On 8/3/2023, my husband booked a suite at Red Roof Inn, located at 2591 Wilde Lake Blvd, in Pensacola, Fl through Expedia. We arrived at the hotel, my husband checked in and then we went into room 106. He put our things in the room and went across the street to pick up a food order. When he returned, about 20 minutes later, I told him we could not stay. There was mildew on the outside of the shower curtain, there were multiple dark strains on the white area of the bedspread, there was a stain on the underlay under the comforter and the worst thing was RAT FECES on the top of the shelf that covered the clothes rack.
We went to the front desk; I showed and told the clerk we were checking out and why. She went into the room with me, took pictures and sent them to the manager. She offered us another room, but I told her if that with the condition of that room, I would never trust the cleanliness of another room in that hotel. As we were speaking in the lobby, I looked up and saw two enormous water spots in the ceiling. The owner/manager was notified by Expedia on 8/4/2023. The location was only willing to refund half of our money. This was unacceptable and we told Expedia so. Expedia gave us a credit to cover the other half.
Red Roof Inn Corporate needs to investigate and know the conditions of hotels that are under their franchise. This hotel is the worse representation imaginable. I will be reporting this to the county and any other agencies because this location is unsafe for anyone. I DO HAVE PICTURES FOR PROOF OF OUR ROOM CONDITIONS.
