I was just informed that Liberty Mutual is canceling one of my auto policies due to the fact that we filed two claims last year. One claim was the result of a deer hitting our car in the area of the fuse box on the driver’s side of the car; totaling the car. The other claim was due to my husband’s car being hit by a gentleman who was entirely at fault (admitted and subrogated). We did not receive surcharges. We have a total of five polices with Liberty; two Auto, one Home Owner’s, one Fire Policy (on rental property), and an Umbrella Policy for Liability (additional coverage on car and property). We have never filed a claim against the Home Owner’s, Fire, or Umbrella Policy. We have been with Liberty Mutual for 47 years (since I was 16 years old). My Uncle sold me all the policies; he worked for Liberty his entire career. I even worked for Liberty as a claims adjuster in 1985. My husband has wanted me to change insurance companies for years (to save money), but I refused because I was loyal to Liberty and trusted them. Well now my husband’s wish is coming true. After 47 years, we are canceling all our policies and going to another company. I am beyond disgusted with Liberty Mutual, for their decision to cancel one of our auto policies because we filed two claims. I have cancer, and my health insurance provider has never once told me that they are canceling my policy because I submitted medical bills for chemotherapy! What kind of company cancels a policy with a loyal customer just because two claims were filed. That is the purpose of auto insurance, to get reimbursed for damages. We were not even at fault! I am going to post this complaint on every internet site to spread the word of this terrible decision by Liberty Underwriters. By the way, you can’t even speak directly to Liberty Underwriting Department. They are like the “wizard behind the curtain” who pulls strings and makes decisions to hurt loyal customers. My father was in his 80s when he took out a prime equity loan and was coerced into taking Liberty Mutual homeowners, a veteran with 32 years service in the military, in 2014 an ice storm destroyed 2 storage buildings and their contents on the property, Liberty Mutual charged my father a 1000 dollar deductible on every item. I am a nurse who works for the DOD in 2018 a hurricane, destroyed my fence another storage building and my roof, they sent me a check to clean of the trees and put up a fence to protect my dogs, they refuse now to repair the roof which is now leaking and damaging the interior which they say they will not repair, because I used the 2,600 dollars to clean up the tress and protect my dogs, one of their representatives told me to get a lawyer, I have the super deluxe version of their insurance with a 300,000 dollar limit and they will not fix the roof or damage, they even threatened me

My late father was coerced into getting liberty mutual insurance when he took out a prime equity loan. In 2014 after an ice storm, they cheated him and charged a thousand dollar deductible on every structure damaged in the yard. In 2018 while I was at work my roof and fence sustained considerable damage, they have given me a total of 2,700 dollars which covered tree removal and some damage to the fence, they refuse to pay for the roof and the damage has been getting worse. One representative said it should be repaired, she no longer works for them, I have been told by them to get a lawyer. They refuse to do anything and the damage is getting worse

My father was in his 80s when he took a prime equity loan out, he was coerced into getting liberty mutual ins. During an ice storm in 2014 they charged my father a thousand dollar deductible on every structure damaged. My father served in the US army for 32 years. I work for the DOD, in 2018 my roof was damaged in a storm, my fence was completely destroyed, they have only paid 2, 600 dollars to help remove the trees and damaged fence, my roof is getting worse and they refused to cover, it, they have threatened me as well, I cannot change insurance companies because it is tied into the prime equity, the damage is getting worse, one representative told me to get a lawyer. They have had over 900 complaints with the BBB, I checked they spend a small fortune in commercials and to the Trump campaign but will not pay claims

This company Liberty Mutual added someone to my insurance policy without my consent, never talking to me on the phone. When I called to find out why my insurance went up by $103.01 dollars the employee gonna tell my that they sent me a letter to confirm this individual lived at my home and since I never responded back they just added this person. What kind of [censored] is this? I guess if Santa Clause says he lives at my address they gonna add him to the policy too. The employee then ask if they should send another letter in the mail to me, whos to say these motherfuckers sent the first letter. This was some [censored] and they know, and right here at Christmas time. These [censored]ers cant sell me [censored] else and everyone that I know that has this insurance is gonna here about this [censored]. [censored]ing [censored]. And cancelation is coming soon
Liberty Mutual Insurance - Homeowners insurance with liberty mutual
I had two policies with liberty mutual insurance: one for my condo and one for a townhouse a few blocks away. On november 4, 2019, I mailed a check to the liberty mutual boston office for $240 for the condo insurance. The townhouse insurance was paid through september 2020. On november 23, 2019, I received a usps postal receipt confirming that my payment was delivered to liberty mutual insurance in boston on november 8, 2019! Apparently someone there lost my payment because in december I began receiving emails threatening to cancel my insurance for non-payment! I contacted the insurance company and had several emails back and forth from a ms. Csenar with the presidential service team claiming that they had not received my payment. Eventually, ms. Csenar just stopped responding to my phone calls and emails and liberty mutual cancelled my insurance claiming non-payment! I was forced to go to another company to insure my condo. On july 12, 2020, I received an unsigned email from liberty mutual insurance thanking me for renewing my insurance which I most certainly did not do! I can only guess that my payment sat in someone's desk drawer — or inbox — for eight months, at which time they decided to process it and sent me an email thanking me for it! I emailed them again demanding a refund because their negligence had forced me to seek insurance from another company. Today, july 24, 2020, I finally received an email from ms. Csenar that stated "you no longer have any active policies with liberty mutual." I don't know if that means they have also cancelled the policy on the townhouse that was effective until september 2020 without my authorization! I responded to her asking again, "where is my refund" such an unbelievable lack of service, empathy and professionalism. I guess I should be thankful that she at least this time signed the email? Wow!
Liberty Mutual Insurance - Portion of auto repair estimate denied based on third party opinion
Liberty Mutual would not send their inspector to look at our vehicle based on Liberty's COVID policy. Instead the repair shop was told to send pictures which they did. An estimate was submitted and then work began.
Work was almost completed when Liberty Mutual informed me that they were sending a third party to look at the vehicle. Liberty said that they did not feel that all of the damage in the estimate was caused by the rear end accident.
At this point all that was available for inspection were photos and removed damaged parts. Based on this third party opinion, Liberty paid out just over a third of the original estimate and we had to pay the balance of several thousand dollars.
Our position is that they denied the estimate with no real proof of their claim that some of the damage was not caused during the accident.
Upon complaining to Liberty and suggesting that they pay the full estimate and recover the money by suing the party that caused the accident, I believe Liberty stated that the other party was also insured by them and therefore they could not sue another insurer to recover funds.
Janet Caskey denied our claim.
Village Auto Clinic of Hempstead New York did the estimate ($3710.77) and the repair work.
After the third party hired by Janet Caskey got involved, Liberty only paid out $1366.06
We had to pay $2344.71.2018 BMW 320 IX, rear end accident caused by the other vehicle on May 15 2020 in Freeport New York
