Took 2 propane tanks in for refill in denton, tx location yesterday just before 9:00 a.M. I live in my rv and my central heater runs off propane. It also warms my water pipes that run thru lower storage compartments. Stove is serviced by propane.
Tried calling office numerous times and put on a "waiting list" in cue. Then I chose to have them call me back without losing my position in cue. Later that day, received a call asking if I had gotten my needs taken care of. Told her no and she seemed concerned. Told her i'm glad I didn't wait on the phone b/c that was like 5+ hours ago! So she transferred me "straight" to the denton office where I was greeted with a recorded message stating I was still having to wait in cue! No customer service with this company!
Next day, this morning, I received a call from the denton office telling me my tanks were ready to be picked up.
When dropping off tanks, there was a waiting line. Tanks would not be ready until today; they would call. Nothing was said about if customers want their tanks back, it will be cash only; nothing! Have used ferrellgas for my propane needs over the years and always written a check with zero problem!
Having no propane, I had to stay at a sister's house for heat. So I left this morning to go to the denton location and pick up my propane.
[note: denton has been having electrical rolling blackouts and this morning, were told that we now have a city boiling water notice due to contaminated drinking water. Streets are snow & ice covered and dangerous to be on.]
After driving extra miles and navigating dangerous icy road conditions, I tried to pick up my propane and write my usual and customary check for the refill. Then, the only guy there told me that it was cash only or I could not have my tanks back! Told him I did not have the $48 in cash as I have never been forced to pay cash before. His reply was he didn't care how I had paid before, that it was cash only and to go out and find cash somewhere! Otherwise, he could care less if I got my tanks back or not! This sent up red flags and reeked of employee financial theft!
So I had to go home to my rv with no propane central heat and no way to boil water for personal safety per denton, tx instructions! Again, there was no warning of payment policy change anywhere in conversation or via displayed signs! Ferrellgas has both knowingly and intentionally placed this customer's health, life, and safety in intentional harm for cash only! And no telling how many other customers.
Now I have no propane heat nor safety mechanisms to make my water safe for drinking and washing dishes for at least, a couple of days. And, there seems to be no way to contact customer service for assistance. Nothing but dead ends. Have to now wonder if ferrellgas is becoming financially insolvent?
In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable service! Photos reserved in case anyone gets hurt and I can assist them, if need be.
Desired outcome: To MINIMIZE MY Risk, Ferrellgas drive my tanks TO ME! Should be No Charge, but I will still write my check for the amount. THIS TIME, YOU take the Risk on the Icy Roads!!!
