On June 8, 2023, at 4:47 pm, I placed an order at Taco Cabana for a Ground beef pizza priced at $5.00 and two chicken tacos also priced at $5.00. However, when I reached the window, I noticed that I only received one taco. When I questioned the employee about the missing taco and why I was charged for only one instead of two, she responded, "You didn't say Duo." I requested a refund and asked if I could start over with my order. Her response was, "NO, we can't give you a refund, and we can't take the food back. Next time, make sure to say Duo."
The term "Duo" was not mentioned anywhere on the menu, and I was unaware that Taco Cabana trained its employees to manipulate prices in this manner. Consequently, what was supposed to be a $10 meal ended up costing me $15.44. When I mentioned that I would contact the corporate office to address the issue, the employee dismissively replied, "Go right ahead and call them. I bet next time you'll say 'Duo'. If this were your business, how would you like it if a customer tried to take advantage of you? Say 'Duo' next time, and we'll understand what you mean." I had no idea that I was engaged in a game with a rude and unprofessional Taco Cabana employee, who found it amusing to scam me out of my money.
The order numbers are 44822 and 448124. The location is in Houston, Texas, zip code 77018, on N Loop W.
Desired outcome: I would like my order redone, and an apology from the employee for being so mean and rude for no reason and thinking it was funny. If I was a white woman she would have never treated me in that form.
Taco Cabana - Food
Went today to pick up 2 tacos chorizo w/egg, chorizo w/potato, extremely greasy, grease dripped right thru bag, very sloppy. the chorizo w/potato was the worse, pieces of potato and a huge slab of chorizo right on top, and cold. The grease went right thru the bag and stained my car.
I have pictures to show. I tried scanning the barcode to tell you my experience and that's not even working.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response.
Taco Cabana - service
I stopped by around 11:30 on Saturday 09/28, purchased a Beyond Meat bowl and asked for a margarita. The cashier refused to serve me because she said that the resultant did not serve drinks until after 12 noon. She spoke to another employee who confirmed they could sale alcohol as long as I bought food. She never apologized nor offered to saw me a drink even after being advised by her co-worker. She also gave me someone else's food.
