I dropped off a prescription (controlled substance to help treat a fairly severe chronic lung condition) at the pharmacy on 1/20/19 and was told my prescription had to be ordered and would be ready on 1/21/19. I received no call about this prescription, so went to the pharmacy to follow up on 1/27/19. I was told y the pharmacy tech that there was a problem with the insurance and I should call on 1/28/19 to speak with the pharmacist. When I called on 1/28/19, the pharmacist Octavia Dunn informed me she was waiting on the doctor to call back, that she needed more information as to why I am taking this medicine. I called my doctor and asked him to call the pharmacist back. I followed up with my doctor on 1/29/18 and he informed me that when he called back they informed him "there was a mistake we will take care of, no need to speak with the pharmacist." I called and spoke with the pharmacist again, Octavia Dunn, who told me " I am not filling your prescription." I asked her what the problem was and first she said the doctor never called back. When I told her he had, she said they were suppose to tell him she was not filling it. I asked her what the problem was and her response was "there are a lot of reasons, but I have decided I will not be filling your prescription. You can pick it up and take it elsewhere if you want." According to her, I should not be taking the medication I was prescribed, the same kind I have been taking for over 3 years now. I once again told her to call the doctor if there was a problem or if he should change it to a different kind and she responded "I don't need to speak with him because regardless of what he says, I will not fill it." Very bad customer service from her. When I asked for corporates number she responded with "I am sure you can figure it out yourself." I spoke with a manager there who was able to easily provide me with the phone number and apologized for her attitude. I left a message to the DM of pharmacy and am still waiting for a call back. I took my prescription to another Osco location where I was able to fill with no problems. The pharmacist there said she saw nothing wrong with the script, but called the doctor to verify everything just in case. The doctor answered and verified the prescription was correct and that I NEED this medication due to my medical condition. I am glad she was able to help, and am sorry I didn't get her name to compliment her. I will definitely look for it and write a compliment because after being treated very unfairly by Octavia, she made me feel a lot better. I must say, Octavia needs to learn not to judge people. I am certain she did this because I am young and don't "look" as sick as I am. I felt very discriminated by her, and will no longer take any prescriptions to this location until she is gone.
