Hello, I am a great customer that comes in your establishment 2 to 3 times a month with my family of 5. When I do come to Texas Roadhouse, I bring family, friends and church members. I also spend well over 125.00 each time I am present in Texas Roadhouse. You all are my favorite restaurant to eat at. Since COVID-19 you all are the only restaurant I do trust. My money is well spent in your establishment from the food to the person who waits on us. My BIGGEST problem that I had experienced was on yesterday 12/01/2020 around 7:30 pm. When my family of 5 and I was seated at a 6-person booth, I asked could I get a table that sits 6. Mind you that I am a 330-pound woman and a booth will not suit me at all because of feeling crammed packed and elbow to elbow. Also, my daughters are both heavy as well. Space is much needed with my family when eating.
I asked the manager (Caucasian lady/ long brown hair and I think her name is Sherry) with a red shirt on "could my family and I get the 4-person table and the 4-person booth since they were right next to each other and since no one else were close eating in that area. I do understand about social distancing but there were no one sitting at these table or close to these tables. Every time I enter this establishment, I never have a problem like this, and I'm always granted of what I want. A waitress said that I could pull up a chair at the end of the table. Why? With everyone already looking at me (feeling very uncomfortable and embarrassing) and why would I want to feel like an overweight odd ball and pull up a chair at the end of the table? As we sat at the 6-person booth we were all crammed and packed because like I said my family are hefty as well. As we are eating our good rolls and ordering our food, my claustrophobia started to rare up. I cannot be closed and crammed in a tight place and that's why I asked for a table. At this point I'm very disturbed and upset that the manager (Caucasian lady/ long brown hair) red shirt seems to notice that I'm not happy, so she just looks and walks on by. I am a manager of 20 years' experience of food service with a ServSafe certification and with a Business Degree in Management and I do know what it takes to keep a customer happy.
A family of 7 had finished their dinner and left, so I asked, "if we could have that table?" It was no problem and I was feeling a little better. While waiting on our food, the manager (Caucasian lady/ long brown hair) red shirt came over 30 minutes later apologizing for the seating. We accepted her apology and I felt better. I felt that she could have done a better judgement as a manager. I do understand that some workplaces can be stressful at times. A manger duty in a restaurant level is to make sure that their customers are all satisfied to perfection, if they want their customers to return. The saying is "customers are always right" but, customers are sometimes right in my opinion. I felt that I was right as a customer, who comes in your establishment and spend money the way I do, should sit wherever they want to sit, but that didn't happen. I received my food and I was feeling better every time the night went on.
I love Texas Roadhouse from the bottom of my heart! The waiter we had was AWESOME! I just hope no one comes into this restaurant feeling the way that I did because it's so uncomfortable. Now since this incident, I have had a hard time sleeping, tossing and turning through the night and my body is still feeling some type of way. Taking medicine to ease this feeling is hard sometimes. Claustrophobia sucks! The motive of this letter is to please retrain your manager because you never know what a customer health issues are and what they deal with daily.
Thanks,
Nicole Abernathy
