Below is the outcome from claim adjuster (Muriet Turner) of denying a pipe bursting claim:
Heat was not maintained, and the water source was not turned off until returning home December 25, 2022.
Please see below what did happen during the freeze: (Letter sent to claim adjuster) on 1/6/2023 and have not been able to speak with a Supervisor as keep requesting when you call. Keep re-routing to same adjuster's voice message.
I, Sheritta Vance for (Cherry Myers) is filing an appeal/complaint for the denial of the claim number listed above. The reason being is that I was not giving the opportunity to explain the entire description of what the original claim entitled. Being told basically that there was no heat maintained and house was left unattended at time of pipes bursting was not an neglect on my part as the homeowner's daughter or as the homeowner. Please see the description below of what measurements were taken in consideration for pre measurements of knowing or not knowing if there would be harm to the house.
1. Regarding maintaining heat, the house has gas and to leave on gas in a house is very dangerous for an explosion, etc.
2. The cabinets were left opened as instructed by the weather reporters
3. The distance where Cherry Myers was relocated to during the freeze was not far in miles. FYI: Cherry Myers does have dementia and as her daughter we did remove her from her home during the Christmas weekend. There was no unreasonable care for the home as stated.
4. Water was not required to be left running per the weather reporters
5. Additional descriptive if needed can be provided.
This is a request for a reinspection as well as a request to speak to the Manager/Supervisor that oversees Muriet Turner (Claims Adjuster) Thanks.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a supervisor responding to my request. Also, a proper letter to actually file for an appeal. [protected]
