Sun Communities - complaint is about the new manager and the maintenance man took my car!

On the last week of August my car was towed from Sterling Heights Rudgate Manors parking lot per Rudgate Manors Request after the Manager told me because there maintenance man put a violation on my door for parking in front of my home to park it there for as long as needed because my husband and I are members of Sterling Heights Rudgate Manor's Community and all Rudgate manor members who to park a vehicle in Rudgate Manor parking lot have that option, that right. He then assured me that it would in fact be safe and I had nothing to worry about, when I seen my vehicle was missing from the parking lot I went in and asked the woman at the desk where is my car, she said it had been towed the week before... I asked why? Her response was that Rudgate Manor was having a picnic that weekend and they did not want it there. I explained that the manager did not make me aware my vehicle would eventually need to be moved that day or that weekend for that matter and that he in fact did inform me that as a Rudgate Manor member my vehicle would be safe in that parking lot for as long as needed, I asked her then what Rudgate Manor is willing to do about this matter, she then picked up the phone dialed a number, spoke briefly explaining to a person on the other end that the man whose vehicle they had towed would like to speak to you... ( I did not ask to speak to any person but the Manager so when she handed the telephone to me I assumed it was the manager she was calling on my behalf but apparently it was her Boyfriend the maintenance man "Tom" I believe. Well I informed Mr. Maintenance man of my assurance from Rudgate Manors manager and asked what is he going to do about this matter and his response was " Yeah that manager was fired, I said but what about my my vehicle sir, you had my vehicle removed from a space it was entitled too for personal reason, His response was " Sorry" I replied your sorry that's it? I was very cordial explaining to Mr. Maintenance man this was not A personal favor this manager was doing for me this was Rudgate Manors policy to their patrons that my vehicle had the right to be parked here and Nowhere on Rudgate Manors policy does it say that on The particular day you had my vehicle removed will I have to remove it or risk being towed nor does it announce that this year I will have to remove it on any particular day for a picnic and it certainly doesn't say my vehicle will be towed if Mr. maintenance man decides he doesn't want it there that day. I was told "Sorry "
In a cocky way by a maintenance man who is making up his own rules for Rudgate Manor an then hung up on. Two weeks after speaking to maintenance man on the phone regarding his tow of my vehicle, he put another violation on my door for putting my garbage out one day early, two weeks after that this man sees me in my driveway changing my daughters car tire the next morning on my door is a violation for Vehicle Maintenance in my own driveway, apparently I'm not supposed to do that either and if i didn't know better I'm starting to think that Mr & Mrs. manager are bullying me and My family violation after violation with a new rule trying to intimidate us and make us want to move, have to move or be forced to move. Now I have stewed over my vehicle since that very day on what to do as my family suffers this huge loss of $3500- $5000 from Rudgate Manors Maintenance mans decision to tow our vehicle. I realize as a patron of Rudgate Manor but as a person period and an American citizen I have the right to expect consequences where due and fight for myself when I'm forced to suffer a loss I did not deserve... I hope that my will in writing this letter reaches Rudgate Manors Corporate Authority as my situation is urgent and is in need of an immediate resolution. I live on a fixed income and could not afford to pay the impound fees and tow fees to bring my vehicle back to Rudgate Manor parking lot and the woman at the desk whom I found out is the new manager chose to not only not take responsibility or handle the situation properly but she handed the entire responsibility of dealing with me to Mr. Maintenance man who she implied was in control of this situation and not only did he refuse to take responsibility for his actions he acted as if this was my fault that my vehicle was parked there so it was purely my problem and in no way should Rudgate Manor be responsible for there employees ill decision making. I'd like to believe that Rudgate Manor does not truly feel this way nor agree with the way your Employees handled this situation that they took upon themselves to create but I do hope to hear from someone soon please thank you, Jeffrey Bjorn [protected]
