Motel 6 - owner

My name is adam tucker. I stayed in room 136 the "jacuzzi room" call in only to reserve cost $20 extra at motel 6 mall 205, portland or on 12/8/2018. I moved the mini fridge around 6:30pm to plug in my phone the fridge was pushed up against the plug in the wall and found hypodermic needle and a condom under the fridge. I immediately walked to the office and there was multiple customers inside. I didn't go "dont stay here there's needles look" no I politely waited and then showed the desk clerk without ever saying a word about needles I could of freaked up and they would of lost business. He said sorry and offered to move rooms I said no it's ok please just take the needle and get rid of it cuz I dont have gloves it was removed and most likely just tossed in the trash outside that's what the night shift dude did with the other one which is not proper disposal. So fabian "front desk guy" said you stay at motel 6 alotbl I said yes we were here last weekend and he said just say my name fabian i'll write it down and you'll get a discount next time. So we said ok we are loyal customers. That was done. The next morning at 5:30am we shower and my girlfriend tossed her bag up on top above the hangers on the shelf and another hypodermic needle without a cover goes flying by her head it hit the wall behind her and bounced back into the closet area. The dirty filter for the heater was up there for some reason and it had the needle on it but you couldn't see them. My girlfriend starts having a panic attack wont sit anywhere in the room she freaks out for literally 2 hours before she finally passes out from anxiety overload. So its 5:30am I immediately goto the office and the night shift work is on his phone and I tell him about the situation and asked for a full refund and he tells me I have to wait till 8-9am to talk to someone who can have input on that. He hates hates his job and mukesh because he gets treated differently then the other workers who get extra privileges as he told my girlfriend last week. That's another issue there I guess but this morning at 8am I go in and tell a different front desk girl what happened she goes are you staying till 11 or leaving I was like i'm staying till I get a refund I wanna talk to the owner but I offered to leave right then if I got a full refund. She said i'll call you after I talk to my boss so a half hour goes by I get a call and I was offered $45 by the owner thru the desk worker. The room cost me $110. I paid cash. So I was like no I wanna speak to the owner what's his number. I'm told she cant give that out and so I offer my cell phone number. Instead I get a call an hour or so later from a "management girl" she works the front desk also on the motel phone. No one would call my cell phone probably so its not recorded. Calls I answer and I tell her what happened with the 2nd needle and how it almost hit my girl in the face and 2 needles is unacceptable and I want a full refund and she offer's me $20 per the owner! And I get loud and say no way that would of went way worse and she potentially could of got a disease and thats a health hazard and for paying $110 I expected the room to be cleaned. So she stands tall $20 is the offer the owner is offering now. The owner who was on site the night before heard about the 1st needle from the worker. Never once did he come and talk to me I never seen him or met him. He lies & tells the girl we were offered a full refund the night before. Which is the biggest lie ever cuz I would of took that refund and left if I was offered it I was offered a discount next time. My girlfriend heard fabian say it. No percentage just a "discount" I have a witness that we were never offered any refund or money back just a room change and a discount next time. So im pissed at this point on the phone due to lack of respect for the customer (me) my voice is raised and im like this is [censored]ed up and we could of been hurt cause someone isnt doing there job and I was lied to about it being clean. She says you can take the $20 so I tell the manager girl i'll just call corporate and file a complaint if I ain't getting a full refund this is the worst customer service ever. "I was yelling cuz I waited 4+ hours to talk to the owner and shes telling me the owner doesnt wanna talk to me and its basically take the $20 or nothing". She then snaps at me "no refund and im calling the cops because your being loud or something & refuse to check out" which is a blanten lie once again. It's only 10am at this time. I calm down in like a second. Try to explain the situation again in the simplest form for the dumbest person alive and how you dont treat customers like this and someone didnt do there job and i'm told the house keeper must of not seen them. I say I want a full refund again. The offer still is $20 on a $110 room. I say how was it $45 earlier then $20. Its $20 i'm told, so I yell again cuz shes stone walling me with [censored] fine i'll call corporate this is [censored] and [censored]ing wrong. She says it's no refund i'm calling the cops since you refuse to check out and hangs up. So I quick wake my girlfriend and yell shes calling the cops cuz i'm gonna goto corporate to complain and the news if I have to.in good faith I go drop one of the keys off at the front desk and say we are leaving just give us a second. I never said I wouldn't check out I offered to at 8am with a full refund. We stayed in that room till 10 am waiting to talk to the owner. Instead i'm told the cops are being called and I dont get to check out at 11am like everyone else who paid except I paid more for my room and it should of been cleaned top to bottom if it's a call in only reservation that no one knows about really. We stayed in the same room last weekend and everything was great. So in a weeks time they were able to collect 2 hypodermic needles and didnt notice them they werent there last weekend I know cuz I moved the fridge also and the heater filter was dirty and I meantioned it needing to be cleaned on the maintenance/housekeeping card last weekend. So someone just tossed it up on the shelf instead of cleaning it and I was told the room was cleaned on the 8th when I called and made the reservation. The owner wouldn't talk to me he was hiding somewhere in the motel complex. We left a cell phone in the room rushing out the room cuz we didnt know if the cops were coming and we didnt do anything wrong and I dont wanna be arrested for someone making false accusations and had to go back and he was still no where to be found the front desk girl wouldn't call for him. It's just the worst customer service i've ever delt with. I will never stay at a motel 6 again because I was made to feel like I was in the wrong when clearly the owner and motel 6 was. I dont know what can be done by you guys but my blood pressure is super high im so stressed out. Who knows how this will effect my girlfriend. Super scary to see that needle fly past her face. Sorry my complaint is so long but the fact I didnt get a refund and the owner hid all morning and wouldn't talk to me like a owner should of at that point. You say corporate complaint and they just call the cops I guess instead of stepping up and doing what's right as a business owner who's #1 goal should be great customer service so people wanna stay there again.

Owners name is mukesh patel. By far the worst motel6 owner-management crew ever! Ive been from ny to portland and have stayed at motel 6 over 100 times and I lost all faith to ever stay there again and that's the worst part cause I love motel 6 always been good to me and this ruined it. I'll never recommend motel 6 again. The most stressful day of my life and i've had stressful days before.

I feel this wrong can be righted with a full refund. I wish motel 6 could prove to me that this was one bad apple on the tree and motel 6 is the place I love. I aint asking for anything free. I paid last week and had no problem. I hope one day I can stay at a different motel 6 and be wowed again.

Ps: some customer service classes for the owner cuz in his mind from what I experienced he just doesnt care about the product or service that is motel 6.

Small note: fabian front desk guy. Great worker very helpful that's someone who should be running a motel 6.

I totally "feel your pain". You should read my post about my Motel 6 horror story. I agree that the employees in general need multiple customer service refresher courses!

Side note...I DID end up receiving a refund, but only after calling and calling and calling and complaining and not letting it go. I suggest you try the same tactic, which is persistence, because neither you nor your girlfriend were in the wrong in any shape or form. This includes you raising your voice and using profanity. You are human, not a robot, and if they were good at their jobs they would be able to handle it professionally and diffuse the situation in a timely manner instead of getting revenge for your complaints by calling the police on you for something you did not do. Note to Motel 6...using profanity, voicing a complaint, and raising your voice is not breaking any laws nor does it warrant you "evicting" a customer who had been a loyal patron many times over. I hope all this negative attention was worth the profit you made on renting a sub-standard room and threatening a customer with legal action for doing nothing other than would was the right thing to do. No one should have to put up with hypodermic needles as roommates. FYI, on average, customers talk to approximately 1 family member/friend/neighbor/co-worker about a satisfactory experience after renting a motel room; however, on average, a customer will mention an UNSATISFACTORY experience to approximately 6 family members/friends/neighbors/co-workers. So you potentially lose 10 good customers just by treating ONE customer in a disrespectful and distasteful manner.
