Camping World of San Martin CA, is about a 3-4hr drive from my house depending on traffic. So when I was looking for a service kit for my generator I figured I would call to see if they had one in stock. Considering I am doing this service to make sure my RV I purchased from a different camping world is in prime condition since I plan on trading it in soon. I did plan on purchasing from Camping World again but after this experience, I will stay as far away them and warn others about them also.
So I called to make sure they had part I was looking for in stock before driving a total of 7hrs in the car wasting gas. They ensured me they did. I should have known after trying to call them it took me about 2 hrs calling several times just to talk to someone. Since the calls I made the day before no one ever returned.
After getting there and waiting about 30 mins to talk to some in parts, they brought out the part but I knew it was incorrect since my generator only has 1 spark plug and thugs kit was for the one with 2. They spent about 25 mins trying to figure out if they had the one I needed to find out they didn’t. So here I am spending a whole day for nothing.
Because of my frustration I asked to speak with the Manager. He was already gone for the day, which personally I think is poor leadership and probably why this store is run so poorly. So I left a message for him to call me. Several days went by and no call. I called the store again and left a message saying he would return my call. Again no return call. After several attempts of discussing this issue with him still no call backs.
So o have come to the conclusion that I definitely will NOT be using Camping World for trade in and purchase of new RV nor will I ever use them for anything if this is how they treat their customers.
Desired outcome: A apology from the Store Manager.
