We purchased a Filippo Power reclining sofa an loveseat from store in Farmingdale NY on 2/16/19. We took delivery 4 weeks later in mid March. After about two months the recliner started making noise when reclining and returning to sitting position. It seems the two sections are to close together and rubbing as you recline and unrecline. It got progressively louder and louder.
We purchased a service contract which we were told covered everything for 5 years. But after we tried to file a claim, we were told that structural and mechanical issues were not covered.
We returned to the store in early September and complained to Store Manager Scott B. He advised he would contact manufacturer and they would contact us. On 9/21/19 service technician (and owner) Barry R Pape from BP Furniture Service came to review the issue. He did a cursory review (approx 15 minutes) and basically advised us there was nothing he could do and we had to "live with" the problem. He did say he would stop by the store and see if he could do anything. HE NEVER WENT TO THE STORE.
We went back to the store 10/3/19 and spoke with Scott B again. He read the report the technician filed (a report we were never given a copy of) which said the love seat met all industry standards. I asked Scott if industry standards are for the love seat to make noise then it should be doing that on the floor model so the consumer could make a conscious decision whether to purchase the furniture if they liked it enough to accept the noise.
He said he would contact the stores Service Manager and try to get a resolution.. On 10/10 he advised the Service Manager sand there was nothing they were willing to do to resolve the problem.
The store REFUSES TO STAND BY THE PRODUCTS THEY SELL.
We would like this issue resolved. We are willing to keep the love seat if it can be repaired, or will accept compensation in the form of an exchange for a new love seat or return both pieces for a store credit to purchase a different sofa an love seat.
For the record we have posted our displeasure with this store and manager on face book, filed a complaint with the better business bureau and also filed a complaint with Linda Baquaro from channel 4 news.

The worst shopping experience ever. They lie about delivery dates, warranties etc. I WAS NEVER TOLD OF MISSING PARTS UNTIL THEY WERE ABOUT TO DELIVER MY ORDER. They just want your money. Absolutely no customer service. They never answer the phone and getting in touch is a nightmare. On top of it all their salesman are trained to say anything to get a sale and are indeed very stupid. Save your money and shop elsewhere. They just lie and do not care. I can go on and on
