RE: Personal Training Membership $210.00 fee charged to my credit card without my authorization.
As a member of LA Fitness, I'm writing to inform corporate of a $210.00 personal training membership fee that was charged automatically to my credit card without my consent. On March 12, 2012, I spoke to a personal trainer regarding my fitness goals. He weighed me on the scale and took my body fat. Moreover, he suggested various strength-training programs and gave me a brochure with different price ranges. I specifically told him that I didn't have the resources to invest in a personal trainer at this time. He also told me that I could come in for a free training session anytime and I agreed. My appointment was on Wed, March 14. On that day, I called to cancel my appointment. I left a message for the trainer with the person at the front desk. He did call back saying that he received my message and that he was calling me back to reschedule. I never told the guy that I wanted to reschedule. I said that I wanted to cancel my free training session because a personal training membership was too expensive for me at this time.
This morning, I called the LA Fitness gym in South Miami, Florida and got customer service attitude from several women working in the front desk. As a loyal member of this facility, I deserve to be treated with respect. The attitude the woman had was plain ridiculous! This same woman hung up on me twice and didn't give me a chance to finish my statement. As far as the personal trainer, he never called me back and I left my number twice for him to call. I called him a few more times and they told me that he was busy with assisting other customers and the operating manager wasn't in the office.
On March 19th, I called the corporate office in California (same number listed here on your website) I spoke to an agent who provided me with excellent customer service. She apologized for the inconvenience and told me that she would call and speak to the operating manager regarding this issue. This message is to confirm that the $210.00 fee has been credited back to my account. The agent emailed me a copy of the personal training membership cancellation fee. I do hope this is the last time LA Fitness does this because if this happens again, I will terminate my gym membership with them once and for all. This is totally unacceptable! I have already called my bank and they told me that this credit will post in one or two days. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Marlene L. Ramirez Miami, Florida

If I don't hear back from anyone, I will just address a letter to corporate office headquarters.
