Store 3284 Villa Park
I have been customer of this store for 20+ years and 100 % of the times that we have an incident related on prices and quality are minimal, we approached to the Customer Service desk. We were listened and the problem was solved right away.
That didn't happen on Wednesday December 27th in the morning...
We acquired on the 20th from the Deli, Salad for my wife, Sushi for me and meatloaf for my son.
My son end up next day in the ER for Nausea and Vomiting with terrible stomach ache. My wife and myself were just fine...we didn't eat the meatloaf.
When I went on the 27th to talk to customer service at Villa Park location, the "manager" JIM told me that he couldn't do anything to make it up to us for the inconvenience and that we should file a complaint at the Heath Department.
I tried to leave copies of the situation, but he said literally that he will throw them to the garbage in front of the two assistants managers present at that moment.
He didn't even try to reimburse the sales and told me that people get sick just for being around other people.
I am a Food Science Engineer, that has been in restaurant business for more than 15 years. I know that ground beef not cooked at the right internal temperature of 160 F cause Listeriosis and could occur within 30 min to a week after the ingestion of the product...in this case meatloaf.
Jim didn't know this facts, he should be trained too in customer service. This was an easy fix and because he didn't know how to MANAGE the situation, he is putting on the line the prestige of your company, sending me to the Health Department.
I hope to hear from the Corporate office as soon as possible.

Jewel-Osco - Extremely rude behavior.
This morning when I went to jewel, I was disgusted with the manager's(Jim's) behavior. There was one lady who was working on self checkout and he just started yelling at her and berating her. He had demanded her to move to cashier but when she said she was, he started yelling and berating her. This is not the first time I've seen him take his anger out on someone else . His behavior was inexcusable and I will not be shopping at a store that treats their employees like trash despite how hard they work.
Jewel-Osco - shelves are not stocked enough
Villa park jewel has gone through many changes in the past few years, and not good changes.
Produce department is the first thing you see and there never seems to be produce cases full of good produce. The avocados 2 weeks ago should not have even been out for sale.
Langer's pomegranate juice is never properly stocked and I went into jewel along with my husband on separate occasions just for the juice and asked at counter for the product and we were both told if it's not out there it must be out of stock and no they did not offer to check in stock room.
In closing I would like to say that the villa park jewel is a convenient to so many communities but they need to know that if the store appearance and the ability to get what you need when you need it is not part of the every day routine, then, you will loose customers as me who will travel to get a better place to shop.
