I bought a couple of items yesterday and I changed my mind on the purchase. I brought two items which I paid for using my Debit card. The items were not opened they were in perfect condition, I just changed my mind.
It was close to closing time, when I got to the counter. I gave the items with my proof of purchase. She processed the transaction as a credit. She told me that it will take 3 days for me to get the credit back. I walked away puzzled and turned back around to show her that I paid with my Debit card, and I really needed the cash back but she never offered a choice to apply it to my Debit card or if I wanted cash back. I have returned items before using my debit and was always given cash back when I used my Debit card. This person never offered me a choice, she just put it back to my card as a credit.
This was wrong since I was expecting my cash back. So I asked for the manager. Of course he said there is nothing that they can do about it since it was processed already.
I explained to him that that was her error, He then told me I should have requested cash back from the beginning. How do I know that I should have made a cash request at the start of the transaction? I never had this problem when I returned items I bought using my debit card. It is unethical practice. They never apologized to me, just kept telling me that it was done and there was no way to reverse the situation.
