Scotts.com - terrible service

We are thoroughly dissatisfied with the services rendered by Scotts Lawn Service in St. Louis, Missouri. I will grant, up front, that the last two years have been challenging years for lawns and gardens. That said, I have never had worse service from a lawn care company that I did with Scotts. Treatments were applied late, requests for treatments took 3-4 weeks after reminder calls, and some treatments were applied during heat conditions that are not recommended. The funny thing was we had a customer satisfaction representative from Scotts come by and he not only agreed with our problems but also told us how Scott's is "try to get better... and that our lawn was the worst he'd seen yet." My advice to others is 1) Don't use Scotts Lawn Service" and 2) if you must try them for yourselves, do not prepay the service. You might find you'd like to fire them by June.

Very dissappointed with them and will be discontinuing as soon as our prepayment is finished. Terrible experience.

Do NOT use this lawn service! You'll regret it!

A Scotts sales rep (Mark) knocked on my door (unsolicited )to pitch Scotts Lawn Service. I agreed having Scotts treat my lawn every 4-6 weeks at 46.00 a treatment which included the front back and side yards. I PERSONALLY walked the sales rep around the perimeter of the property so he was WELL aware of the area agreed to be treated on the service agreement. I asked Mark (sales rep) how Scotts could treat my entire yard for 46.00 per treatment, his response "we can lower the rates of treatments because we've canvased for and gained enough business in the Seymour area to do so."

I signed up, the service technician showed up TWO weeks after, treated the lawn and DID NOT leave an invoice. I spoke with someone in the Knoxville office named Paul who stated that the service technician didn't leave an invoice because the square footage was WRONG on the service agreement. Paul insisted that the square footage was an "error" and to treat my yard in the future would be double. I suggested to Paul that this was deceiving and poor business practices. He insisted it was a mistake. It's NO MISTAKE... it's called bait and switch.

If a Scotts Lawn Service Rep comes knocking at your door you're going to get RIPPED OFF!

I have had the same problems with Scott's the last few yrs. They were a good company the first few yrs I had them but gradually became worse. They didn't show up on time or do what they said they would. They would tell me one thing and then not do it so when I called they would always have an excuse. I had full service contract but then they made excuses why they couldn't ex. aerate/seed last fall, told me they would come very early spring didn't show and when I talked to them said it was too late. They still didn;t even come to put down pre-emergent so i called and they said it is too late, so I requested a refund and treated myself. I am now looking for another company but not many in our area. I also started noticing that our lawn was gradually looking the last few yrs. I don't believe they are using the great Scott's brand of products and are giving Scotts a bad reputation.

Scotts Lawn Care Service is very poor

Prior to using Scotts Lawn Care Service, I did my own lawn using the Scotts four step program. I did not have any of the problems that I am now having. I have more weeds and brown spots in my lawn than I have every had. I do not believe that Scotts Lawn Service is using Scotts products. I don't think that I would be seeing the problems that I am now seeing if they were using the proper products. I hope someone from the Scotts Lawn Care Service corporate office will look into this. It gives the Scott name a bad rep. Also I made the mistake of prepaying for this service to save money. I will not be using this service anymore. I am very particular about how my lawn looks and right down it is not looking its' best.
