I was at this Jewel
1069 N Roselle Rd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169
Wanted to return a case of Ensure. The lady at the service desk said she I couldn't return anything over $5 without a receipt. I explained to her that I had bought it for my mom a month ago and then my Mom died - that's why I wanted to return it. I am literally crying in front of her. She still says no. I asked to see a manager. The manager comes and she gives him the case and he leaves for about ten minutes. He comes back and actually yells at me and says "this isn't even from this jewel and I will do this ONE time for you but don't EVER come back and try to do this again because I am only doing this ONCE for you. He walks away, the lady at the service desk mumbles"sorry for your loss" and processes the return.
How cold and unfeeling can you be? The manager had no idea why I wanted to return the ensure. I think you need to have everyone take some sensitivity training. I felt like a child getting yelled at and that was the last thing I needed in the emotional state I was in. Talk about a gut punch. There are so many grocery stores around now - I have been a Jewel customer for over 40 years but this whole experience makes me think twice about going to your stores.
