Securitas - unfair, rude, dishonest and disrespectful treatment from bronx site mgr. james suggs

To who it may concern: My name is James Huntley, I have worked for Securitas for over nineteen years. Up until two and a half years ago, I really enjoyed working for this company. I worked at the same site for over seventeen years and life was swell. Then one day an accusation came out of nowhere that I had left my shift fifteen minutes early. I was sent down to Human Resources. Once there the Human Resources mgr. replied to me that I had made asexual suggested message to an client and to this day still can't figure out where that came from and about the accusation of me leaving fifteen minutes early, all they had to do was check the video camera that was positioned right by the door. They did not and I was sent to the Bronx mgr. James Suggs to be stationed at a new site paying three dollars less an hour than I was making at the time. I also had my three weeks vacation a year taken away. I worked almost twenty years earning that vacation pay and it was taken away at the drop of a dime over false allegations that were made against me and never founded.Mr. James Suggs has threatened me with insubordination wherever I would question him on company policy or to get time off for family emergencies. On one occasion my wife's mother had passed and I asked Mr. Suggs for more than the three days that were allowed per company guidelines being that the funeral was held out of state. He threatened me with insubordination if l wasn't back in three days. So I went over his head and received the days that I needed to comfort my wife. Ever since I have had nothing but grief from Mr. Suggs. He also refused to grant me a day off for over a year even though I had time accumulated. Every time I would put in for time off he would reject it thus forcing me to call out which then put me in Dutch with the Human Resources Manager who then called me into her office. She had me sign papers stating that if I called out or took another day off I would be terminated on the spot. This was just another example of how stressed I was dealing with these two individuals. At this same meeting I was having with the two Managers. Mr. Suggs became irate because and I quote "that I was looking at him with a [protected]@#K you face", he was very loud and abusive. The Human Resources manager just sat there shook her head and said absolutely nothing! At this point I was fed up left. I returned to work but heart and mind just was not into it.It was a constant battle just to walk through the doors much less work. I was terribly depressed being that I had no allies at Securitas. I then contracted Cov-19 so self quarantined three weeks.Started feeling better and went back to work. When I got back to work at the nursing home where I worked, half the staff and most of all the residents were not wearing protective masks. At that point I asked for a transfer. Mr.Suggs called me in and said he would find me another day time shift at another site.It took about two weeks but this I really didn't mind. I left my old site in the middle of May 2020, and waited until the first week of June 2020, when I was presented with a security job proposal at Mercy College campus in the Bronx. I was offered a 7am-3pm(Mon-Fri) shift that I immediately accepted. I was very pleased! I went down to the Securitas offices in Manhattan during the height of the pandemic and signed off on the new job site at Mercy College. After another two weeks I was informed that the College was closed due to the pandemic. Mr.Suggs had me sign papers knowing all along that the campus was closed. Mr.Suggs then sent me a text saying that there was going to be a new manager there at the end of June 2020. So being that I signed off on the position at the College, I figured Mr.Suggs would appropriately notify the new manager of my intentions to work there but he never did.So as of now I have not worked at any site since May 2020. Mr.Suggs had let me down once again. I feel he should be reprimanded for all that he has done to me. I'm sure he has done this before to other employees. I want my six weeks vacation (3 weeks for each year ) Totaling TWO YEARS that I didn't receive any! Please help in any way possible! This all happened in a span of Two years from 2/2018-5/20. Thank you in advance, Sincerely James Huntley

Securitas - missing pay, new hires, supervision

There are some serious issues with a Securitas office in Manhattan on Broadway.
The office in New York, Manhattan may need investigation of its practices.
Wages not paid to workers, incompetent scheduling personnel, possible racism and preferential treatment given to whites/hispanics, lack of 40 hour week for many officers, no holiday pay or overtime, straight time for holidays, no backup of officers when clients complain, disregard of client directives by management.
How some in management/scheduling obtained their positions and maintain them despite client complaints needs investigation .
New hires may get position as regular guard over some Flex Officers with more time on job/site which may be due to favoritism, inside contact, racism, paying for position, etc.
Giving special attention to individuals who served in the military is alright as far as hiring is concerned but all should have the opportunity for positions of supervision and being in field as inspectors especially being that you will have to be trained anyway by the company for its and clients needs.
People who do not get paid for the work they have done need to contact the IRS, New York State and City Tax authorities so they can look into and go over hiring records and pay and tax deductions, see who was hired then did not get paid, etc.
Labor Department needs to take a good look too.
Going to company HR is a waste of time being that at the end of the day all company HR employees from the top to bottom have the company name on their paychecks so there is a realistic limit to what they can and are willing to do about many things that may need addressing.
People with issues may need to have them addressed to the offices in Europe so they know there are issues over here.
Maybe they may get results.
Getting present clients to see how management/pay issues can affect the quality of service from the guards at their site may get some assistance from the client who may threaten to cancel contracts and this in turn can cause problems for future contacts with other clients who find out about issues concerning the company.
Businesses do not want to have security on their sites bearing the name of some security company that has been found to deal badly with its officers.
Businesses have reputations and images to project and protect and do not want the public associating them with some company that deals poorly with its workers.
Go to some security company sites and you can find a listing of the clients that they serve. What client wants to have its name associated with having dealings with a problem security company.
It will say a lot about them to the clients they deal with.
Securitas like any company has profit as its bottom line and they do not want anyone or anything to inferfere with it.
If problem management is going to cause their bottom line to drop out from under them they better do something to address the matter.
Playing musical chairs, moving problem management around will not solve the problem.
Complete replacement with quality competent people is in order.
Set standards and time periods one must be on the job before one can become a full time officer not giving full time positions to persons with a few months or weeks on the job over long time experienced personnel in Flex positions.
Placing links for goverment sits that may be able to help those with pay/labor issues.

Get out of contract security. They are all the same. I worked for Securitas over 6 yrs and made it only to 11.50 an hour despite having and excellent work and attendance record. They attempted to screw me by reducing my vacation pay and trying to take my medical benefits away. They don't respect seniority. I tried hard for 3 years to leave but other jobs were paying the same. I went to college and fire safety director school. Now I'm doing inhouse security at a NYC hotel for $33 an hour with full union benefits.

As I have worked for them in the past. Had I known what they did I wouldn't have. Worked for some time. Moved to a better job. Left in good terms. went back for part time work. found out they will not rehire for any reason. stay away, run fast. Just go else where. plus your letter I have witnessed all of these practices.
So few good Security Companies out their.
