I really enjoy the Family Dollar because I can get in and out. I went to purchase some storage tubs. I bought 4 of them and went up to the cashier who was a tall 6'2 white young man with long bleached blonde hair. He scanned my 3 bins and the 4th one he couldn't reach and handed me the scanner and asked me to scan it which was strange, but I did. Then he told me my total of $27. 60. I haded him 2 twenty dollar bills. Another lady was behind me a few feet away because of the whole Corona Virus.
The cashier squatted down and asked me, "Can I borrow 2 dollars. I then looked into my wallet and said, "I don't have 2 dollars." In my mind I was thinking that he is needing it for his register. I used to work retail so that is what made sense to me. And all I had were twenty dollar bills so I didn't have the 2 dollars he wanted to borrow.

I do want to say I am a registered nurse and a nurse educator so this post is very important morally and ethically.

He then proceeded to tell me, "Well, you are about to get 2.00. Meaning my change was $12.40. Again, I didn't process everything because he was "sly" about it. I got my change and left. As I walked out an eerie feeling fell upon me as I realized he was asking me for money which is highly unprofessional.

I immediately called the store to complain but the same young man answered so I asked for a manger. After waiting about 3 minutes another man with a thick accent answered and asked if he could help me. I asked if he were a manager and he said no he is an assistant manager. I told him I wanted to speak to the manager and asked for a number. He then asked me for my name and I said I was a concerned customer. He then said he was unable to give me a managers number. I thanked him and said I would contact the Corporate office on Monday. I felt as though they might be covering up for one another.

I go into that store a lot and I am not familiar with this cashier. I am deeply saddened to think that he would get away with this.

I really hope I can get a call back on this issue.
