Disappointing Experience with Trex Composite Decking
I recently installed Trex composite decking for my outdoor space, hoping for a low-maintenance and durable solution. However, to my dismay, the decking has turned black and warped, despite following all of Trex's guidelines. Even within the warranty period, Trex has been unresponsive to our concerns and unwilling to address the issues we've faced. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated with the quality and customer service provided by Trex.

Bad bad bad
Trex is horrible. We bought the railing system through Home Depot. We have a 9 column wrap around porch and we thought we were all set. we bought 6 foot sections of the railing.
Our Contractor had never worked with tihs product before, and set the posts 6 feet apart (a little less for fudge factor).
Clearly not enough fudge there. The stupid SIX FOOT railing are only 67 and 3/4 inchs long. SIX FEET is 72 inches.
We resolved the issue buy purchasing the more exspensive 8 foot sections of railing. But we had to hold the entire job for over a week waiting for them to be deliverd. Home Depot was sort of nice about this, but we did have to fight to return a special order product.
I had contacted Trex 6 times in the last month. Clearly they don't care as no one ever returns my calls.
DO NOT BUY TREX!

We spent $17, 000 (NOT including railing) on our deck only 4 yrs ago. We have had a constant mold problem. We made the heavy investment believing the company's claim of worry free outdoor living. This has been a maintainance nightmare! The bleach based cleaners Trex recommends are harsh, and the actual cleaning of the deck is backbreaking. The mold spots are horrible. Our deck has southern exposure(sun all day) and is appoximately 12 feet off the ground with absolutely no overhanging trees. After making a claim with Trex, we received a letter stating that this was "normal" maintaince issue. What is normal about mold appearing on a deck every few months?
Approx 2 yrs ago I purchased trex for decking to be installed by carpenter. Home depot showed me three colors: beige grey & redwood. Having a cream colored home and natural wicker furniture & rug, I selected beige. Two mos. Later it turned dark grey. I complained to salesman at home depot to no avail. A few wks ago I found the contact on-line. I e-mailed the problem to trex. I received an answer asking if I picked winchester grey cause that color starts out as beige? They said it is in the brochures which I was not showned at store. I then sent back an e-mail stating if they went out to buy a beige car and it turned grey, would they want to hear this answer? I asked for a rep to come see this mismatch, but have not heard since. Please help as I am on living on soc. Sec. And cannot afford to paint the house and buy new furniture to match the color change. I understanding it fading, but a complete color change? Thank you for any consideration you may give this problem pat henninger.
