Me and my 5 granddaughters were scheduled out of Boise on June 22 at 1:34 on flight DL 874. I got on early because of a handycap. I never got on a plane that was basically completely dark. I should have known that there was something wrong then. Eventually everyone got on board and we were then told that there was a computer problem that was being addressed. We kept hearing the same thing for 3 hours before we were told to get off of the plane while it was being worked on. To my knowledge the plane never moved for at least 5 more hours. The first question I have is why we were ever put on a plane that wasn't working and then sat in those seats for 3 plus hours? I understand maintenance problems, but why were we put on a plane that was not ready to fly?
We were put on flight 4148 to Seatle, leaving at 9:07, a red-eye to Atlanta and then on to Cleveland-arriving about 10:45 the next morning. I do not like the trip taking an extra 11 hours, but I understand that things happen. However, we got out on the tarmac and were told that there were storms in Seattle and that we had to wait on the plane for an hour before leaving. The storms were not something that "just happened". Boarding could have been delayed an hour and all of the passangers would have beem must more comfortable. Once again, why does Delta put me and my 5 granddaughters on a plane and let them just sit on the tarmac?
