When I purchased this policy I was told only a 65 service fee when a tech had to be called out and it would be less that a couple of hours for a tech to be at our home. I filed a claim because our heat went out 2 days. Then we had to call them and the next day a tech came from Greenwood SC. 2 hours away from our home. The tech said the motor has gone out I cannot find a motor your unit is 48 years old. They warranty company said they will repair it not replace the unit. The company they sent out was unable to locate a part. The Home Choice Warranty people ordered a part and it was wrong, so home choice ordered another motor 4/5 days out the company fixed the issue. I had 2 other heating and air people also the one they sent and all 3 companies have said it is not worth repairing you are looking at a 500 repair vs replacing the 48 yr old unit. I called the company and argued complained after two days I talked to a supervisor Deanna and She said we are not replacing your unit. I said may I speak to one of the tech's on the board that made this decision on repairing and not replacing my unit and she said NO you cannot and will not be able to speak to a tech. We are not replacing your unit period. I was told at the start from the salesman over the phone if the items were to old to fix per if told to them by the company they call out then no questions asked it would be replaced. I had told the salesman from the start I had no idea how old my equipment was. He said doesn't matter you just have to be signed up for 30 before you make a claim on anything. I had the policy almost 1 yr. this company has not complied with what they told me during the verbal conversation and also. The repair or replace is 3000 a yr on policy it says in contract so if I had opted to replace or was offered I would have been happy to pay the difference. But also that Max on repairs or replacing was not ever told to me over the verbal conversation. With this policy you have to sign up and then you get your contract. I requested a contract to review and I was told that is t how it worked you sign up and I email you your contract. It was rated as one of the top 10 warranty companies on Angie's list and others. So I figured I was good. But was I fooled. They have to be stopped from ripping people off. I filed a complaint to my insurance commission board and contacted 2 state reps in my area of SC. They said they could not help me. So where do I get help? Who will take action to help hard working Americans that need that coverage bc we live pay check to pay check?
Desired outcome: My unit replaced or my money back for all of the payments I made in this faulty contract and this company held accountable for their actions!!
