I paid for a 2-night stay online on the hampton inn website. I got confirmation and went to the hotel. They had my reservation in the system but did not have my payment. The front desk staff proceeded to bill my card on file without saying anything and the only reason I knew was that I checked my bank account. I got charged and was told to see the manager at 2 pm when she arrived. I went to the desk at 2 and the manager was rude about it. She looked at my confirmation and said this does not prove payment, so I showed her my bank charges and who they were to, how much, etc. She assumed I booked through a secondary site such as hotels.com. I informed her it was through the hampton website. She must have found it and said it was all set then told me the other money charged will be back in my account in a few days. This is very inconvenient when you are on a budget and now have to wait for money to be returned to you. I do not understand how you can possibly pay the hotel and it does not show up on their end that you have paid in full. When checking out I had to reconfirm that the managr said it was all set and the bill should not show repayment.
