I was exiting the parking lot of Vons at 262 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas, California on Saturday night, December 15, 2018, at approximately 6:40 PM. I was stopped at the street to wait for traffic. The 18-wheel Vons delivery truck turned in front of me and just kept coming toward me...as if to push my car out of his way! I honked and put my car in reverse as I saw he was still moving forward. I had no other options as he was blocking me from moving forward. It was as though the driver was intending to push my car out of his way. It was very aggressive and dangerous.

I was in the car in the passenger seat during this event. This was a very scary and upsetting moment. My friend who was driving, had already maneuvered into the right hand side of the driveway exit near the street when the truck appeared and turned into her lane in the small space that was available. He came very close! He should have waited until traffic cleared before trying to enter the driveway. It was evening and at a glance, not easy to tell if her backing up would be a problem for anyone behind our car. The truck driver behaved very aggressively, moving forward within feet of her front bumper. She honked to "tell" him to back off so she could safely get out of danger as it appeared the driver had no intention of backing off. His response was to honk even longer and lurch forward! We almost complained at the time, but a part of us wanted to get out of a dangerous situation. Afterward, we were not able to just let it go. The truck driver's reckless behavior needed to be called out. JW
