Steak 'n Shake

on Feb 22, 2020 while out shopping, I decided to take my daughter and grandson to the local Steak N Shake. Upon entry a nice young lady greeted and seated us, took our drink orders and gave us menus. It was at this time, I hear a very loud, rude female voice complaining about a male employee, Tyler, being an hour and a half late. I did find that the managers name is Michelle. A few minutes later the group of servers were by the soda machines complaining about how they never know what their schedules are and when they are posted, they seem to either miss a day or are late. Same female voice again complaining about Tyler. She then walks over to the tea container complaining about it not being cleaned when it should have been. Seems like she was somewhat being nice to the female employees and complaining about the guys. Constant complaining loud enough that everyone in the dining room could hear her. Myself and my family would have liked to be able to sit and order our food and be able to eat without hearing all that we did.

There was an elderly gentleman sitting by himself, and as I was paying for my meal, I also in turn paid for his. I then turned and told the gentleman to have a nice evening. He was unaware that I had just paid for his food until I was walking out and the cashier explained what had happened.

This manager needs to have training and be more cautious what she is saying to and about her employees while customers are within ear shot of her. Next time I am in this location and hear the same thing, I will make it a point to let her know what I think about her tactics.
