Date/time of incident 19 mar 2021 approximately 1220 pm
I entered the circle k on Washington road in Evans GA. I immediately went to the back of the store to get a fountain drink, while there I happened to notice a lady at the back of the store scratching lottery tickets.
I filled my drink and got in the checkout line, as I was standing in line waiting to walk to the register, the lady came to the front of the store. I was next in line and proceeded to the register. The lady said "that is the lottery line" and I replied it's a register for checking out. I put my drink on the counter and proceeded to ask for a tobacco product. At this time the clerk, a tall young man with a beard that stuck out from behind his mask, told me "she was here first"... I replied "no, she wasn't, I watched her walk up here!" he again stated that she was there first... I put my drink down on the counter and told him to have a good day and I walked out.
Make it right! This was wrong, if the clerk had told the female customer to come back to the front of the line and that he would take care of her because of an error or problem, that would have been fine. But to have her come back to the front of the line simply because she had purchased scratch off lottery tickets and she wants to cash them in? She can wait in line like everybody else.
Desired outcome: Either a policy or some type of sign that says all lottery players go to the front of the line regardless of who else is in line or some type of policy enforcement. Treat all customers the same! Or teach your clerks customer service!
