I am writing to complain about the lack of commitment to members from Crunch Fitness in Gresham, OR. I have been a member for several years and it seems like half of my time is spent in disappointment at the quality of care the equipment receives. I have used 5 different stair machines that were broken and unsafe at the time of use, but not "out of order." I used one such machine yesterday where the chain/stair slipped about three times every 30 seconds. Several months back I used one that automatically increased in speed rapidly without me giving it direction. Fortunately, I was able to jump off the machine and manually stop it.
The water fountain is another matter of contention. There is one in the entire facility, which means all patrons use it. Therefore, the filter needs to be replaced often. Unfortunately, it does not appear that the management at that site proactively accounts for that so there are times the filter goes without repair for several weeks at a time. During the warmer months of spring and into summer the fountain was completely broken. Yet, Crunch did not provide any other way to get water to their members. It was absolutely RIDICULOUS! Even after complaining, no one did a thing. I stopped going to the gym for several months because it was so frustrating.
I will be canceling my membership and going with a competitor if the basic maintenance of the gym is not taken care routinely. I am attaching a photo and video of the stair machines that are in disrepair.
