We went to Sheetz at 1701 7th ave at 2:29pm on New Year's Day 01/01/2020. My husband and I had got off at 1pm and 1:30pm. We had to get our 2 children something to eat because of both of us working we could not make a New Years dinner. The children reminded us of the free hit chocolate on New Year's Day that we are very thankful for. We decided to walk to Sheetz and get the the family and children got chocolate. Our car is in the shop due to a are accident. We looked at the temp and it was 34 Degrees out and at it being about a 25 minute walk to sheetz the kids decided to stay at home that we decided to be a good idea we school starting again tomorrow. The last thing we want was sick children. So my husband and I bundled up and made our way down to Sheetz talking about our day. We got to Sheetz and order our hot dogs and a bukect of fries, grabbed four 2 litters, a $25 Xbox gift card card and our 4 free hot chocolates that we are very grateful Sheetz does on New year's. Keep in mind we have to carry this back with just the 2 of us on about a 25 minute, cold walk. There was no carriers out for coffees and I figured I would ask the lady in MTO for one that happened to be the manager. She replied "we can't give those out on free days bc you people take advantage of the free coffee". I explain very nicely to the manager that we just walked 25 min and have all these I these items to carry back and have to walk 25 minutes if we could please just have one that as she can see my husband and I could carry ours and it's only for my 2 children's at home and she can see we are not and would not take advantage of Sheetz very kind gesture. She simple replied "I believe I just told u that I will not give you one". I said please I just spent $50 In ur store please, we had also got our ciggerettes, that we go everyday and purchase with our foundation drink. She said " here is a bag that's all I will do" and handed me a paper MTO bag. I said please I see them sitting them right on top of your specialty drink machine behind the counter. She didn't reply at all just took them off and walked through the door to the back of the store with them. I put my child's hot chocolates in the paper MTO bag and asked if I could have my MTO order behind the counter. The kid at the register, he didn't ring me up, the one beside him did, said u have to pay for it first. I have been coming to Sheetz since I was a child and now I'm now 34, I know it needs paid for before they put it out. I said it was paid for that I have the gentleman bedside him the order paper. He was arguing with me saying it wasn't paid for. The kids that rang me up said it was paid for and they have been having problems with orders not coming up paid for when they have been all afternoon. They continued aruging for a little while I stood there with my husband and I holding 4 2liters, a fountain drink, 2 hot chocolates, 2 more hot chocolates in a paper bag, a 25$ Xbox gift card, and a pack of cigarettes. The kid that rang us up got tired of aruging and walked away. The other kids said I need ur food ticket so they can they can ring me up to pay. I said so ur making me pay again, he said u never paid the first time, I said I know I did and the kind said they have had trouble with it coming up paid all day. He said do u want your food or not. I was so frustrated and just wanted to start walking home to feed my kids that I paid again. We got about out of the parking lot and the paper bag she made me use because she wouldn't give me a cup carrier ripped and very very hot chocolate went all down my leg of my pants into my shoes. I had to throw off my shoe it was so hot and my pants had it soaked onto my pants on my leg but I couldnt rip them off bc I was outside, I was crying and screaming it was so hot. I had 2 for the 2 litters rolling across the road, the hot dogs and fries everywhere. My husband took his sweatshirt off trying to soak some of the 2 hot chocolates off me. He got my shoe and our 2 litters and we made our way home while I'm covered in hot chocolate, in pain, my pants and shoe was soaking wet in hot chocolate. We get home and my children felt horrible about what happened and understood and the hot chocolate. The worst part is my husband went to get in his hoodie and give the kids the $25 Xbox gift card they where waiting for with the hotdogs, fries and hot chocolate they didn't get bc of this and it fell out of his hoodie while trying to get the scolding hot chocolate off of my leg and shoe. The ciggerettes we got that where in the hoodie where also gone. So now I'm sitting hear on new year's day bawling all bc this started with a manager not giving me a cup carrier for hot chocolate but instead a paper bag. So now I'm out over $50, a soar leg, no dinner, no ciggerettes and very disappointed children bc of the gift card. This could have all been prevented with a coffee carrier. Why risk burning me over it, I don't get it Sheetz. Why would she not just give me a carrier to prevent this. It terminal 34 approval number 901831 on the first receipt and when they made me pay or my order again it's terminal 34 approval 901831 it's 474 and 452 on the receipt. It's store 1701 7th Ave Altoona PA 16602 again also. I don't know where else to go with this if something isn't done about this but I will be sure to find out considering I'm out over $50 because of this plus pants and shoes
