Nikon - Camera replacement

I sent in my D5600 to be repaired, the SD card slot was damaged. Nikon fixed it and sent it back, but it was delivered to the wrong address by UPS. After a month, UPS concluded their investigation admitting they were at fault for losing it. Nikon said they would send a replacement. I've spoken to 3 different reps since September 21. The only information I've ever been given is that, "It's been escalated to the highest person". On October 2, a rep contacted me via email to confirm my shipping address. I haven't received anything from Nikon since.

Needless to say... I still don't have my camera, I've missed 4 photography gigs as a result, and I'm currently out of $1400. I'm a small business owner and I'm missing out on opportunities to make money because I don 't have my camera. I've done everything that's been requested of me, but my issue has yet to be resolved by Nikon. I am extremely upset.

Nikon - poor service/repair support

The service that I've received from the Nikon repair department is absolutely pathetic. I purchased a Nikon S710 camera in Sept '08 and was only able to use it briefly (about 45 days) before the first defect. The camera kept displaying a lens error that prevented it from being used. I contacted the Nikon Service department and was told to send the camera in for repair and that the turnaround is typically 7 - 10 days.

Thirty days later, my camera is still with Nikon on a Parts Hold. The representatives are fairly friendly but not very helpful as they don't seem to have the needed information at their fingertips. It seems that nearly every inquiry has to be emailed to a different department and responses can take up to 48 hours, which is unacceptable for a supposedly cutting edge electronics company. At any rate I am still without my camera and still have no guarantee as to when it will be repaired. I've called over ten times and cannot seem to get have my call escalated to a supervisor. I even called Corporate only to have the operator blindly forward me to a voicemail mailbox. I did receive a timely phone call but still find myself no closer to resolution. Due to the lack of response, I've resulted to a written letter to the CEO of the company in hopes of having the camera replaced.

Nikon has completely lost my faith as a consumer which is sad since I've always been a die-hard Kodak customer and took the leap to Nikon with this last purchase. It's also unfortunate that this is my first experience with the company.

The intent of this complaint is not to sway your purchase decision but to help you make a more informed one. I'm sure that Nikon makes quality products and I understand that electronics do fail however I am extremely let down by the support I've received from the company.

Hi
I think SONY is better than Nikon, recently i had purchased a Nikon S230 insted of a sony W230. I thought Nikon would be better than SONY, but I was wrong the Images from Nikon S230 is very very very bad, the images looks like as if they were taken from a VGA Camera. I complained the same to Nikon they replied back saying that " I dont know how to take photos". The Auto scene selection mode is totally useless. I think we need to go for SONY insted of Nikon, now even sony has come up with DSLR Cameras.

Nikon - nikon don't stand behing its products

We purchased a digital Nikon camera for our son in September for his birthday. Two months later the lens got stucked. We were unable to use the camera. Best Buy, were we bought the camera, was kind enough to print a copy of the receipt and we mailed the camera back to Nikon. They send us a bill to fix the camera for 105.59, the price we paid for the camera. They did not honor the warranty that should be ok for one year.

I advise everyone to never buy a camera from Nikon. It certainly is my last time. There are many brands out there, why settle for one that does not stand by their brand and cannot wait to stick their hands in your pocket three months later...

I sent in my L16 for repairs. Still under warranty! The LCD screen is only showing all white. But still works. First Nikon approved the repair. Then just a day later, they reported water damage at my fault. So, now they want to charge me $117 for the repair. That is MORE than what I paid for the camera NEW, including tax! So, I am now disputing their decision. There is no water damage! I will post back their final decision "soon".

My advice never buy cameras from nikon, they cheat! for a Rs4800 camera they are asking Rs5200. except for LCD the camera is working fine...for people in nikon Dont take customers for ride...
