Good afternoon,
My name is Kashay Bass and this summer I worked at the Joseph B. Whitehead club in Atlanta, GA. I am very familiar with the club because I am an alumni so, everything was smooth for the most part. When I began working, I attempted to set up my direct deposit however I received an error message. When I informed someone from HR through email they said they would get back but never did. However, I didn't stress it because I knew I would be leaving to return to college at the end of the summer so I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Then, I received my first check in paper so I thought the issue had been dealt with and someone had just forgotten to get back with me. As time went on, I didn't receive my next check and when I brought it to the attention of my director, they said they would look into it and in the meantime they would cut me the check I was owed. They eventually found that it had went into the account however I never received it on my end. Most importantly, it was a Cashapp account that I use as a third party bank because I attend school in the Virgin Islands and currently do not own a bank card. When I brought this to the attention of my director, she sat on the phone with me and Cashapp support multiple times. The support workers gave us the run around and we had to speak to almost 5 or 6 different people in the span of 2-3 days. When I finally spoke with someone who understood the situation, they said they didn't see that I received it and they would open a case and email me with the findings for me to share with Ms. Mary Singleton in finance, who was helping me at the time figure out what was going on. They ended up saying how they didn't have any findings of a direct deposit and when I shared this with Ms. Singletone, she was adamant about not releasing my next check to me. The week of August 14th I had multiple calls with Ms. Singleton where she was very rude and dismissive, basically telling me since she had cut the check prior to us knowing what the issue was, they weren't going to pay me my last check owed to me especially because on their end it shows it being received by me. I didn't find this to be fair so I asked numerous times to be contacted or given the number of someone above her to help me resolve the issue. I became frustrated because that was two weeks I had worked basically for no pay and now I was going to have to come to school with less money than intended for something that wasn't my fault. Also, recently I received a notification that my check was released on August 31 and it was only $ as opposed to the $1,300+ that I was owed. I reached out once again to Ms. Singleton when I noticed they had taken the $994 back because this wasn't discussed with me and once again, I don't feel is fair. I have the threads of communication for every step and would like to be paid for the time I worked.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate it if I'm paid the money I'm owed and can sit and discuss this with someone who isn't rude and is understanding with some empathy..
