I have recently experienced the hospitality (or more appropriately the lack of) at the Newberg, OR branch of US Bank. My father had recently passed and my mother just placed on Hospice care. Because of this, there was a fair amount of work that was needed to put their financial affairs in order. All the financial institutions I worked with were more than accommodating (walking me through the process, helping prepare the necessary documents…), all that is except US Bank. The best term I have for explaining their behavior is obstructionist. Andrew, the individual I worked with on unfortunately numerous occasions, appeared to take pleasure in finding errors or missing document, without providing instructional input on how to change, and sending me on my merry way to correct things, despite knowing I was from out of state and on a time crunch. His response, as well as that of the managers (who as others have noted makes an excellent wingman for Andrew), was that they are not lawyers and don’t do this. Thank God the other financial institutions I worked with did not have that same attitude. With all the other banks and branches available in Newberg, I would suggest that there are numerous better options for banking than US Bank.
