I purchased a car battery back in August of this year and it has a 3 year replacement warranty
Well today 10/26/19 i took this car battery back to the SAMS Club that I purchased it at with the receipt, and was refused replacement.
First of all the employee that was working the counter was very unprofessional and slouchy looking (shirt untucked, plants sagging)
I explained to him that the battery has a dead cell, so I'm using the warranty to replace the battery . He said "well it ain't like that" "I got to hook it up to the machine before that can happen, and the machine will tell me what's wrong with it" then He said " It''ll be bout an hour or so"
I said to him that I'm not going to wait, because I know it's bad. He interrupts me and says "that's just the way it is".
I said to him that I want to speak with his manager. He then gets on his radio. A couple of mins later this guy comes up and this employee tells this Mgr (Luis) is his name what's going on and this Mgr tells me that I'll have to wait till the computer tells them what's wrong with the battery, and then tells me that Ive got an attitude problem. I informed him, that the employee has an attitude and the the way he's dressed isn't professionally. The employee started to laugh and shake his head at me. I'd told them both that the battery is under warranty again; they refused again, I told them to give me my money back and I'll go and get another battery from somewhere else, and I'll register a complaint with corporate. Luis spoke to me and said "you'd can't do that!' I told him that i could and I will and furthermore he couldn't tell me what I could do or can't do.
Well the employee then tells me to find another mgr and he'll give me my money back, Id told him no I'm not leaving till I get my battery or my money. So then Luis gets on his radio and asked for the store mgr Mike.
Mike comes to the counter and all three huddle together for a couple of minutes, then he comes up to me and says "well you have to understand we have policies on testing batteries that we have to follow and I'll have to come back". I told him that i've been there for an hour already and I've haven't got my replacement battery yet. He'd then told me that hes going to give me my money back, I said fine.
Well he'd just stood there in the same place, not moved one inch. I said to him " is this going to be today?" he looked at me and told me to leave and not come back. I'd told him that I would leave as soon as I get my money back. Then he'd looked at me again and said "you need to leave this store and never come back ever.
Now this whole thing could and should've been handled differently, and furthermore that store Mgr MIKE cannot kick people out of the store when you have to pay for a membership
