missing money/bad customer service
Long story short
I have been receiving child support for 2 years. The first 4 months were right on with the amounts and the amount was consistent. 2 deposits in a month of $350.00.
Since the beginning of this year (2015) c.s. have taken $1000 I have only received $350.00.. I go to use my card at 4 different places each place saying the card took off $ 2.77, $3.49 and so on. What is up w/ that? The money is going somewhere and not to me.
Back to the first year my kids dad was in arrears $1900.00. When he filed taxes, child support took the full $1900.00. Relia card showed only a $900.00 deposit. I never received the other $1000.00. I called the customer service # on the back of the card. There should be a paper trail of the money, you would think! After being redirected several times. I was holding for fraud loss prevention. The time I waited was 2 hours an 23 mins. A rep came on the phone and asked how could he help me. I started to tell him he interrupted me. He said I can't help you, wrong department and then click. He hung up on me. WTF right! I wasn't rude, loud or disrespectful. Many days and so many hours on hold getting no where. I just let it go due to not having the time or patience. I called my c.s. worker no answers or helpful advise who to call or what I should do.
The amount from payroll checks that is being garnished for child support from the father doesn't match with relia card deposits. Unknown fees and service charges.
There is a huge problem and the money is going somewhere. I have changed my pin several times. I forgot the pin one time and they were going to send it to me. It never came. Another time I lost my card. I called to report lost or stolen after waiting a month for the new card. I called to find out that they put a hold on the card but didn't issue me a new one. When I finally got the new one. They said my balance was $293.00 which doesn't make any sense. I didn't have a card for 2 months. There should have been $1400.00. There needs to be a investigation on the relia card and all agencies involved with processing payments and transactions adding fees and charges that should not be a fee. After all the missed money I'm going to a different bank and opening a account for direct deposit. I still want answers! I have 3 kids and I rely on the c.s. a great deal. Which for the last year 1/2 has been barely nothing and very inconsistent.
reliacard keeps your money
***If you are on a fixed income i.e. child support, unemployment, etc. have your funds direct deposited into a REAL bank account, not this prepaid card!***
I started receiving past due child support a few months ago. I ran out of checks so I could not fill out the direct deposit form, so I allowed the state to have U.S. Bank Reliacard issue me this card to receive the support funds. HUGE MISTAKE!
Back in November 2014, I used the card at a gas station for $34.00. A preauthorization amount of $125.00 came out of the funds on my card, along with the $34.00. After a week of the preauthorization funds not being returned to me, I filed a dispute. Needless to say, it is February and I still have not received the funds back into my account.
I have called Reliacard a total of 11 times since the dispute was formally filed, totaling over 16 hours of waiting on hold to get a resolution. Back on January 21st, I finally got a responsive and competant customer service rep who, with the help of the research department, finally told me that my funds would be returned to me within 24 to 48 hours. I am still waiting. I have even gotten two different supervisors on the phone since then (only through patient persuasion) who seemed concerned, placed me on hold for over an hour, and ultimately gave me a time frame to call me back with an update. Both times, I have not gotten a call back.
Please note: You will be given every reason under the sun why a supervisor cannot speak to you. You will even be hung up on. Customer service reps treat you as a waste of time and read off a script telling you that you have to wait 90 days for a resolution to the dispute, without looking into the account. To me, I was told previously that a mistake was made, my funds would be returned, so I considered it resolved. US Bank Reliacard is anything but reliable and I will have to continue to badger them to receive the money that I am owed due to THEIR mistake. --- 2/25/14 UPDATE: U.S. Bank Reliacard has now told me that I should file another new dispute with different wording and then maybe they can help me. A supervisor told me that the customer service rep who told me that I would be getting my money back will be "coached " as I was given incorrect information. They apparently see no error now.
Needless to say, save yourself alot of time, headache and hassle. Get your funds direct deposited somewhere, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS "BANK."
deposit account handling
Several months ago we opened deposit accounts with US Bank after a blizzard of paper work and disclosures. Subsequently, we made two large deposits. Three months later we had a phone call from the local branch telling us they had been instructed by some undefined back office to ask a series of very inappropriate questions about those deposits. When we refused to answer these questions which were no business of any bank, they threatened to close to account. We specifically instructed them to do so. Nothing happened for a month. Then, a threatening letter arrives saying they will close the account, but continued to fail in remitting the funds in a timely manner despite promises to the contrary. This bank deserves to lose business given the poor treatment of highly creditworthy customers, which the bank verified by checking Chex Systems at the time of opening the account.
ripped me off
These guys are unprofessional, and have no idea what they're doing! Here's an awesome story about how a lovely teller at my local branch doesn't know how to read my account and really gave it to me good. Saturday: 31 January, 2015: I cancelled my Netflix back in December and still got a charge for January. I called this lady (01/31), and she says she can...
Read full review of US Bank and 24 commentsknowingly delaying a short sale
My family and I have been trying to buy a short sale home since August 2014. The first mortgage bank has accepted the selling price and all financing is in place and approved. The home has been vacant for 4 years and there have been 8 other potential buyers before us. The second mortgage holder is US Bank and we have been waiting for 6 months now for the bank to sign the loan documents so we can close. They have intentionally delayed the process by not signing the documents, even though they had previously signed them with the last buyer. Why? I am not trying to flip the house or make profit. I would like to raise my family and retire one day in the home. How does a bank with a second mortgage worth a fraction of what the first bank has invested have the power to hold up a sale? Sounds a bit unethical and suspect to investigation.

scam / fraud
Bought a $25.00 gift card and went to use it for the first time online and the card was declined. Went to the gift card site and called the only phone # that was listed. I had given my card # to some women. She told me when checking the card # it was a invalid number. I told her I was trying to register the card and she kept telling me the card # wasn't any good. She had asked if I called the right phone number to register it, I told her that the number posted on the website was the only phone listed. I asked her where she was located and she said in India. I told her I'm in the USA and that I bought it from a local store in my hometown. The women told me to try calling tomorrow, I asked her why, she stated that I might be able to reach customer service. I told her that it stated on the website a customer service was available 24/7. I called the store where I bought the card to let them know what had happened, they told me to speak with a store manager tomorrow about the situation. I told the night manager he should pull all the gift cards off the rack for now, so their not selling any more cards until they find out what happened. I didn't get any where with the women on the phone from India and I'm making sure I file a complaint with the Attorney General Office in my hometown as well.

misinforming customers about features and collecting fees
I had called US Bank asking if they had a feature to automatically move money from my savings account to checking, if there was an overdraft. They explicitly told me there was none on 9/22/2014. On 10/27/2014 there were overdraft and negative balance fees for 86$ and they refunded me back only 43$. When I called back and asked their recommendation is to...

I was victimized by a Binary Option Trading platform run by Tiger Options who misrepresented themselves to be based here in the US. Since they claim that they were based in the US. Now since Mr. John Delaware claimed that they were based in the US I naturally that they would under United States Federal Regulations. I made a deposit to an account with Tiger Options using two Credit Cards one was my Capitol One Visa card in the amount of $3500 and the other one was a US Bank credit card in the $4500. I was told by Tiger Options that this qualifies me for a professional Account Manager that will instruct me on how to do trades and he guarantees that with my $8000.00 + $8000.00 bonus that they would match my deposit with that's a total of $16, 000.00 I would be able to make at least $10, 000 every month. When everything was set up in my account all documents were signed and the trading session with my account manager on the phone to tell me which trades to initiate on the first 15 minutes trading session. I followed each instruction on what currency to trade with whether to trade with a Call or a Putt where I was told to invest. We invested at least $10, 000 on different types of currencies, as I was making the trades while following the instructions of my Tiger Option account manager. I kept on asking him over the phone "are you sure about this because I said we are trading to much and to fast" but he just kept on telling me to follow every instruction that he makes in order to make that $10, 000 a month profit since after all he is the professional trader and he knows what he was doing. On the fist session I was really relieved when it was over because I found that that we were ahead by $2000.00. So this then made me less nervous in following my Account manager's instructions.
Then when the next trading 15 minute session started. He gave me all the instructions again on what currencies to trade with and whether to make a Put or a Call. I had more confidence on my account manager now since we won $2000 on the first session after Then we made more trades than the first 15 minute session. In the back of my mind I still felt very uncomfortable about the whole thing. Then it happened I watch in Horror as I saw the trades that I was instructed to make were all losing we didn't just lose the $2000 that I won on the first session we also lost close to another $10, 000 on the second trading session.
That's when I realized that this is beginning to look like a big scam, if I continued I would all of my $8000.00 + the $8000.00 bonus that Tiger Options gave me in the next 15 minute trading session. So I decided to withdraw all of my $8000.00 before that happened. I also took the liberty to take snapshots of the withdrawals that I made to document the transactions as it was being made. On the time since time my Tiger Options account manager was still on the phone kept on asking me calling me what was I doing? Why was I not following his instructions? So I told him the deal is not going to work out, because if I continue to follow him I would lose all of my $8000.00 investment that is why I initiated my withdrawals before it happened. I also told him that I have documented everything that has happened and will send those documents to my Credit Card company to prove to them that I was being Scammed so that I will get all of my money back from Tiger Options.
I immediately called both Credit Card companies Capitol One Visa and the US Bank Visa. I told them everything that has just happened and I said that I have it all documented everything from the very beginning until the end because I have a feeling that Tiger Options might not honor the withdrawals that I made to get my $8000.00 back. Both Credit Card companies told me that I shouldn't worry since I have documented everything I will definitely get all of my money back even if Tiger Options doesn't initiate the funds transfer for my withdrawals. Two days later I called Capitol One Visa and they told that I already have all of the $3, 500 back into my account so I was relieved. However with US Bank it was a different story. I had to make numerous phone calls in explaining to them the nature of my dispute. The Processing Agent assigned to my dispute always unavailable and I was also told the she would get back with but she never did. I was to fax and re-fax more and more documentation because they say that it was required again . I even instructed to write a letter describing everything and re-faxed all of the snap shot with the instructions and descriptions on how everything happened again. After three weeks of calling US Bank over and over again. I finally got a letter from the Processing agent for US bank telling me that they will "Not be able to help me" with my case because they consider the transactions as valid since I gave them Tiger Options my Card number over the phone. I said to them over "how come Capitol One was able to process my claim in approximately two days. They couldn't explain why. Nevertheless US Bank said that this then makes me liable for the $4500. 00 that I now owe US bank. When I called US Bank and asked to speak to someone in Authority I was given the Processing agents supervisor, and I asked him that even after all of the documents that I sent US Bank and the letter describing everything that has happened they cannot help me. Even when they know that I was a victim of Fraud or a Scam because Tiger Options miss represented themselves as a US based Binary Option platform. Although later on I found out that they were based in Hong Kong. Even with all of the evidence presented to the US Bank they still will not be able to help me get my money back. Since according to US Bank even when I have documentation of the the withdrawals that I made and even when the money transfer from Tiger Options never happened they still cannot help me. Is it because they know that since the transaction was a large amount they wanted to collect the interest on that specific charge?
fraudulant company
US Bank closed the account and refused to send me a billing statement. I filed
Chapter 13 Bankruptcy this year on a different loan account. I didn't
have a choice since they sued me. Since April 2014 US Bank
has CLOSED the mortgage account and has refused to send me a monthly
billing statement. Now it is August and the Company has decided to
REOPEN the account and put the past due payments and late fees on the
bill.
Sad thing is, my attorney says that it is purely legal. So I am warning
anyone who wishes to deal with this bank. DON'T DO IT!
This company is trying to force me out in the streets. So I am forced to
pay their outrageous charges for a while longer. I am going to try to
move this account since they reopened it. I can't make payments online.
They charge a $12.00 fee. If I make a payment by phone they charge
$10.00 fee, and they refuse to accept what I can afford.
Now US bank is trying to force me to take their exuberant insurance premiums.
Don't deal with US Nigerian Scam Bank. This bank is nothing more than a FRAUD.

customer service???
I see that US bank has a 1 star rating for customer
service… I totally understand why
now.
I am a 67 year old grandmother, and have been a customer of US Bank for
years. My only income these days is
social security, and I can’t afford to just let USBank keep the $467. that they have lost, because they don’t want
to take the time to put it back in my checking account.
I paid my house payment on the 3rd of this month
through bill pay, and the payment went to my USBank credit card which had a $0.
Balance. (not sure how the credit card
got on my billpay list… I didn’t put it there and it has the same name as the
house payment) I realized what had
happened and called (2 hr. phone call) in an attempt to get it straightened
out. At that time I was assured that the
matter was taken care of and the money would be back in my checking account in
time to keep my house payment from being late on the 12. That did not happen, although I saw that
they money was removed from my credit card so that I no longer have access to
that money. It was not returned to my
checking account so that I was forced to take money out of my savings to pay my
house payment.
On the following Wednesday
17th, I called again (another 2 hour phone call) and was
finally assured that the matter was taken care of and the money would show up
in my account that day, but definitely no later than Friday. That also did not happen. At
the end of day on Friday, I called again (2 hours) and
was passed around from USBank customer service to USBank bill pay to USBank
credit card services. Everyone says it
is the other departments fault and they can’t (don’t want to be bothered to ) fix
it… so they transfer me… sometimes without warning. Stephanie with USBank bill pay even hung up
on me.
I then started trying to speak to a supervisor… and after a
couple of unsuccessful attempts I was told that a supervisor didn’t have the
time to talk to me Friday, but would call me back on Monday… I’m still waiting.
I attempted to make another call today
(Monday) and spoke to Sue… who would not
put a supervisor on the line and told me that I would have to wait until Friday
to have access to my money. She was very
sorry… but I am still tough out of luck. I was going to fill out their survey when I got off the line, but it was conveniently disabled.

i just recently paid off a line of credit for 25, 000. after my bank called for the payoff, they actually still sent a bill for an interest charge. i called and they said they would not take the fees off or refund them. extremely rood and more of a reason why i would never do business there again or work there for that matter. you would think a little amount compared to 25, ooo is nothing. pathetic. pooor customer service if you ask me.
USBank will not talk to the loan modificition company that i hired to work on my behalf. Even after giving them limited power of attoney so the bank and the modificition can talk about my mortgage.
terrible customer service
I checked the balance on my child support card online. It stated I had $69 and some change. We have no food in the house and I planned on grocery shopping with the child support money. I'm a single mom with one child. I shopped and when it came time to pay the cars was denied. I called [censored] customer service who claims my card is expired and it is I never even paid attention in the past they just send me a new one before it expired. They claim they sent me one and it was returned by mail. I have same address for three years. Now I have to wait three to five days for another card in the meantime can't access my child support to feed my child . Customer service don't seem to care and was like so.

us bank blocking me from my account
Do not use US Bank!
US BANK will not give me online access to my account. I was forced into using US Bank when it bought Charter One and transferred the customers over. I set up my online access yet it will not let me in. I have been dealing with this for 3 days now where they can't fix the problem to give me access to my account. They system does not work and the people that work there have no clue what is going on at all. Customer service stinks - when I tell them that they're having me do the same thing I've been doing for 3 days with other customer service people, which has caused me to get locked out of the system for another 24 hours each time- they give me attitude! Every time I have to call them I'm stuck on the phone for a minimum of 30-60 mintues! Don't waste your time with this bank.

denied unauthorized withdrawal
On Aug.13, 2013 my statement showed a withdrawal of $213.42 from CVS. This transaction which had been canceled. I called reliacard to explain and they told me that CVS pharmacy recharged my account. i called corporate office of CVS and talked to them about the withdrawal in which i was told they did not debit my card of $213.42. He also gave me a reference # to our conversation. i called reliacard back to relay the conversation with cvs corporate and they refused to do anything, wouldn't even take the ref# that was given to me from CVS corporate office. Reliacard did nothing but transfer me to another CS. support and again another customer service support in which both times I had to explain again my complaint. All of them said to me nothing they can do. The third time being on hold I was hung up on! I am still trying to get my money back that was unrightfully debited from my account.
Sincerely, Upset

leasing
i will never do business with us bank again, for any reason. i wanted to turn in my leased vehicle early and i set up an inspection with us bank and the dealership to turn it in. so i had to wait 2 weeks no big deal. i go to lease a different vehicle and pick it up after my inspection. so 2 days before my inspection i called to verify. they had no idea what i was talking about. they said it was 2months before it could be done. long story short. a manger calls me(after calling 4 different people). and argued with me saying his employee never set up this appt. blah blah blah. i said pull the tapes. he did. the appt. was made but never marked down.. you think they compensated me for anything? i now had 2 cars i was paying for because they messed up and they did nothing to make this right. on top of the running around with phone calls and noone calling me back for days on end. im glad to be done with them. i recommend people read all the complaints on us bank because customer service is not here specialty
deceptive fee rules
US Bank has been charging me monthly maintenance fees. According to their own rules, the fee would be waived if you have direct deposits over $1, 000 for the month. Every month I have well over that amount in deposits, but they still charge me. When I finally realized what was going on, I sent an e-mail to them showing the details (amounts, dates, etc) of my deposits. They had the gall of sending an answer e-mail saying that they do not consider most of my deposits as "eligible". There own rules cleatly say that direct deposits over $1, 000 are what determines whether a "maintenance fee" (whatever that is supposed to be) is charged or not. They say nothing about deposits being "eligible" or not. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CHEATING BANK! I am switching to Bank of America.

" Every month I have well over that amount in deposits, but they still charge me."
It sounds like the Direct Deposits (Which are payroll deposits ONLY) are not over $1000... But all the deposits are over $1000.
This means you still get charged.
Not all deposits are Direct Deposits. You could go over each day and deposit $1000 and then drive around the block, take the money out again, but that will not get you a free account at any bank. My advice is bank at the most convenient location to your home or work, while being careful to avoid fees. I have banked at Bank of America for years - they have rules and fees, too. In my area, there are credit unions offering free accounts with a minimum balance of $300 while BoA requires $1500. Both Bank of America and US Bank have treated me very well, never cheated. If you won't read your statements it is not the bank that is at fault. Wells Fargo? i bank there, too, no problems. Citi? No problems. Chase? No problem. Guess I'm just lucky.

no service of any kind
Have been with this bank for about 5 years now. To date, I never had late payment, made minimum payments, carried balances on cc, cc's, over-drafted, bounced or or committed any banking "no-no."
To my point-have deposited nearly $2 million dollars in these heathens hands thru Business Checking, Business Visa, Personal Visa, Personal Checking, Money Market and flawless credit. Meanwhile... US Bankcorp has managed to turn me down for everything. They Secured, Unsecured, Chargeback on HIGH end appliances with shipping damage... They are like having an abusive parent...And really-who pays for that? YUCK

did not close my account
So we opened a US Bank account in Joplin Mo. We banked with them for a few years and were constantly having issues. Some of them issues are being addressed in a class action lawsuit now. But I finally got tired of dealing with them and closed my account. We were living in Nebraska at this time and did it there. When we went in to talk to the lady she said she couldn't close the account at that time because it had pending transactions. after the pending transactions there would be a dollar and some change left. So she had us sign an affidavit to close the account when the pending charges finished processing. We never received the dollar and some change which is fine its only a dollar and they had already ripped us out of thousands with their fees and unethical practices. However, two years later we get a collections letter from us bank telling us we owed them hundreds of dollars. After looking into it i learned that they never closed the account and a few months later they sent a statement to our old address and when the statement was returned because we didnt live there anymore they charged us a $5.00 return statement fee. (Really. I guess that is a real fee) and that 5.00 fee put us in the negative. so they charged a 36 dollar overdraft fee on that. Then they charged 8.00 a day until they decided to go ahead and close the account out at almost $600 in the negative. Now I get all kinds of calls from debt collectors and my credit has taken a huge hit because it appears US Bank sold this debt they invented to five different collection agencies. None of the lawyers I talked to want anything to do with this. SMH My daughter says she cant wait to be rich so she can steal from poor people.

This is a common bank practice. They pretty much all do this, with the exception of a few credit Unions.
overdraft fee
I had set up an automatic bill (by e-check) pay with a credit card company. The monthly installments were $300, which would automatically drafted form my US Bank account. Running into financial difficulty, I requested that US Bank not pay that allow the upcoming installment. They informed me that they could stop the payment, but the credit card company would just resubmit the e-check request. This is exactly what happened (no fault of US Bank). The bank actually paid the $300 with only $200 in my account. They charged me an overdraft fee, which was fine, but I was unable to pay the entire cost. Ultimately US Bank closed the account and I found out from the credit card company that US Bank charged back the $300-- so I was still on the hook for credit card payment. I paid the entire credit card bill within six months, and paid the overdraft fee of $35 to US Bank as well. I was then contacted by a collection agency stating that I owed US Bank $660! I asked for verification of the debt, and it included the $300 plus fees. They never lost $300! I had another account with US Bank which I kept for the next 2 years. I just closed that account a couple days ago, and within 1 hour of closing the account, another collection agency called and stated I now owe $1, 000. US Bank did not pay a single dept, and all verification forms show that they received their original $300 from the credit card, and the credit card company verifies that the bank did not pay the debt, yet they are still stating I owe that money plus $700 in collection fees and late payments. It is important to note, that US Bank mandated 2 years ago that I pay the $35 overdraft fee to keep my other account, which I did. I have heard nothing from about any other charges until I closed the other account, which was in good standing. I have not had 1 overdraft since the one mentioned above and never let my account fall below $2, 000 since the financial crunch. I believe this institution is conducting unfair business practices and they are predatory in their behaviors.
