At Roseville CA Carmax on November 18, 2024. I received a quote online for $8600 online for my 2014 Aura RLX. The vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition but needs a paint job. I made an appointment, and the car was evaluated and came back with an evaluation that it had a transmission problem, and they changed the quote to $7000. I do a lot of...

I have purchased 2 vehicles the last several years from Carmax, I have always appreciated the good customer service in searching for and finding the vehicle I wanted nationwide. This time I have contacted 3 different Carmax employees about helping me find a vehicle, including 2 sales managers and one online guy back in Kansas I think - this has been over the last week or so. No-one gets back to me. I am a good and loyal customer and find this most disturbing. I am looking for a [protected] Ford Explorer or Lincoln Navigator 4wd, white or a light color with tan interior - Hello? Are they none across the whole country? I can be reached at [protected]@comcast.net Thank you
Desired outcome: To purchase a vehicle
CarMax - Subaru forester 2011
I bought my car on December 14, 2019 in Peoria, AZ. I took it into CarMax Roseville, CA January 01, 2020 for check engine light coming on for the first time while owning vehicle. CarMax said they did a diagnostic test of the engine light and engine performance. They replaced the ignition coil. Check engine light came on again, scheduled an appointment for March 25th, 2020. March 18th, 2020 I received an email stating all stores have temporarily closed because, of the pandemic. CarMax said they will be in touch again to reschedule. Did not hear from CarMax again, till I reached out and was scheduled an appointment for May 18th, 2020. I was driving around a car with a check engine light for 2 months while CarMax was telling me there was nothing they could do for me at this time because of the pandemic. I still worked at this time, and needed my vehicle. May 18th, 2020 CarMax diagnosed the vehicle, found misfire codes for 3 of the 4 cylinders. Found valves need to be readjusted and referred me to Christensen Automotive for valve job. Called Carson city, NV Christensen Automotive to schedule an appointment. I live in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Carson city, NV referred me to the shop in South Lake Tahoe, CA. When I turned my car into Christensen Automotive, South Lake Tahoe, CA May 21st, 2020 they found there was oil leaking from the timing cover. Mechanic was amazed that I had just taken my car to be looked at, at CarMax Reno, NV, and; was not informed the whole bottom side of my vehicle was splattered with oil. Christensen Automotive filled my car with oil and said best option because, it was still under warranty. Was to take it back to CarMax Reno, NV and have them send it over to Subaru Lithia Reno, NV for best parts and service. Drove straight to CarMax, Reno, NV on May 22, 2020 and received my car back June 09, 2020. From this visit they allegedly sent my car over to Subaru Lithia Reno, NV for the leaking oil. I was not given that paperwork of my car being sent over to Subaru Lithia Reno, NV. CarMax also fixed my alignment on this visit. Check engine light came on again day of receiving my car back, June 09, 2020 while back in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Was not able to bring car back to CarMax Reno, NV till June 16th, 2020. Received my car back June 30th, 2020. Vehicle was sent to Subaru Lithia Reno, NV June 17th, 2020 where a diagnostic test was ran and found misfires on cylinders 3 and 4. Spark plugs were pulled and cleaned. Oxidization and ash were found but no further action was taken. Oil leak from timing cover was never resolved. When car was taken back to CarMax they noticed the a/c was not working and fixed that as well. Subaru Lithia Reno, NV told me I drove the car too hard and on the way back home, when I put gas in, I checked all fluids and my oil was completely dry. This was sitting at Subaru Lithia Reno, NV for 2 weeks. The check engine light no longer comes on. It still does not shift right, Leaks oil constantly, has blown transmission seals, continues to leak from transmission, and metal found in transmission.
Desired outcome: Would like a comprisable and safe car to what I originally signed a contract for
CarMax - Failure to repair and honor warranty
I purchased a Ford Focus from Carmax some time ago. The motor started having trouble almost right away. I returned car to Carmax with extended warranty, Carmax failed to honor warranty without court fight. Carmax said they rebuilt my motor 4 separate times and still failed to repair motor. The car is a piece of junk thanks to Carmax service depart at Roseville location and they refuse to reimburse me for 9$9, 000 loss. I say boycott Carmax Auto Superstore all together
