I have been unable to use my Macy’s Platinum card since the start of 2024. I attempted to make a purchase on January 1st at the Macy’s in Torrance, California, but my card would not accept the purchase. I realized that I had not activated my new card and thought this was the reason why my purchase was unsuccessful. I visited this same location on January 18th to purchase 2 dresses and experienced the same problem with my Macy’s card. The salesman put me on the phone with a customer service representative who asked for my date of birth and social security number in order to confirm that I was the card holder. While I understand the need to provide this information, I was not willing to provide that information while other customers were within hearing range. I was sent to another counter to resolve the issue, only to experience the same exact scenario as the previous register. The customer service representative I spoke with on that phone call, said a letter would be sent with a number for me to call within 7-10 days. I called the number on the back of my card on January 19th in hopes of getting an answer as to why I couldn’t use my card. The person I spoke with was no help and kept telling me to wait for this letter. I asked repeatedly for her to find a manager for me to speak with, but she kept saying that she could not, or perhaps would find one. I sent 2 secure messages on Janu 23rd, explaining my situation thorough my account on the website and to this day have never received a response to either message. I received a call from Macy’s on February 4th and I explained my situation. The customer service rep gave me another number to call. This call produced no resolution and I was then told that I would not receive the letter for another 10-14 days. A full month has passed and I still have not received the letter, nor a response to my previous secure messages. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of service shown and unconcern to resolve my issue.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a direct response from Macy's to finally resolve this issue.
