Plato's Closet - treatment in store

I was once an employee of Plato's Closet in Sandy Springs, GA. On July 31st I went into one of the Plato's Closet stores owned by my former employer to sell some clothing. Once inside I was told it would be about a 2 hour wait. I understood as it was very busy in the store and I used to work there. I left and when I came back they were pricing my clothes.
To make a long story short, there was a dispute over an item. I said they could just not accept that one and give me the money for the others they wanted to buy. However, the store manager became verbally abusive toward me and then the clerk to void the check and not take any of my items. He threw my shoes at me and was screaming at me while I tried to put my clothing back into the bags.
I contacted the owner of the store, as I still had her number. She video tapes the activities in both of her store, and saves them and watches them. She said she would get back to me, but after several hours she did not return my call. I called her back and she said they was nothing she could do.
These stores have no control and there is clearly a lack of supervision!

The employees have not been "trained to act as robots". We have been trained to be polite, but I'll tell you what, it gets really freaking hard to be polite when we're dealing with [censored] customers all day every day. It's hard to look a person in the eye for some people and tell a customer that there is a fault in their clothes that inhibits us from being able to purchase it. What's wrong with that? Jesus isn't going to bring down the terrible corrupt plato's closet. If anything, I pray he will direct the business of these rude, evil people away from our store so I as an employee will not have to leave work crying anymore. Thank you.

WOW! My hubby and I went there, to plato's closet, a few days ago to sell clothes. We had really nice roca ware and other nice name brands that belong to our 15 year old daughter. They would not except any of them and they really didn't have a good reason why. They never even looked up at us as they spoke to us. It's sad to say that I think it had everything to do with the color of my skin. I decided to leave it in the hands of the lord and if this store is really conducting business like this they will not prosper. In Jesus name! Amen.

I bought a leather jacket a week ago $15. The next day returned it, it was a bit big for me, tag attached, with my receipt. The girl at the register very impolitly with an attitude asked if I was going to exchange the jacket with another item, I said "no". She walked away from the register whispering to one of the workers something, then to the second one! I was very uncomfortable, I asked the girl if there was a problem? she said she didn't know and I had to wait for the cashier to explain. I had been a customer for over 5 years, they all know me so well and how much I shop there, so I asked the cashier, what the problem was, she said the plastic attaching the tag to the jacket was an inch longer than their tag gun plastics and the item had been retagged! She could not take the item back as she accused me of retagging the jacket! same tag, with a receipt, purchased 24hrs prior! I was shocked! I wasn't sure what to do and say as it was such an odd and embarrassing moment as all eyes were on us! These girls have been trained to act as robots, there is NO customer service attitude, no curtousy or respect. So why is it that we keep taking our clothes to them, in return for nickle and dimes! when we can buy brand designer clothing at Ross, Marshall's or TJ Maxx for the same price... NEW! and they gladly accept returns or exchanges without treating us like criminals! Plato's Closet is a scam, their prices are going higher and higher and they need to be stoped. The owners do not care, they love the money that's pouring in their bank accounts. As for the cashier who's been working at the Barrett Parkway location for probably a good 6 years! $7hr. she may want to look into a job solving real crimes, a detective interrogating suspects! They have lost me as a customer, and I felt obligated to tell you all about this,
God Bless,
z.
