I joined Massage Envy at Westlake Village last October. I met with the branch manager and I specifically asked her what the cancellation policy was in case I lost my job. Tiffany stated all I would need to do is provide a written request 30 days in advance. Being that she was the manager I did not feel the need to question her and take the time to sit down and read the fine print of the contract to validate her statement.
On 20-Feb I informed Massage Envy that I lost my job and I want to cancel my membership. Tiffany told me this what not possible and I can only freeze my account. I refused and she stated she would speak with the owner.
21-Feb- I received a call from Tiffany stating that the owner agreed to allow me to pay a 177.00 cancellation fee and I can not use the services I already paid for. I agreed to these terms and followed up by email per her request.
24- Feb- I received a phone call from the receptionsit to confirm my appointments. I asked for the manager and was told she out of the office. Clearly there is no communication at the branch. I came in person and the manager was present. I was informed that the owner had decided to revoke the agreement and that I would be accountable for the remaining 8 installment payments. The staff refused to inform me who the owner is and why. When I asked the policy about freezing both girls were unsure and I had to verify. I have frozen my membership and do not want to conduct further business with this company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
