M / I Homes - Construction defect/mold issues

We had a house built by MI Homes and we moved into it on 2/4/20. We have had what looks like black mold appearing on our vents and water marks in all the bathrooms and bedrooms. I filed a claim with our insurance company, Olympus Insurance, and they had an inspector come out and also HydroSource to locate the origination of the leak.

We believe it started about a week after moving into the house when my son-in-law went to take the first bath in the master suite bathtub (on the 2nd floor), but someone failed to install the overflow valve. Water began leaking so quickly in the bathroom on the first floor (below the master suite bathtub) that it was as if it were pouring rain in the 1st floor bathroom. MI put a bandaid on it by hiring a company to come dry it out. They never even checked to see if there was water damage — they simply put fans up to dry the bathroom. Never anything above the ceiling.

There is black mold on all of the ceilings in every bathroom around the vents. Also in the bedrooms, black mold can be seen on the ceilings. The amount of mold in the attic is unbelievable. It is around the a/c and the inspector that came for the insurance company said there are multiple leaks in the a/c, causing cold air to mix with the hot air in the attic and causing mold to grow. The person from HydroSource said we’re going to have so much mold everywhere up there in a matter of a couple of years since it’s already been almost 3 years of this happening and not being repaired.

There is a crushed pipe that was obviously done deliberately because it is not in an area where anyone would ever be and it was covered with 15 inches of insulation.

Desired outcome: To get MI Homes to fix the problems with the HVAC, pay to have the remediation of the mold, replace the insulation, repaint the ceilings where the water marks are and anything else that needs to bring the house back to livable conditions.
