their game

This game is great. It’s fun, addicting, and a great time killer. But, there are many things that are out of hand in this game that I find unacceptable. I’ve seen playgendary’s games before. They know what kids are interested in. But the problem is that they use these interests to lure kids into buying things from them that are absolutely absurd. Like the membership. Eight dollars?! A month (correct me if I’m wrong)?! This is a time killer. It’s a game that you would play in line, or play while waiting in the airport or something like that. It’s not a game that you’ll actually commit to and spend money on. Also, the ads. I don’t know how playgendary gets away with this. I get it, you have to keep money rolling in somehow, but not even five seconds into opening the game, you get THREE ads right in your face. I’ll name the ones they give me. They give an ad for a game called polysphere, the membership subscription ad, (which is also dumb because it would be more efficient to have a “no ads” option for a dollar) and ANOTHER pop up ad for polysphere. The game shows an ad after pretty much any button you press. You watch an ad to get a revive? You’re gonna watch another one right after that ad! I’m not paying eight dollars a month for something I can do for free, which is to turn on airplane mode. This game would have all five stars if you wouldn’t drown your players in ads. Seriously, if you’re so set on forcing people to make money, just make a lite version and a full version! I wouldn’t mind paying a dollar or two for this game. It’s worth it. But eight dollars a month, along with many other absurd prices? I’m surprised that you guys haven’t closed down by now. Also, you don’t listen to your fan base, and that’s going to be your downfall. Every review I see mentions the ads. But do you listen? Of course not! Ultimately, I think that people are going to stop playing your games because you won’t cool it with the ads. I mean, it’s seriously just faster to close out the game and re-open it than watch a pop up ad. Please, I’ll change my review if you just revamp your prices and stop shoving ads down our throat.

Thanks

Tomb of the Mask Not the same

I use to love this game in the past, but after an update, it became bad. In the past it didn't have levels, it was endless, and you didn't have to use energy, you could play whenever. It's just not the same
