I was travelling back from central kansas to middle tennessee on the night of may 12, 2010 and it began storming so I decided to spend the night in lawrence, ks. I checked in around midnight and was given room 111. When I got to my room there was a lot of noise in the room above me. I had to go get some toiletries so I left for an hour. I came back and there was still noise above me. I tried to sleep but it was extremely loud, not just a bump or two but it sounded like there was fighting or remodeling going on above me. I called the front desk, and the attendant told me that he had been having problems with them all night.
At about 2am I called back and asked to be moved to another room aftet the noise did not abate at all. The attendant said he could not move me, but he would make them be quiet. The people above me then began intentionally banging on their floor. At 3:30am I had enough and decided to go somewhere else. I packed my bags and went to the front desk to check out and get my money back. He then said he would prepare a room somewhere else for me. I told him that I wanted a refund. He refused. When I went to leave he said he could do $10 off the room. I did not find that acceptable, I wanted a refund because I paid for a room to sleep in, which they did not provide. It was impossible for any person to sleep in that room with a party going on upstairs. The attendant told me that they had rented adjoining rooms above me to have a party. But he still placed me in a room below theirs when I checked in.
When I was loading my car two police cars pulled into the hotel. I am guessing either the attendant or another guest called the police on the party above me.

TOBY ENGLE
Poor service, no towels for 4 people, no parking, no toilet paper, only one working light, NO BIBLE, a broken dryer, left after only 3 days because of this terrible service. TERRIBLE! I have never had such an experience in all the twenty years we have traveled.
I will never go back to a Motel 6, EVER. A little advice, South Padre Island Motel 6 is horrible...
On April 17th 2015 I checked into the Motel 6 in Capital Heights MD. The staff was very arrogant and foreign as usual. I was given no attention and the owner pushed me off on another employee. I paid $83.24 for a single room with smoking privileges. The room itself was clean and clear of any smells. The problem in the room was that the corner furniture was loose and falling over. I got there early enough to see my neighbors come in. While doing my people watching, I noticed and young female who made more than 10 trips from her room to somewhere on my left. These quick trips were reminiscent of drug traffic. Not really overly concerned, I went about my business. Took a shower and since I had to check out very early, I laid down to sleep. That is when the drunks began to argue outside my window. I could not open the window because it was nailed shut. I should have been gone then. As the above party said. The beating and banging above my head and got increasingly louder. I tried to sleep but I began to worry about my $30, 000 car and the things inside which were of considerate value. I could not sleep. I packed and went to the office. This hotel was one that catered to welfare vouchers and the negativity attached to it. For what I paid then I could have added another $20.00 and found a Holiday Inn. I turned in my key and told the employee why I was leaving. He made no offer to refund my money. I will never use 6 Motel ever again What I was charged as a single person is less than I paid for 2 at the Hammonds Mills, WV. Not being expensive should not always mean CHEAP. I KNOW WE ALL WANT THE American DREAM BUT NOT PERSONS WHO HAVE NO VALUE OTHER THAT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE. Third world cultures do not value things the same as law abiding citizens. If they see where they can cheat someone, they d. because they come from countries where they have to hustle real hard to get what we take for granted. Maybe Motel 6 should make some things mandatory for franchisees so that the good name of Motel 6 will be lifted. I intend to send information to all the hotel web sites. So for $83.24 you now have my undivided attention and I will make sure that I tell my story wherever someone will listen, until all your businesses will be forced to deal with nothing but Social Services. Tomorrow, Hotels.com and Hotwire. Tomorrow, the world. The next day Facebook and Twitter. I want to see if you enjoy economic suicide.
It seems to me you are making a mountain out of a molehill here. Why can't you just wait 5 minutes for coffee? What's the big deal? Why do you automatically jump to the conclusion this was race driven? They might put you in that room cause it's easier for them. that's all. Think about that
After 20 years, you are supposed to have enough money not to have to stay here.
