Chemical Financial Corporation Employee' Pension Plan of which I had an account transferred its plan sometime late last year. I have contacted your company by https:/my.trsretire.com with absolutely no results. I have called [protected] at least 3 times and each time I was told they could not find any record. I gave them Chemical Financials phone asking that they call to get help correcting this. I also gave them my phone number and asked that they call me to let me know what was done. I have not heard back from anyone in your company. I hope your customer service is far better then what I have received so far. I will give you a few days to solve this and get back to me and after that, I will file a complaint with the BBB and a Federal agency. i left my prior employer, trying to rollover my 401k from my prior employer to my own ira vanguard account. transamerica is not letting distributing my funds and kept making excuse as there the account the been close, so cannot access it without the sponser. there is no information of my retirement on file, now it the account have many different participate so cannot identify which funds are mines. transfer/wiring funds to a ira account
My representative at work and the rep at Transamerica was very helpful with my request to wire funds to Fidelity. The problem came when someone at Transamerica had a problem with the wiring and did not ask any questions or contact me about the issue.
About two weeks ago I filled out paperwork to have some of my 401k transferred to Fidelity. We (the company rep and I) contacted Transamerica to make sure we were doing the paperwork right with routing numbers and account numbers and worked on this for several days. After 10 days I did not see any funds transferred to Fidelity, so I contacted my company rep on Monday the 25th of November and she contacted the Transamerica rep and confirmed the money was wired, on the 27th I received an email confirming the wiring. on Friday I had not received the funds into the Fidelity account. I made a phone call to Transamerica and they stated that it was mailed to my address but the check was written out to Fidelity. This was not my instructions. No one from Transamerica called to inform me of the changes in the instructions. The gentleman stated they must have had troubles with the wiring and someone put it in the mail. No one contacted me to inform me that the funds were coming in the mail. I had to contact them. I was out of state at the time and to this date, Dec 1st, I do not have the funds. I requested them to cancel the check and the gentlemen did not want to do this and stated " maybe you will get lucky and get". I am concerned if and when I will receive my funds. I asked them to put the funds back into my 401k and he stated he could not do that it would be in "limbo" until they could find the funds. not my problem. I will wait another 24 hours to hear from Transamerica, then I will seek legal advice. Not happy!

401k
I babysat my 401K withdrawal to be sure it would be distributed in a timely manner. Did no good. Despite being told, multiple times, that it had been processed and was on the way; despite electronic notifications that everything was processing fine; despite the fact that my phone number is re-verified a billion times on every call; Transamerica did not notify me of a problem (created by their misinformation) with the form. I called and asked, more than once, if I needed the form notarized. I was told, "No, " unequivocally. I wasn't asked questions about circumstances. The answer was a flat, "No, " and it was repeated.
They used the lack of a notary as an excuse to stall and send a paper check rather than do the Direct Deposit. They didn't bother to make use of the phone number they reverified over and over. They also did not bother to notify of the problem via email or text, both of which they managed to use to LIE about the processing, claiming everything was fine.
I was misinformed six times in 2 1/2 weeks that I would have my deposit (they cancelled the check and SAID they would direct deposit instead). First, it was 1-4 business days after notification, which was 2 weeks ago Wed 3/13/19. Then, the rep said something about sending a check but then seemed to catch himself and claimed it would be direct deposited the next day. Still, nothing. Another call. MORE lies. Now, I am told it's been processed and deposited, yet the bank finds NO EVIDENCE, no tracing number can be provided by the lying Transamerica, that any deposit is even pending.
I am now awaiting a call back from the LYING manager who told me it would be deposited TODAY! On FB, one of their reps reached out in response to my negative comments but then didn't respond again to a reply.
Basically, they STOLE my 401K and are lying about it.
transamerica made my tragic situation worse
My son passed away in a tragic accident and often as these tragic accidents do, they leave family members in a bind financially. I was unprepared but decided to reluctantly pull from my 401K to offset out of state expenses and of course burial expenses. Not only did Transamerica give me the run around from October 6 through October 30, they never did distribute anything out and their phone representatives were unsympathetic and borderline rude. This institution has an abhorrent culture about it, it sickens me to the core how this institution made our family's tragic situation worse. Unbelievably insensitive and coarse institution. 401k withdrawal
I changed employers and was no longer covered by Transamerica's 401k plan. I called when I received notice I needed to withdraw or rollover my account. I called Transamerica to inquire about getting my money. The customer service person gave me misinformation, but did email me my forms and said I would receive my check in 3 days from when they received my completed forms. I received email on 1/29/18 that my withdrawal papers were received. As of 2/6/18 I had not received my check and tried unsuccessfully for over 90 on hold to reach someone at Transamwrica. After trying again and wasting more of my time on 2/7/18 I was lied to and told that I had already cashed my check which I had never received. I requested to speak to a supervisor and the customer service person became argumentative, abusive and refused to transfer to supervisor, after continually requesting a supervisor he finally transferred me a supervisor who lied and told me the same thing, gave me the runaround, was also argumentative and abusive and would transfer me to her supervisor or give me any further information when I told her I did not trust her since she had lied to me and I wanted to deal with someone else and wanted to file a complaint against her. I asked to have my check overnighted to me at Transamerica's expense. She refused and after trying to talk further she ended the call. I called back later and encountered another equally as rude and argumentative customer service woman when asked where to submit a complaint. She kept putting me hold and said that the supervisor I wanted to complain about have her an address for me to write to, but this poor excuse for a professional woman kept putting me on hold and then hung up on me after I repeatedly asked for address. I called Transamerica directly and explained my complaints to their switchboard operator who transferred me to a different supervisor who told me there was on error on the part of Transamerica when they processed my check and that the transaction was reversed on 2/1/18 which I had been already been told. I asked was given the name and address of Joshua Durham in Baltimore, MD to write a complaint. He became combative, argumentative, abusive and started shouting at me when and told me I had to deal with the supervisor I was complaining about and didnt want to deal with when I asked if he had Durham's phone number. I asked for the name of his supervisor which he refused, he finally gave me the name of his supervisor Tina Anderson. He did refuse to give me her phone number or contact info. Both supervisors I talked to that day especially the first one refused to really help provide any information and stated upper management does not take calls or return calls. I contacted Transamerica again a few times that day and asked to be speak to Joshua Durham and Tina Anderson and Mark Mullin Transamerica's president and had to leave messages and explained why I was calling and asked for return calls which never came and return calls from the two supervisors who said said they would call back also nevet came and neither did my check. On 2/8/18 eleven days after money was taken out of my account I started making calls to Joshua Durham, Tina Anderson and again got voice mail and left messages. I called Mark Mullin's office and again and was lied to by his secretary who also to a rude and combative stand. I left message several times for these three people and for the two supervisors I talked to the previous day. The supervisor I talked the previous day that I did not want to deal with tried to downplay Transamerica's responsibility for the error and said Transamerica only became aware of the error on 2/7/18 even though she told me on that day someone at Transamerica had reversed my check transaction on 2/1/18. I requested to have check delivered to me on 2/8/18 and asked for additional interest since money was missing 11 days, she refused and was very argumentative. I made repeated phone calls and left messages for Joshua Durham, Tina Anderson and Mark Mullin's office and told them the same thing. I never received calls back. I did receive call from the female supervisor who originally lied to me and I didn't want to deal with who told me the had solved the mistake. I asked if my check with additional interest was being delivered that and she said no, the check would be processed on 2/9/18 and if the could out in time it may be overnighted and at the earliest I may have my check on 2/10/18 or sometime next week. I told her this was unacceptable. I placed additional calls to Joshua Durham, who did answer his phone, did not say anything and then hung up on me. He is the person who supposedly is in charge of handling Transamerica's client complaints. I also tried contacting without luck and had to leave messages for Tina Anderson and Mark Mullin. I wasted in three days over 17 hours of my time calling Transamerica, waiting on hold, waiting for calls back, being lied to, being verbally abused, argued with, not given answers, refusal of information requested to make complaints, by supervisors and customer service people and failure of management Joshua Durham, Tina Anderson and Mark Mullin to return phone calls regarding complaints and frustration with Transamerica. The further complaints, and issues with Transamerica could have been avoided if first supervisor was honest and shared info and if someone in management had returned phone calls.
401k loan process
I call to get my loan paid off and I ask the rep how long to I have to wait to get another loan and she said immediately. I sent in a money order is usps overnight which their company doesn't except. So my paid was left to the post office. Someone picked it up that same day. Payment mailed friday 11/4/17 the payment was picked up on monday 11/06/17. On the website they states the it takes 3-5 business days to process a payment but if you call they claim that they have to hold the payment for 4 days so why put 3-5 business days on the website? So now it's 11/13/17 and the money is still not posted to my account. This friday coming up will be 2 weeks and nothing's happened. I've been with several 401k companies and none had this many bad reviews or took this long to process a loan payment. Maybe this has something to do with their layoffs their taking our money to pay off severance packages... This is a really [censor] company and I hope our company finds another 401k company soon...
retirement plan
Received an email regarding a cancellation of a recent distribution request and a phone number to call if I thought this was an error. I called the number and no one is available to report this error to. I did send an email through the Transamerica member site NOT to cancel the distribution and indeed this cancellation was an error. I hope I don't have to call them and get hung up on after holding 30-45 minutes several times over and over again.
401k rebalancing
My 401K account was automatically rebalanced to a very conservative mix. Prior rebalancings were very minor changes. This time, very drastic were made. When I called to inquire, the representative said it was due to a computer algorithm. To change the mix back, I had to manually change my 401k balance mix. In the end, this will cost me fees.
I highly recommend not signing up for Transamerica's managed advice service. Seems like a scam to generate additional revenue.

This company TRS, is by far the most incompetent and shady financial institution I've ever done business with. I would encourage anyone with money invested through work or pension, or anyone who owns any type of securities, to cash out and look else where! After my father died they continued to make pension payments to his account even after informing them of my father's passing. They then, without letting us know about any of this, withdrew $50, 000 from my dad's checking account, after they discovered their accounting error, throwing our books into disarray, and truly putting our finances at great risk. I would have been happy to pay back any unearned payments or money the estate was not entitled to. However, the way they stole back the funds from my Dad's account in the middle of the night, and without notice, is truly disgusting.
It took them 24 hours to reverse a transaction and take money FROM a bank account but them MONTHS to make a deposit into one.
Aside from their first royal #### up, I inherited several retirement accounts at the time of my father's passing. They have proceeded to hold these funds hostage, even after full well knowing I was listed as a beneficiary, and also having court documents proving my ownership of my father's estate. This is truly criminal. It has taken over three months for them to make a simple sale of an IRA, and deposit the $5, 000 to my checking account. Hoops, hoops, and more hoops, forms, and then just moving on to just strait lying to cover up their lack of customer service, and not depositing the money to my account when they said they would. They were VERY efficient when it came to stealing back funds -24 hours at the most! They have every piece of documentation they could possibly need to make the deposit, but are too incompetent to complete a simple transaction, even after them screwing up my dad's retirement accounts and pension. I too got an official letterhead from my bank, providing direct deposit information along with a voided check. I TOO faxed this this to them three times! And even after all that, they couldn't even complete the direct deposit, and now say they have sent a check in the mail - making me wait again for the check to arrive, then deposited, and then more days for it to clear and for the funds to available. I truly despise this company
I will be reporting them to the SEC, BBB, and am contemplating legal action. Run away and invest in an REAL company like Schwab, or Fidelity - they are professionals and not liars.
I completely agree about their ineptness...horrible horrible company and employees.We have contacted Transamerica on 3 seperate occassions. They sent us the wrong amount on my husband's 1099R. They then sent a letter dated on 1-2-18 asking for part of the monies they had overpayed back. We sent a check to them on 1-8-18 which was cashed on the 16th of January. The letter also stated that they would send out TWO seperate 1099 R's...the incorrect one and the corrected one once our check was received. They have NOT sent the corrected one as of this date. They just keep putting us off and telling us they are working on it. This is causing us not to be able to file our taxes. They made a mistake and now are unwilling to correct it which is causing us a lot of stress.
ira disbursement
I sent in an IRA disbursement form about 6 weeks ago (May 2nd 2016). The reason for this is because I am no longer able to contribute to it and they sent me a notice saying they are taking funds from it, so I liquidated it. My account only has about 1400$ on it and I was willing to pay for overnight shipment of the check. Well, after waiting 6 weeks I called and they told me that they had an issue with my form. I filled it out as My name and signed it as My name Jr. So they couldn't confirm that it was actually me. They asked me to fax a copy of my license with a cover letter and after 3-4 business days it should be processed and a check would be cut. So I waited the 4 days. Nothing. I called again and they said that my license was too dark and they had tried to contact me several times (obvious lie.) I sent them another one and called 20 mins later, still too dark. I requested sending them an email, they said they cant do that its against policy. I then sent 5 more the next day from my job with varying degrees of brightness and called again, still too dark. They then suggest I email it to one of them... So I did and FINALLY it was processing. They tell me give it 2 days to process and they'll overnight you a check (mind you this is Wednesday 6/8). I waited until Monday 6/13 and call again, still in processing. I call Tuesday 6/14, still in processing. Should have tracking numbers by 6/15. I call this morning and all of a sudden now its 7-10 business days and there was never a rush order on my account. I'm furious at this point. They promise me there will be a rush order and it shouldn't be too much longer. I'm expecting to call tomorrow and they're going to say they need my license again... No faith in this company at all. I will never invest with them for the rest of my life and plan on telling many many more people.
401k rollover request/distribution request
I have been working on this for over a month. Every time I submit paperwork I have to call to follow up then I'm told they need something else. They haven't ONCE called me to update me on the status even though I've requested this on each occasion. There is no way to communicate via email and you have to run through the customer service mill on the phone each time. They require everything to be faxed and my first 3 faxes went through without issue yet the last 2 they claim they didn't receive. Coincidentally these 2 faxes are the "final step" needed to complete my request. This has been the most difficult process ever. Each person has lied to me or mislead me in one way or another. At this point I feel like I may never see MY money! Of course there is no way to complain on their website or escalate the process. Ridiculous.

they can't find my funds
The last time I viewed my retirement funds I was at a certain level. I recently checked it and there was a $4000 discrepancy. It was not a bad investment; the Transamerica representative stated that the funds could not be located. That was over 3 weeks ago. Their customer service representatives keep telling me 'someone is working on it', but for 3 weeks? Who can I complain to about this? There must be some regulation, like if a bank loses your money without explanation?
