Meijer - Alcohol purchase

I went to shop for a few items at the Meijer located in Auburn Hills (800 Brown Rd), around 10:00pm, within the items I picked up Last Call Triple Sec and two bottles of Barefoot Fruitscato wines. I went through self check out and when I scanned the first item, a store associate came over to “verify my age” I searched my purse and I did not have my drivers license present but I did have a photo of my license front & back in my phone, they refused to sell me the alcohol. I purchased the other items and left because I knew my driver’s license was at home, left in another purse, I forgot to swap everything out when I switched purses. I went to my car and realized I had my license that just expired in Feb 2023, since they needed to see a physical ID to confirm my age, this should have been enough to suffice. But instead of confirming my age they still refused to sell me the alcohol because the license was not deemed valid. I asked to speak with a manager and he said they could lose their liquor license if they sold me the items and they found out later that I was underage. I said it’s either you need to verify my age, which is 29, or you need to verify something else. I never had this issue at any Meijer. Meijer associates have the option to enter the DOB as the computer has “DOB Entry” option on it during check out. My license being expired does not change the fact that I am of legal age to purchase alcohol. This store definitely lost a loyal customer. I had proof of my DOB for them to verify that I was old enough to purchase the items and they still refused. That will be the last time I shop at their location. That was totally uncalled for. They were going to make me drive all the way back home just to get the renewed license which had the exact same picture and of course the same DOB.

Desired outcome: I would have liked to have been able to purchase my items hassle free, my expired license with my DOB should have been enough to verify my age.

Meijer - Meijer gas station Auburn Hills

I was making a call in my car and noticed many very young guys coming out of meijer gas station Auburn Hills with cans of twisted tea. I thought was strange. As I went in to purchase a gallon of milk and lotto at 1130 am. 7-30-21 11am. The youngster ahead of me had as many cans of twisted tea he could hold. When the kid walked out I asked the clerk if that was alcohol. He said I think so. I asked if he should card them? and he just laughed. Hmm

Desired outcome: Please card under 21 meijer gas in Aubern Hilla

Meijer - service

Stopped at Meijer to pick up a few beers for the super bowl, employee named Kristie had a attitude while asking for my ID which I had ready in my hand. she rips my ID out of my hand then throws it back at me instead of handing it back. So I used my debit card and was about to get money back OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. She makes a decision about my bank account and cancelled the option. I Needed the money for a co pay for a medicine for my 6 year old by the way. So I asked for a general manager which she asked if I wanted to wait for her to open another register to get money out, would cost me another charge on my debit account. I was upset and told the manager she should write her up. I would like to see something be done about the actions of this employee. Mr.McKervey

Meijer - The cashiers don't like working with black and brown community

I recently filed a complaint with meijer co. Regarding a gas station attendant in auburn hills mi. On brown rd.. This attendant doesn't like his job.. He doesn't looking, speaking or like touching black and brown people in the community.. I witnessed that first hand.. I touch this attendant and watched him go to the back and wash his hands as if I was contaminated with black like my blackness was going to rub off on him.. Took my concerns straight to meijer corporation, which transferred me to that local store management an the store failed me.. Heads up meijer no one should have to take a classes on how to be a good human.. But since this is what you do as a company, there's clearly a problem.. What I can't understand is why meijer corporation is entertaining this type of discrimination and racism.. Plus he's doing a job he clearly doesn't want.. On top of that, I have food safety concerns now, is this attended goin to do something to the food all because he feels some type of way towards a certain type of people or race 🤔.. These are questions and concerns that no customer should have to deal with.. You can do better then this meijer

So I recently complain to the Meijer Corporation about their gas station located in Auburn Hills Michigan on Brown Road... a male attendant in this station is so disrespectful this is the second time I've made this complaint regarding this attendant and Meijer's told me that they were going to offer him a class on how to interact with black and brown people 🤔 (BS)... #BoycottMeijer
