Chase Bank levied $80.00 fees on my personal checking account in an unusual way and unexplainable manner. I requested a refund of said fees and was given the "run around" and eventually refused. My checking account has been open with Chase since 2007. 4 months ago Chase charged me $20 per month in maintenance charges, fees totaling $80.00. The fees came unannounced. Nothing changed about my activity, account status, or use of the account. Not 4 months ago or even 6 months ago or even 12 months ago. This $20 monthly charge began without warning.
I entered the Chase Bank branch in Plano, TX on 7/23/09. Curtis Murley, branch manager couldn't substantiate the change in behavior regarding the application of fees. I requested that the fees be reversed. My request was denied. When I asked why, no substantive answer was given.
It is my personal assessment that Curtis treated me with disdain and showed no interest in seeing this problem from my side of the table. He fabricated details accusing me of visiting 5 branches with this problem, attempting to make it sound like I was being a ridiculous customer. This was not true. I had not visited 5 branches. This Plano branch was the 2nd branch in 2 days that I had visited regarding this matter. Mr. Murley expressed no interest in hearing what efforts I had made in trying to get in contact with someone who had the authority to remedy this dispute. I had visited another branch in Frisco the day prior to deposit funds, where I learned of the charges levied on my account and first discussed it with a Personal Banker there.
Based on this experience with Chase Bank, I will never seek to do business with this company again.

We used to bank with WAMU until Chase bought it out. Chase bank is WWWWAAAYYYY too big to be a "people's" bank. We are blown off with every complaint from holding all small checks for sometimes 48 hours to process all large checks through first (which go through like freight trains), to holding "pending" deposits of payroll checks that have been deposited to the account for close to 10 years for the reason of, "it's a larger check than usual". (I got a raise for work performance if it's really ANY of their business). This bank is working under questionable business ethics.
