I had a check get returned which is no big deal. I went to the person writing me the check and he wrote me a new one after he made sure he had the funds in his account. 895.00. Days later I went in to put another check in they notified me that they were holding the last check of 895.00 and now my account is negative because ive been spending some of the money that I thought went into my account and because of that I had seven overdraft fees. I called the Rock Island branch to get this squared away because I need money to feed my kids. The branch manager wasn't there at the time and I talked to the assistant branch manager Jessica. She was completely rude and refused to help me. Claimed there was nothing she could do. I called the 24 banking number and they told me that the branch should easily be able to take care of it. Then the lady from 24 hour banking called the Rock Island branch to see what was going on. When she called me back she said that Jessica was completely rude and didn't seem interested in helping me. The 24 hour lady then told me that I should wait until the next day when the manager is in. After that I called the Moline branch because my kids need dinner and I cant buy anything with my negative account. The lady from Moline said shes going to call and see what she can do and call me back. While that is happening I left work early and went to the Rock Island branch myself. I talked to a man there. I believe his last name was Perez. He was a complete rude person and I dont understand how he works with people. He told me that the assistant didnt want to speak to me (which is terrible customer service). I asked for all the paper work for accounts so I could do my research. Instead of handing me the papers, he threw them at me! Once I left, the nice lady from Moline called me and said she called the bank from where the check came from and they pushed the check through. So after 3 hours of dealing with rude people at Rock Island who refused to help me, the lady from Moline helped me in 15 minutes so I could feed my children. The Rock Island branch never notified me that they were putting a hold on my check which is illegal. My kids had to eat a can of corn for dinner last night, and I didnt eat at all! This morning I went back to the Rock Island and Sue who is the main manager helped me out within 5 minutes with refunding me the seven overdraft fees of 36.00 a piece. To the lady from the Moline branch, thank you sooooo much. To Jessica and Mr Perez, I think both of you should work on customer relations because as soon as I set up my new account at IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union I will be closing my account with a big smile on my face. Hopefully someone has a chat with these two people and they change their attitude. You dont mess with people's money just because youre too lazy to call the other bank and push the check through.
