Nigel stuffed all of my groceries into one plastic bag (Eggs, bread, meat and fruit). I asked for another bag and he shoved my bag in to another and did not line-up the handles which would make the bag difficult to carry. I asked him to line up the handles. He handed the bag to me without the handles lined up, insisting the bag could be carried. I insisted he line the handles up. He then yanked the bag out of the second bag and shoved it into a new bag, thereby punching a hole in both bags. He should have rearranged the groceries to fit into two bags because the one bag was stuffed and heavy.
I felt Nigel was rude (unfriendly), argumentative (insisting that I accept the bag with the mangled handles) and thoughtless (disregarding my benign request for another bag to support the original stuffed and heavy bag).
Perhaps Nigel was having a bad day. If that was the case, customers who are mostly seniors should not have to suffer for it.
Desired outcome: Nigel should be reprimanded and re-trained about customer service and politeness when simple requests are asked of him.
